Years and years ago I remember they had little dishes of goldfish, etc at the bar. The following cruise they didnā€™t and I remember asking about this and the bar tender said they discontinued because the snacks got stale sitting out. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

    Yeah. Excuses, excuses.Ā
    Ā

this would be a great idea, especially making them a little spicy would encourage more drinks. Ā
    Ā

They could just have them delivered WITH drinks. Problem solved.
    Ā

I remember asking JH for this a couple years ago, and his response was something to the effect of not wanting everyone digging out of the same bowl. SMH. Whatever šŸ™„.Ā

  2. I booked a last minute free inside guarantee on an Alaskan cruise 7 days last July.Ā
    Ā

surprisingly, we received an inside deck 7 (I think) when we arrived at port, and the room had a couch and very large windows.Ā
We did not get a room assignment until we arrived at the port. Ā We had a lifeboat blocking our view, but I was happy with it.
    Ā

I never booked guarantees, because Iā€™m afraid of what Iā€™ll get. I would consider this an upgrade.

All the ships should currently have this. Pizza, chicken tenders, grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, meatball sandwiches hips, chips and salsa, cookies I believe.

While I appreciate the effort, and with the exception of chips and salsa, none of this appeals to me. I donā€™t want something heavy before I go to bed; I just need something to soak up that alcohol. Ā šŸ™‚
    Ā

Something like little individual cups of Chex mix, sesame, crackers, Chinese

rice crackers, pretzel sticks, peanuts, and pumpkin seeds. Ā
    Ā

I doubt it would be more expensive, and it would cut down on labor.Ā

Or at least have it as an option.Ā

Iā€™d like to be able to go ahead and place my order when I check in on the app for YTD.

LOL. Ā In a perfect world, thatā€™d be great! Ā šŸ‘

    Ā

I want to eat and run! Ā I donā€™t place a lot of importance on Ā  food or the dining experience. Ā
    Ā

Unfortunately, it seems that the people with whom I travel donā€™t know what they want to eat or even have the forethought to look at the menu until their fanny hits the chair. Ā
    Ā

    Menu?
    Food?

    Whatā€™s happening? Where am I?

    Ā

    Ugh. Ā
    Ā

I looked at the menu in the morning and knew what I wanted hours ago. Ā

. A coffee station on every floor in the morning, perhaps in the elevator lobby. It would take a lot of pressure off of room service and I wouldn't have to wait so long to get my caffeine fix.Ā

Yes. And while theyā€™re at it, an ice dispenser would be great, albeit a bit noisy. Ā  Or maybe put them in the self laundry rooms. Ā

Luminosa is a pretty ship but there is no Guys, Blue Iguana, etcā€¦. We were unimpressed by the Luminosa.

We were unimpressed with Luminosa as well.Ā
    Ā

I think this shipā€™s putt -putt is nonexistent. Ā The shops had nice things Iā€™ve not seen elsewhere though.Ā

  7. Has anyone played PB on the Vista?

    Ā

Ā I realize it has a basketball court. But what I want to know is if anyone has used it to play PB. Ā

    Ā

    I donā€™t need a net, I just want to hit the ball back-and-forth for 10 to 15 minutes. Ā
    Ā

We were on the wonder of the seas, and the line was ridiculous. Ā
    Ā

We were also on the Luminosa, and the basketball court was constantly filled, no matter what time we got there. Ā

On a few cruises since the restart the steward told me when he would be available to clean the room. We weren't really given a choice.

šŸ˜³. Thatā€™s insane. Ā In 32 cruises Iā€™ve always been given a choice. Ā In fact, I ask evening turndown and for ice twice a day. Ā Never have I ever been told no. Ā
    Ā

I ask for extra pillow, an extra blanket also.

    Ā

Ā I tell them no towel animals. Ā
    Ā

I hand them a list with my cabin number and my preferences. Ā

    Ā

Iā€™m going to start tipping extra in advance in addition to my normal after. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø. Ā  They seem surprised when I seek them out afterwards to tip them extra. Ā

The line seems to wrap around the entire lobby when the gratuities hit the folio

    Not sure thatā€™s a fair statement. Ā
    Ā

Not everyone is removing tips. Some people are just having questions in general. Ā I go there sometimes to have my friendā€™s tips moved to my account, refund on wi-fi, questions about debarkation and a myriad of other things. Ā
    Ā

Iā€™m almost diamond and have never removed tips. Although, if I felt the need to do so, Iā€™d do it. Ā

I feel like I should know the answer to this by now but can you use the FREE ship WiFi that you use for the Carnival Hub to use your iPhoneā€™s texting (iMessage) while at sea?? Can you also use it to FaceTime while at see for FREE??Ā
    Ā

Im very cautious with my cell at sea so not to get any unexpected charges, but would love to know what is possible for free.Ā
    Ā

    thanksĀ

    Sometimes.
    Ā

My husband and I were on the Mardi Gras. Ā I had paid for premium Wi-Fi. He did NOT.
    Ā

I was in the bed watching TV, and he was out on the balcony. Ā We were not near a port.Ā

    Ā

I texted him, and he answered. Ā šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

We were there earlier this year and umbrellas seemed quite large. You did have to anchor them your selves. Didn't like that there wasn't much shade or signage in this port. No maps of where to go when go off the ship so just wandered. Food not the best.

Where do you go to get these umbrellas?
    Ā

iā€™m assuming you get some kind of ticket and it indicates where on that?

    Ā

  12. The umbrellas are not the clamshells. Ā
    Ā

The rental umbrellas are a new thing. Ā  Maybe because guests were complaining that thereā€™s little shade near the big ship/bar thing. Ā Ā
    Ā

Iā€™m grateful to have an umbrella at least, as long as itā€™s large enough to be considered shade. Ā
    Ā

Hopefully someone has rented these and will respond. Ā

  13. Since the cabanas are ridiculously priced now, I went ahead and rented an umbrella for $35. Ā The umbrella supposedly is good for two people. Ā
    Ā

I am wondering if it does in fact work for two people.

    Ā

Has anybody had experience with this? Ā  Unless this umbrella is pretty large, I donā€™t see it.
    Ā

    thanks.

  14. Iā€™m not thrilled to get my picture taken either. Ā In fact, I hate it. However, Iā€™ve heard that the photographers get credit or have a quota theyā€™re trying to make. Ā  Maybe thatā€™s not true? Ā
    Ā

At any rate, despite me looking like a bag lady, I still stop for a photo occasionally. Ā They almost look relieved. I tell them that it will increase my chances for buying if itā€™s in black and white and they sometimes accommodate. Ā
