I remember asking JH for this a couple years ago, and his response was something to the effect of not wanting everyone digging out of the same bowl. SMH. Whatever 🙄. 

I booked a last minute free inside guarantee on an Alaskan cruise 7 days last July. 
 

surprisingly, we received an inside deck 7 (I think) when we arrived at port, and the room had a couch and very large windows. 
We did not get a room assignment until we arrived at the port.  We had a lifeboat blocking our view, but I was happy with it.
 

I never booked guarantees, because I’m afraid of what I’ll get. I would consider this an upgrade.

While I appreciate the effort, and with the exception of chips and salsa, none of this appeals to me. I don’t want something heavy before I go to bed; I just need something to soak up that alcohol.  🙂
 

Something like little individual cups of Chex mix, sesame, crackers, Chinese

rice crackers, pretzel sticks, peanuts, and pumpkin seeds.  
 

I doubt it would be more expensive, and it would cut down on labor. 

Or at least have it as an option.

I want to eat and run!  I don’t place a lot of importance on   food or the dining experience.  
 

Unfortunately, it seems that the people with whom I travel don’t know what they want to eat or even have the forethought to look at the menu until their fanny hits the chair.

Yes. And while they’re at it, an ice dispenser would be great, albeit a bit noisy.   Or maybe put them in the self laundry rooms.

We were unimpressed with Luminosa as well. 
 

I think this ship’s putt -putt is nonexistent.  The shops had nice things I’ve not seen elsewhere though. 

Has anyone played PB on the Vista?

 I realize it has a basketball court. But what I want to know is if anyone has used it to play PB.  

I don’t need a net, I just want to hit the ball back-and-forth for 10 to 15 minutes.  
 

We were on the wonder of the seas, and the line was ridiculous.  
 

We were also on the Luminosa, and the basketball court was constantly filled, no matter what time we got there.

😳. That’s insane.  In 32 cruises I’ve always been given a choice.  In fact, I ask evening turndown and for ice twice a day.  Never have I ever been told no.  
 

I ask for extra pillow, an extra blanket also.

 I tell them no towel animals.  
 

I hand them a list with my cabin number and my preferences.  

I’m going to start tipping extra in advance in addition to my normal after. 🤷‍♀️.   They seem surprised when I seek them out afterwards to tip them extra.  

This is why I haven’t returned to the ABC’s.   

We went once in 2015 or so and 2 of the 3 excursions we booked did a switch-er-oo.   😡
 

And these were through Carnival, which we rarely do.   
 

This ticked me off so bad that I’ve never returned to these ports.

Not sure that’s a fair statement.  
 

Not everyone is removing tips. Some people are just having questions in general.  I go there sometimes to have my friend’s tips moved to my account, refund on wi-fi, questions about debarkation and a myriad of other things.  
 

I’m almost diamond and have never removed tips. Although, if I felt the need to do so, I’d do it.

My husband and I were on the Mardi Gras.  I had paid for premium Wi-Fi. He did NOT.
 

I was in the bed watching TV, and he was out on the balcony.  We were not near a port. 

I texted him, and he answered.  🤷‍♀️

The umbrellas are not the clamshells.  
 

The rental umbrellas are a new thing.   Maybe because guests were complaining that there’s little shade near the big ship/bar thing.   
 

I’m grateful to have an umbrella at least, as long as it’s large enough to be considered shade.  
 

Hopefully someone has rented these and will respond.  

Since the cabanas are ridiculously priced now, I went ahead and rented an umbrella for $35.  The umbrella supposedly is good for two people.  
 

I am wondering if it does in fact work for two people.

Has anybody had experience with this?   Unless this umbrella is pretty large, I don’t see it.

I sometimes cruise at the beginning of Dec.  It seems that’s when hotels start decorating and that’s the LAST thing I want to think about when I’m cruising.  Ugh.  I just want to relax and not think about shopping, wrapping, cooking, cleaning, etc.  

I’m not thrilled to get my picture taken either.  In fact, I hate it. However, I’ve heard that the photographers get credit or have a quota they’re trying to make.   Maybe that’s not true?  
 

At any rate, despite me looking like a bag lady, I still stop for a photo occasionally.  They almost look relieved. I tell them that it will increase my chances for buying if it’s in black and white and they sometimes accommodate.  

What nobody is mentioning is that this is not very “green” and half of it likely ends up in landfills. 
 

Either a tshirt or free drink would make more sense.
