  1. Don't be afraid of all of you staying in 1 room. We are a family of four with two teenagers, 16 & 15 and we still do it with with no issues and our 15 year old is 6'3" 230lbs.

The only thing I would suggest is looking at the sleeping arrangements that each child gets their own bed. At those ages, I'm guessing they will not want to share.

I'm thinking it was the oasis that we cruised in a balcony and there was only a sofa pullout for the 3rd & 4th guest.

We cruised on the NCL Pearl in August in a quad ocean view room and that turned out fine.

Usually, by the time all four of us were back in the room we all vegged in our own space :)

  2. I'm chunky (size 16 if that helps) and I didn't get turned away. On Getaway drop slides they strapped on a backboard and I had no issues. I went while the ship was in Nassau and was the only one in line. Must have gone 10 times before I decided the stairs were too much and I needed a rest. (Probably why I'm a size 16 hah!)

Ummm, add a couple sizes and you still won't get turned away. You have no worries.

  3.

We asked for a behind-the-scenes tour, and she arrange to have the ship's chief engineer take us into the engineering control room. And the captain to personally show us around the bridge. The Bridge tour was amazing with the captain spending an full hours with 3 suite families. We were actually on the bridge as we left an anchor port (with the other ship's officers in command of the departure).

    Was this complimentary?

  4. Just got off the Pearl on August 23rd.

We had the UBP, booked it earlier on when the gratuities were included.

The only thing listed on our bill was for taxes for four drinks bought in Seattle prior to departure. Next to the taxes was the location the drink was bought at.

Example $1.26 Sky High Bar & Grill

  5. I did this direct with NCL and as long as the names have been finalize, changed or deleted prior to final payment you are good. My PCC can just change things internally.

If you are with a travel agent they may have their own cancellation or change rules & fees.

Don't wait to add names ( have done this too )

Booked with KSF and 6 months later when they had the KSF promotion on again I decided to add a passenger.....,the booking didn't qualify ( different KSF promo) and had to pay full 4th passenger rate.

  6. My family has booked rooms on the Norwegian Pearl for next summer. We are all very excited, but my husband and I are a bit concerned about our ocean view cabin for 4 after seeing this picture.

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited to bring our kids, but I also would like to sleep a little during our vacation and that wouldn't be possible with one in bed with us. Would it be worth upgrading to a balcony so that we won't be so crowded at night?

We are doing this next month with 2 teens that will soon be 16 & 15.

We chuckle about the set up and hopefully we can chuckle about it after the cruise too ;)

The plan is our dd16 will use the bunk, ds 6'2" 200 lbs on a regular bed, dh on a regular bed and I get the cot. Having it set up as it is in the pic.

After a few people have said the beds can be switched around, I wonder if we could have the mattress from the cot on the floor and ds sleep on that? This way we could push to two regular beds together for dh and I

  7. Im in the same dilemma as you. Don't drink but did get the UBP for our Caribbean cruise for the odd drink & virgin drinks.

We are completely happy with the main dining rooms so don't nee the UDP.

Now we are considering a Med with 7 ports so the Shore excursion credit sounded really good until we found out the $75 credit only applies to a max of 4 ports. Well, still is good, byt not as good as I thought lol :p

  8. We have done the Oasis & Getaway same week 1 year apart. I believe the ships were at capacity or very close. I would never have guessed that many people were on board. I do agree with a poster above the buffet at prime hours will be busy and the pool area on sea days......but that is easy to work around with so many options

  9. We had a Getaway Balcony room for 4 but had 5 stay in it for 7 days. 2 adults and 3 teenagers 17, 15 & 14

We brought a n extra teen friend, booked him in my sisters room but he stayed the week in our room.

It was tight, but very doable. We would do it again if the situation raised.

Everyone kept their suitcases packed under the bed. Just roll them out when needed. Each person got 1 shelf in the closet for the I things they used multiple times a day etc

The teens each had a back back they kept their electronics in, books etc for sea days and port days.

Dh & I still enjoyed our coffee in our room in the mornings 😄

  10. Got an email from NCL offering a free upgrade from oceanview to balcony if I change my sailing date from Aug 16th to June 28th.

We are on the Pearl to Alaska Roundtrip Seattle.

Reading the other posts a few people got similar emails but for different ships/dates.

I tried doing a mock booking for this cruise and no availability for four to a room. ( any category )

Thinking they must be trying to free up some rooms I offered to switch to a sailing the day before ( August 15th ) Alaska, Roundtrip Seattle. The change would be the ship from the Pearl to the Jewel. (Tried the mock booking here and many rooms in a variety of categories available for four to a room )

Long story short.....they said I could switch to the jewel for the day before but no upgrade.

    I said "No Thanks"

  11. Its a touristy walk to Junkanoo Beach. Shops, restaurants, lots of people etc.....so its not too scary :p

Great view of the cruise ships

The beach itself was just ok ( I dont think they rake it but I dont know )

Big drop off from the sand to the water

We rented a couple loungers. They are more than helpful to rent you one and set it where you want
