  1. Debarking was literally the smoothest I've ever seen. When they called our number we got an empty elevator straight down the deck 5 and within 30 seconds we were off the ship. For everyone who complains that Oasis class ships are too large and too crowded has obviously he never seen what royal can do with a smooth debarcation process. Overall we had an amazing time on this trip. Overall the entertainment was good although we have seen better. The food was very very good, but we did upgraded dining and never set foot in the main dining room one time on the entire voyage. For all the people who complained about this and that, we had an amazing vacation.
  2. Going smooth. So far they have called most tag numbers. I expect they will open full debarking in about 10 min.
  3. They just announced ANOTHER Alpha Alpha Alpha...I think that is the 5th or 6th so far of the trip.
  4. No, and No. I am very appreciative that they did credit us, but it was not expected and I would never have assumed or demanded it.
  5. No. They wouldn't really tell us due to privacy concerns.
  6. Yeah. I know walking past guest services you just see the really unhappy people (those OK with it aren't waiting at guest services LOL) but some people are just unreasonable. One guy in front of me last night berated an officer for 30 minutes that he already paid 15k for his cruise and charging him another $100 for a day of internet for his 2 cabins of guests was a bridge too far. He wasn't leaving until he got special treatment (no, he never got it)
  7. Half price based on the full onboard rate, not the sale prices we booked in advance. Still worth it for an extra day on the ship, but a lot of strong opinions on this on the ship. I'm ok with it, but many are not.
  8. The credit given to us for missing CoCo was dependent on your stateroom category. The person who got $400 was in a suite. Balconies got $200 plus $50 for 3rd and 4th guest. By comparison, average cruise fare for a family of 4 on this cruise was about $5k, so that would have been over $700 refund. I do think Royal was very generous and what they gave us for missing Coco, but I don't think it was a vastly superior compensation compared to those missing a day and getting 1/7 back. Yes missing a day sucks, but things happen. Many people on this cruise, while enjoying the free day, did not choose this. It just happened to us.
  9. This is the Royal Caribbean IT department we are talking about here....what should be simple rarely is.
  10. 50% of the onboard price, not what you paid originally. Everyone is being charged the same amount for 8th day of wifi or drinks. Too complicated to figure out each person's individual rate, easier to charge everyone equally.
  11. They're are a lot of unhappy people on this ship right now. Seems they are charging everyone for the 8th day of drink/wifi/dining packages and a lot of people lost their minds. If you had wifi or drink packages, they are automatically renewing for day 8 at 50% of the onboard daily price (not 50% of whatever sale you got back when you booked it) and anyone with unlimited dining can book specialty restaurants for 50% off the onboard meal price. You can cancel the auto renewed packages for day 8 if you don't want it. Between that and flights, customer service was a hellscape tonight. I am thankfully in the minority here, no flights home, don't mind paying a few $s for an extra day onboard. But a lot of angry people here now. I also felt that the communication was decent. Sure they could have said more sooner, always can. But they did many announcements day 1 and I feel have enough notice to change plans. For debarking, people CAN self walk off as early as 4:30 but after that it's normal schedule thru 9am based on mode of transportation. And everyone does get the 8th cruise point.
  12. Someone on the ship has a nautical Garmin GPS and is posting photos regularly. At current speed it looks like we actually might pull in around 4:00 p.m. (subject to change, legal disclaimer here, yada yada...)
  13. I will gladly use it on your behalf... What's your cabin#? LOL
  14. I know that's what marine traffic says, but mathematically that is impossible. The ship would have to average 35kts to achieve that time.
  15. Not sure if my math is correct but it's 1400 nautical miles from PR to Canaveral, we left about 10pm, and currently doing 21.4kts. even if we cranked it, no way we are getting home until VERY LATE Sunday, most likely Monday. Anyone know the Max speed of an Oasis class ship? At 22kts, we'd arrive 10am Monday. I think we were going 24kts when heading towards PR, so my guess is we arrive between midnight and 6am Monday morning.
  16. For what it's worth I just came from guest services. All they're telling people is the same token 4:00 p.m. arrival time, but the lady did hint that that answer is most likely to change tomorrow morning after the captain has had a chance to talk to corporate office in Miami. I'm guessing they still have to factor in weather, wind, comfort to everyone if we try to maintain a faster speed, Plus if they're going to come in Monday morning canceling an entire day off the next cruise is all kinds of logistical challenges they need to figure out.
  17. The exactly who and how of the injury will likely just be rumor and conjecture. At this point the important thing is waiting for the captain to announce estimated time back to Port Canaveral and how that affects both those of us on the cruise now and those of you looking to board on Sunday.
  18. Got it, that makes more sense time wise. Crazy that there were multiple medical emergencies that close together.
  19. Are you sure about that? After breakfast we went out and my kids played on the playscape, and this was around 11am. Definitely was not closed then. I wonder if there was more than one incident today although I only heard the alpha call once.
  20. About 85 miles north of San Juan now, probably another 3.5 to 4 hours until we arrive.
  21. Interesting. We heard it was something at the entrance to the windjammer, about 10am. I wonder where they fell from/to. This was the 3rd Alpha of the cruise so far that we remember. Saw the first on day 1, someone had an incident coming down the Abyss slide. Not sure if they hit their head or fainted or what exactly. Turned out to be fairly minor thankfully.
  22. I am on this sailing as well. They just came back on saying they will give an update on the expected time back to PC once we get to San Juan.
  23. I sail on the Wonder this coming Sunday, and I just got my upgrade this morning! So 6 days before, which I was not expecting. Last time I won one it was 1-2 days before.
