Where would they put a fridge in the Studio????

I do agree that the chair hog comment was a bit over the edge..that was just included because of my other gripe with that. I do apologize for that for taking that out on you it was wrong.
It's just that so many couples are doing what you did...yes, ok..the rooms weren't selling well at first, but this leaves it open for other couples to follow suit because they want extra room. The handicapped staterooms are on all ships, but the single staterooms or only on one and I just feel that it's unfair to be used that way on purpose when others may want them. I had looked for bookings on the Epic and I saw that many are sold out..My thought..wow..that's great that their being of benefit tothe singles, but to find out that some of the couples were booking them, I was floored. Like come on. Where are we single traveler to get a break. You should thank God that you have someone to always share expenses with. But alot of solo's do not and I thought that's what NCL was trying to provide for us so that our pockets aren't ripped apart in order to enjoy our trip.
I'm just asking that the couples who practice this, please be considerate of the single traveller, that's the only ship we can get a break on.
I'm a single/solo traveller myself and I have absolutely no problems with couples booking two Studio cabins. Are they supposed to contact me and say "Hey, Colin....just wanted to call and see if you were going to book a Studio cabin? If not we're gonna take one". No one owes me any special consideration merely because I'm a solo traveller.
Personally I don't take anyone else into consideration when booking my holidays unless perhaps they have some sort of special circumstance, i.e: handicapped.
Epic is not the only ship that singles can get a break on. There are plenty of discount web sites and last minute cruise sites online that have great prices for both couples and singles. Be flexible, be resourceful.

Um- what happens if someone rea;;y had bad you no *uh oh I got diahheria) and they in the washroom for __x amount of fluishes and suffering so bad that they can NOT return within an hour.
O rmaybe...they nice people...who got caught up on a conversation with people they never knew where on the cruise (same town, same area) and they are ctaching up...2 -3 rounds of drinks o deck 6...ad opps, they forgot tot rsuh back.
What about the poor person who's wonderful wife or husband or whatever they are to them (mom or son, daughter ro grand mother).....at times says they will be right back.. and well the other person lays gaurd but they too may be busy sleeping or reading a book and well...he is really NOT saving it...he is just watchdog it for his partner, right..,,

Mike,
Thanks for a fantastic and thorough review. Almost felt like I was peeking over you shoulder the entire cruise.
Have a question though.
Really? :D:D:D:D
Course now, I have been on cruises where some guys were accused of having no taste in pants . . . . . just saying. :p
Some people don't realize since it is a ship restaurant they should wear DOCKers.
(Apologies for that groaner) :D

Very enjoyable read, I felt like I was back on the ship. One question though: I didn't even know there was a public area on Deck 18. How do you get up there? The elevators that are right outside of the Garden Cafe by the sun deck?

Bunch of cruise line Martha Stewart weirdo's. :)

Goodness sakes, it looks like some of you are planning for the Invasion of Normandy rather than a seven day cruise. :)

My tip on this subject, in the post immediately above yours, verbatim:
"Other misc stuff: a Swiss Army knife (or clone) (DON'T put it in your carry on!)"
Ah, sorry. I skimmed the post before having my morning coffee. :)

If you are flying wouldn't a swiss army knife be confiscated at security?
Sounds like if I brought everything on all these lists I'd have to hire a Sherpa and some Llama's to haul it all.
I'm a very light packer. I'll have one big bag for the week.

Alka Seltzer. Just in case the bars accidentally over serve you. :D
Living life in a STUDIO room on the EPIC review

I'm missing something in your postings. Why can't you get a room? A quick perusal of several different sailings shows plenty of available studio rooms. Exactly what are you considering a price deal? My next cruise I booked already in a studio cost me just a tad over 900 bucks.
For a week that gets me my own cool, and kinda trendy room as a solo, as much food as I want and a fun ride to three great foreign ports. Doing a bit of math in my head puts that at about 130 bucks a day or maybe around $200 if I decide to splurge a bit. I think that's a great deal.
Just trying to understand.
