I hope folks will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there's really been much if any experience yet with ships calling at Bermuda more than 4 days from embarkation, at least from the East Coast. Cruise lines with such sailings to Bermuda rearranged itineraries to avoid just such a scenario.  They don't want to have to test a ship full of people, nor do they want to find and have to deal with a bunch of covid-19-positive guests.

February is a long way off.  Anything could change by then.

I board Sept 3 and we don't get to Bermuda for 5 days.  I was hoping for the need to test to change but it looks like it will not.  I am expecting a lot of waiting.

  2. I usually disembark in the first "carry your own bag" group.  However, this time I am waiting for someone who has to check out with crew so I will need to kill time before getting off.  I won't be one of those that hold anyone up, by staying late in my cabin or hiding.  I know some of the bars and restaurant serve breakfast and cocktails but I've never been on board to know which one.  Anyone have any experience with this?  Anything but the buffet, try to never eat there.

I enjoy dining alone sometimes and find trying to meet up on a daily basis takes up too much of my time. Plus I am a solo straight male and have in the past found that to be a turn off for sharing with groups or couples. So I prefer many times to dine alone and not in the buffet. So, can I dine as a solo in the paid specialty places? And can I simply show up at the door of the free places and ask to be seated by myself?

I cruise solo often.  You can go to the MDR and request to sit alone.  They sometimes offer to put you at a table with others.  I have always declined.  I will be on the Getaway early September solo and will have be dining in a specialty dining room solo, so I will report back if there are any issues.

  4. The NCL site says you have to either have a vaccine or a negative covid test within 2 days.  Bermuda site says PCR test within 4 days.  To me this means that since we have the vax we can test 4 days before for Bermuda.  But to be cautious I chatted with NCL and they said no, you have to test 2 days before.  This is difficult due to travel.  Anyone had any personal experience with this?

  5. Just found out my Bermuda cruise is going to overnight in Port Canaveral.  This was unexpected but I have many friends in the area and was wondering if there was any need to return to the ship at any point of if I could get off in the afternoon and return the next evening?

  6. I'm going on a cruise this summer that stops in Bermuda after 5 days at sea.  I've been told that we have to test again on the ship 2 days before we get to Bermuda.  Has anyone experienced this?  I will be on NCL on a large ship and it seems like it would take a really long time and be very frustrating experience.  Also, if I do not plan to get off the ship in Bermuda, do I have to test?  I've been before and not to excited about anything there, so I would love to just enjoy the ship.

  7. I fully understand that no one can know this for sure, so I do not need to be told that 100 times, but I am wondering in anyone's personal experience how close to the cruise it the single supplement reduced?  I'm sure it has to do with the bookings, but was wondering if anyone noticed a trend?

If your cabin is ready when you board how soon after that is your luggage delivered?

That I would imagine won't change.  So, probably anytime between 3 and 6.  We have gotten ours after sail away.  If I knew cabins were ready I'll just roll on my bag.  Its a beach vacation, my bag is small.

Are they normally ready when you board ?

just wondering, we are only used to Boarding Celebrity and are usually

allowed to go directly to the cabin and drop off your valuables in the safe

and pick up your room keys.

we are trying NCL for the first time this fall and was wondering the same.

    thanks

No, I am usually on board early and cabins sometimes are not ready until 1:00pm

I would Google what you're looking for too and cruise news sites. Anything anyone here would know would probably be on Google. As mentioned there is already a thread on this .

I have googled everything I could think of to google.  I was just hoping someone had some additional information and places to look I had not considered.

  11. I see the Escape is in port.  Is there anywhere to check to see what her status is?  I was scheduled on the 19th but was canceled.  Now I'm booked on the 26th and very concerned that we will get canceled again.  I am hoping for any encouraging information.

  12. I am hopefully sailing on the Escape this weekend.  I was supposed to be on the 19th but it was canceled.  I was wondering if anyone has been the first on board after a cancellation or week off?  Will our cabins be ready as soon as we board?  If so, I want to just walk my luggage on with me.

It seems like a relatively minor case, and according to the CDC guidelines I should only be contagious for about ~10 days.  My worry is that I might still be testing positive a month from now - I've read that some people continue to test positive for months after they get it.  Any thoughts on the best path forward?

I was one of those that kept testing positive way after the 10 days.  Never really felt ill but tested positive.  It only took a couple weeks.  Nurse told me to take a hot steamy shower before my test.  You have plenty of time.  You should be fine.
