  1. After reading a post on a social media page I must congratulate Celebrity cruises for their actions.

Someone needed to cancel their cruise due to very sad circumstances and Celebrity have given them every penny of their cruise money.

It was paid in full and they were going in a few weeks time

Well done Celebrity cruises your actions speak louder than words and what a wonderful gesture.

    Happy Christmas to you all.

  2. I am considering my options for a day in Saigon in February 2017:

    1. Ship transport only and then diy sightseeing in the city

    2. Joining a tour being planned on the roll call

Can anyone offer information on independent sightseeing?

I have read that hop-on buses - a usual favourite of mine, are not well organised in Saigon.

Has anyone experience or costings for a private tour or taxi for the day?

    Thank you in anticipation,

    Waggie

We have done Saigon before and just got taxi from the port they take you to the places of interest and it's not very expensive. We have done thrice twice now. Maybe just have a chillaxing day on the ship this time.

  4. I was hoping that if our 8Aug cruise changes the itinerary to all EU ports, that Celebrity might throw in some OBC to cover the added tax. Seems fair since many people might actually only book cruises in which there is no VAT! I would assume that Celebrity will decide on port changes sooner than later.

Perhaps just a pipe dream about Celebrity covering the VAT!

I'm on same cruise August 8th and up to now we are still going to turkey celebrity are monitoring the situation closely Jewel of the seas was in KUSADASI yesterday.

  5. The port is Boracay and to Boracay you will go, not the mainland.

You will get off the tender near Boracay Jetty Port where various island transportation options will be waiting and take you to Stations 3, 2 or 1 in that order. White Beach is between Stations 3 and 2. We loved Boracay but a lot of pax complained about it.

Opps sorry your right I forgot it was 3.2.1 lol

  6. I'm a firm believer in fate... what will be , will be! But that doesn't mean that I want to put myself in the situation, where it might just happen! Of course, you are right & I totally agree with you, at the minute, we cannot guarantee our safety, this can happen anywhere, this I know only too well. But again, do you want to spend your holiday worrying or relaxing... I know which one I choose & I still say. "Cancel the Turkish ports"

Someone on celebrity cruise addicts on Facebook has had word from Miami that at present they are not cancelling KUSADASI however they are monitoring the situation.

  7. Hi

Does anybody know where we disembark the tender at Boracay , is it on the mainland or on Boracay island itself ?

I am trying to book an activity and I am not sure where we need to be picked up from

Any help much appreciated , thank you

If you are going to one of the beaches there are many little tut tuts that take you there very cheap. However it's the local transport fun but scary we enjoyed it. I can't remember where we docked for tender but it was near station 1 beach hope this helps

  8. I will try and ring tomorrow and add my voice to the list of those people NOT wanting to visit Turkey at all. Here's hoping Cc see's sense & puts the safety of passengers & staff first. I think this is the wrong time to be going there & it is a holiday I am wanting, I certainly don't want to be spending my cruise worrying about visiting Turkey.

In reality are we safe anywhere..Germany, France, Florida, and now shootings in Japan. I'm just thinking if your in the wrong place at the wrong time it is our fate. I've been in turkey previously on land vacations when there has been troubles I was even there when they had a large earth quake, if you want to travel you need to know that anything could happen....even before you get to your destination

  9. We are going to try MSC (7 day out of Southampton in September). It will be our first non Celebrity cruise (we are elite plus).

I think Celebrity has a great product if you are willing to pay for a suite. If you are in anything else, I am thinking there really isn't a lot of difference between Celebrity and many other cruise lines.

We are back on Summit for Christmas this year (my favorite X ship). So we aren't abandoning ship completely, but we are going to explore other lines.

Don't forget to let MSC know your status has they status match and you get a few nice little touches on board x

  10. Did you call the Captain's Club number or just regular customer service? I've never had an issue w/ their service or follow-up but always call the Captain's Club line.

I rang the regular number. I have now just emailed them, so we wi

L see how long this reply takes its so frustrating that you have to check that things are right. They are not the best at getting these things done in a timely manner

  11. As a stockholder in the parent and a frequent celebrity cruiser, these guys get a D- for customer service, website and follow-up - and that is very, very dismaying. They have the resources to be among the best....the commitment just is not there.

More like a Z ... I refuse to call a premium phone line anymore. Last year my call was over £15.00 and what's so annoying is he forgot he had me on hold grrrrr

  12. Oh dear......just over two weeks ago I rang customer service(UK) after waiting 57 minutes to get through I eventually bought some OBC today I looked on my cruise planner! Guess what ...no OBC showing. I rang again today to query this to be informed it had been overlooked. Was then informed several hours ago now that I would receive an email showing it had been credited. No email no OBC showing. I asked to apply some further OBC to my next cruise....37 minutes later the guy picked up the phone and said sorry I forgot you were on hold. As I had an appointment I could not further be put on hold as I was already running late by this time. Was informed I would receive a phone call at 3 pm to organise this, I know it's only 40 minutes late at this point. But no phone call and I'm really peeved that I've spent best part of my day either ringing celebrity or waiting for the, to call.....come on celebrity what's happened to your customer service??? At this moment I am not a happy bunny[emoji36][emoji36][emoji36]

  13. Question for you Doris! When we go to Rome and Greece in September / October on the Celebrity Silhouette - should we bother with swim suits? Is it too cold to lay about at the end of September? This is an 11 day cruise Sept 24...... We like to pack light as in carry on

Take your swim suits it will still be hot in the med high70s at least
