  1. Sue was supposed to step in on Millennium while Steve went on holiday, but some other stuff changed that plan, so she won't be on Millennium this summer

I've just looked her up and she is on reflection until the 29th August I'm so pleased I will at last see her x

  2. Our cruise on reflection went up in price and is now sold out. We are also going on the Jewel of the seas in September and that cruise has gone up nearly £1000 for 2 persons. The harmony of the seas prices were beyond belief very very expensive.

  3. I for one wouldn't be happy to lose my points it's been darn hard and expensive to achieve. However I don't take advantage of all of the benefits I could have I rarely go to the elite drinks hour or the captains cocktail party and very very rarely have my clothes washed but I love my free internet. Please don't even put this idea into the cruise lines heads

  4. Just booked on the MSC Fantasia, from 24th July 2016.

Only thing I was told was the all inclusive which I have, is good.

Can someone tell me if Dissaronno, Malibu, and Baileys is on the free list..

Also is there a good choice of cocktails for my wife. Thank you.

Yes just about everything included x

  5. You make a good point in suspecting only a very small % of customers "win" in this competition with X actually losing money on them . However many , like me, come out ahead due to the amount of coffees , waters and other non-alcohol drinks we consume . No Celebrity doesn't lose on us but even so we come out ahead .

Returning to the thread topic , does this lead to heavy drinkers stumbling aboard their ships in greater numbers ? Not sure but if I drank like a fish I'd certainly cruise Celebrity .

I know 2 couples who cruise HAL because they like to smoke on their balcony and HAL is their only option . You could argue these are 2 very different things . Maybe . It makes sense to purchase products and services from those who satisfy your needs .

I agree with some of your points, however I have heard on so so many occasions the little quote " I would never buy this many coffees, cocktails etc if I didn't have the package" and when you take into consideration how overly inflated the prices are believe you me Celebrity have a deal breaker with the packages. If it was not so I am ssure they would have gone back to the old system by now

  6. Hi

I could not edit my reply: 1 comment and a proposed solution:

RCI ships have a reputation of being the 'party vessels'.

The solution is easy - stop including the 'free drinks packages' in the boarding fare.

Personally I think the drinks package is here to stay. Many passengers don't drink enough to make it pay however celebrity have the money. I suspect maybe 10-15% drink way over the cost however the majority done go anywhere near the cost. A money maker for Celebrity I think.

  7. Cruises under the old system are credited under that system and then converted to the new system. The conversion is sort of 1 week of cruising on old system equal to 30 points today with bonus points for higher categories.

    Thank you very much x

  8. We (group of 8) were on the same cruise as 4774Papa and totally agree it was an excellent cruise. Ship was spotless but then again I wasn't trying to search out rust or anything. The ones in our group that went to the evening shows were newby cruisers and were very happy with the entertainment but we don't go anymore. I'm trying to remember what we did during the day lol We didn't have many sea days on that itinerary so probably just read by the Tpool. We had excellent smooth service and great food in early traditional.

It can be frustrating when the meals don't go as planned. I have never had Select Dining so I have no idea what the issues could have been to make the service so slow. Sorry that happened.

I was looking at that cruise for next year:) Was it the Vietnam & Philippine cruise? Fabulous itinerary:D

Yes it was the Vietnam and philipines cruise I am looking to do a similar one next year on the connie I do love the Far East X

  9. Don't get me wrong celebrity is my favourite cruise line however, I have just returned from the Asian and Philippines cruise and witnessed a definite decline. One evening I entered the MDR at 7.30pm and at 8.40pm I still had crockery on the table from my 1st course, As I was wanting to se the show! Which was the best one of the entire cruise, I left the DR without being fed. The entertainment was the worst I have experienced on celebrity especially during the day. I did not receive my flower from the captains club- no big deal but being told they only had 200 flowers someone had to miss out. I also found the captains club hostess to be rather unsocial. As we entered she spoke briefly saying "hello I haven't see you here before!" End of! The ship is in need of its refurb, which I understand is soon. As always the staff in martini bar were amazing and work very hard, as do most of the staff, however there is a definite cut back of staff which is seriously beginning to show. Don't spoil a great line celebrity.
