  1. Hello All

We are due to anchor in the bay at Patong at 1pm and we sail again at 10pm.

I have a boat tour operator willing to collect us at the pier and return us, visit Coral island and a few others and then return - set to take about 4 hours.

Would you say that there is enough time to do this and still see a few shops before we return to the ship or is this pushing it a bit?

Your opinions would be welcome please

I have no idea how long it will take to get tenders to the beach and back either.

    Many Thanks

We are on the same cruise as you!

  2. I've taken three 15-day cruises wih Celebrity over he past two years. Currently sailing on Millennium in a Sky Suite. From Day One boarding in Tokyo, balcony unusable due to smell of sewage. Reported it day after boarding, and nothing has been done. Management not keeping me informed, and appears like active ignoring. Our Suite is really an Ocenview cabin at this point. I have asked for compensation for this situation, but again, no communication re resolution. Does Celebrity care? I will have a full report on this situation, and hopefully, will be able to report that Celbrity stands behind its product and care about its loyal passengers.

That's not good! We are going on Millie in January with a friend and I have been raving about Celebrity cruises, I hope she is not disappointed. Also my husband and I too.

Hello dancing man, I think you were on a cruise I was on a couple of years ago. The voyager of the seas from Singapore to shanghai?? I think I would like to be on Orchard road this time. Any hotels stick out to you, what are your favourites in china town, think that area will be interesting too? carol

  4. The excuse I get is "I don't know how to swim".

My husbands reply to that one is you get in a plane and you can't fly✈️✈️✈️

Funny thing is if the plane comes down where do you think it will be O the sea. I fancy my chances on a ship any day x

  5. While you would be absolutely correct most of the time, the current situation in Civitavecchia is temporarily somewhat different that what you (and I) have previously experienced. There is a major construction project in progress near the main port entrance. As a result, this entrance/exit is not currently available to cruisers who are now shuttled to a secondary entrance/exit somewhat further from the heart of town (and the train station). As to walking (and we have often walked from cruise ships to the main entrance) there have been reports that the port has curtailed walking because of the same construction near the main entrance.

We walked from the train station to the port gate with 3large suitcases and 3 carry ons. We thought the port gate was in the usual place and when we kept asking where the hotel was near the "port" gate people kept telling us further on further on haha. It was an experience as we didn't know it had been changed! However there is a bus for 80 cents to the train station. Which at the time we didn't know. It was quite a hike I must tell you especially in the mid day heat. However we survived x

  6. PLEASE don't take the donkey either up or down it is so cruel. Last year we saw the guys beating them because they were not doing things the way they wanted them to so so cruel. My legs were killing me for 2 days after the walk down so I would use the lift lol

  7. We are doing this trip too. We did the same last year and this is how we did it

    1. got terrifies ion bus from airport to termini e euros booked on line. Easy

    2. Stayed in hotel over the road to termini.

    3. Got train tickets that day for the next day. 6 euros I think.

    4. Got an early train 8.15am we were the only ones in the carriage.

5.had a short walk to port and caught the port shuttle to the ship.

    6. For the return we used smart cruise tours 20 euros direct to the airport.

It was very simple to do and we are doing the same in June.

    Happy cruising

  8. On reflection they did have a problem when prices went up but now seem to have sorted them out. Perhaps we have not ordered anything that is not covered yet. Bar tenders are very good at keeping you right. I think tat as long as you are happy with the Chardonnay or say pino Grigio and type of wine rather than insist on name of wine it is fine. Another fantastic show last night. Entertainment has been superb IMO so far. Cruise director very good too.

We are on reflection in under 4 weeks pleased to know the shows are great and the CD is good, do you know his name. So looking forward to it with your positive comments enjoy the rest of your cruise xCarol

  9. I am the first to say Celebrity have not put up the drink prices for quite some time. Instead of taking drinks from the menu, I would rather they had put up the price of the classic and premium drinks packages to reflect the increase. I know this won't go down well, however it think they should follow other lines which states all adults sharing a cabin must take the package, as we all know from posts on here there is some who abuse it, not all but some do. This could be one of the reasons for such drastic increases.

  11. First of all - I meant to say - we've been on a lot of cruises. Second - I must have done a really bad job conveying what I meant for you to musunderstand soooo severely.

We, of course, wrote glowing comment cards on her service. We tipped her the standard auto gratuities amount, plus and additional $50 cash, plus all of the toiletries we purchased for her. She had tears, because she couldn't believe we were willing to take our port time to shop for her. She said most passengers barely say hello. She was grateful she didn't have to spend her time and money shopping for things she needed. They had just come off a European itinerary where many passengers remove the tips. She said our gifts really lifted her spirits.

I have no clue how you think I put her between a "rock and a hard place"??? And we certainly expected no "kudos". I still think extra cash is always best. But, in addition, we will continue to ask if there is anything we can pick up for our steward while in port.

Well I for one think you are very thoughtful, and you right regarding many people removing the tips, which I find disgraceful, I also know some toiletries are very expensive in Europe and yes they buy their own washing liquids and conditioners and have to wash their own clothes. So yes buying her the necessities would have been a tremendous bonus in my opinion too good on you x Carol

  12. You are making a blanket decision that all staff would like chocolate based on what one person told you about herself? That's a bit of a stretch. Trust me - not everyone likes chocolate. Some don't eat it for dietary reasons. Some don't eat it for religious reasons. And some just don't care for it. But, I can't think of a single person who doesn't like extra cash.

Besides, if you gave them cash, they could buy their own chocolate when they wanted some. Or, they could buy something they need even more.

And don't the staff get room and board during their contracts? Wouldn't this mean that they already get their food for free, including desserts that match their food tastes?

I did say most people like chocolate not every body!! Also if you are anything like me there are things I would do without if I had to buy them myself, for example I love perfume, however it is not something I buy willingly for myself, however I absolutely love getting it as a gift!

Also the crew do not eat the Faye the passenger indulge in mostly it's rice dishes and noodles. I have taken crew shopping when they have been in my home port, and I can tell you something for nothing most of them DO appreciate small gifts. Carol
