Do you tip everyday, or at the end of the cruise?
-
I'm not a salmon fan, but love other sea food. Sad there is not more choice.

I go to San Francisco all the time. My husband has family there, and we only live 3 hrs away. Bad things happen in every city. That being said, make sure you go out where there are people, don't go down ally ways, stay in well lit areas. But I would tell the same for any city/town. I feel safe there.

Can you get just orange juice?
-
For Royal suite and above receive free speciality dinning. Specialty restaurant, bistro on 5. Premium beverage, unlimited Dinning. Enjoy!

I like starboard side, but everyone has there own favorites. I also know a lot of people who like the back because you see both sides.

We are going July 2016,
Ketchikan- Adventure Kart
Juneau -Evening Whale Watch
Skagway-Horseback Adventure
Victoria B.C- tour of city by horse drawn carriage.
We decided on these because it was what interested my husband and I. We went for the Kart, and horseback riding because we wanted to see more of the land side of Alaska. Pick what interest you.

I'm taking the Solstice in July 2016, and from all the recent reviews I know I'll love it. I booked during the 123go, but I have a royal suite and I get all three with the suite and extra. There are still a lot of rooms available.

I'm like more what my husband calls girly drinks...blended fruit drinks. My husband on the other hand is a beer snob. Loves a dark beer. He will not drink Cours, Budweiser, so I'm hoping he can find something he will like. Can we get this in Michaels Club?
-
What kind of drinks are served in Michaels Club?
-
You get your choice of water soda and beer. The wine in fridge not included. You get two bottles of alcohol. You can request the ones you want within reason. I believe there is a list. Someone will email you a week or so before, to ask you about request. At that time you can also tell them what afternoon snacks you would like. You can also order food from the MDR for in suite dinning. Only during dinning times. There is also an expanded room service menu. You also get unlimited internet. Enjoy!

What do we do with our cards. I don't want to carry a purse/wallet, and I don't like lanyards. Hate lanyards around my neck. What is the best way to carry one. I was thinking a retractable clip like I used to use at the hospital. What do you all use.

The is one of the best tours of your cruise, ship , ports and food I have seen in a long time. Thank you for taking the time to post it ! Bob & Donna
I agree whole heartily. I can't wait for my trip July 2016. Your review is making me more excited about my trip.

Thank you so much for answering my questions. I like to know what I have to budget for. I know no matter what, that this will be a wonderful trip for my husband and I. First time in 17 year a trip without kids. We have not even had a night without at least one if them. I'm so excited.

As a royal suite guest, do you have to pay for any of the food on board, like room service, bistro on 5, Aqua spa cafe, mast grill? And would you know what the prices were for gym classes. And was there any snacks offered in Michaels Club? Is there any discount for laundry service? ......ok I think that's it. Thanks. Wow, reading over this, I feel like a five yr old is asking question.

Thank you so much. Best Royal suite photos yet. Makes me much more excited for my trip.

We're just off the Solstice this morning after a week in RS 1607 - one cabin forward of 1609. It was worth every single penny and Samantha, the Michael's Club concierge, is worth more than her weight in gold.
I'll have a more detailed review coming out in the next few days with pictures, but for now I can say that if you book the RS you will likely receive an invite to the helipad for Tracy Arm, unless the weather makes it dangerous for one reason or another. It was *cold* when we went so go prepared.
The naturalist on our cruise, Brent Nixon, was also very entertaining while hugely educational. I'm sorry I missed so many of his talks.
Thank you so much, this makes me more excited for my trip next year in Royal. I read a lot about Aqua but not much on the royal suites. Sounds like I made a great choice. Can't wait for your review.
-
Well, I'll have to let you know. As far as seeing the glaciers, I've been told that they invite suite guess (sometimes) to the helipad up front. It does not hurt to ask.

I can't wait to try Royal Suite myself. But I have a long wait (July 15, 2016). I'll be on the Solstice Alaska as well. If your trip is first, I'd love to here about your experience in Royal.

I'm taking the Solstice July 2016, mainly for two reasons. 1. Flying in, and out of Seattle. It cost more for me to fly in to Vancouver.
And 2nd at the time I booked, I got one heck of a deal. 123go, free companion flight. And I went with the Royal suite so I get all three of the 123 deal. But it depends on what your looking for.

Hi! Just to say this is my first day on this forum - just joined and this is my first post! Although I admit to following various threads regularly and with great interest! Can I just ask a question on a point raised here about Luminae for Suite guests? (as I'm going on Eclipse in 4 weeks time in a Celebrity suite) - do suite guests have to pay to use Luminae?
Appreciate your help on this!
Tracyx
No, it's a benefit of being in a suite. I myself can't wait to try it on the Solstice for my Alaska cruise.

The U.S. does have the silver dollar. It has JFK's image. It does not go over well here. We prefer bills to coin. And the discussion on getting rid of the penny has been around for years. I would love them to get rid of the penny.
Sorry I was wrong JFK is on the half dollar. We have over the years had different silver dollars and one golden dollar. We just don't use them. Most have them as a collectable.

I'm a little confused. I have booked a suite for next year, and was told that we could not eat in the MDR. But we could order from the menu if we see something we like better the then the new suite restaurant menu. Why does every ship have different rules.....sorry I just don't understand.

My solstice trip to Alaska is July 15 2016, and I bought my excursions a couple months ago. You do have to pay for them at that time.
