  4. Cloudy/ rainy was our days coming- the ship is full- lunch at the Cosmopolitan was backed up well after 1:30 because of the weather- nothing going on around the pool- we found refuge at Cellars Masters, Rendez- Vous, and Cafe al Bacio- live entertainment-

  5. Although our Roll Call was kind of inactive I was excited about the chance to meet Captain Kate and other Senior officers at the M&G/ Connections party- for some reason we never got the invite and missed the party- on Monday night after getting the next day's Daily and no notice I went down to the front desk and asked about it- "that was today- so and so handles that- sorry" the next morning our cabin steward comes and says he delivers whatever he gets ( so they blame it on him- because they can)

  6. We are now in Bermuda. Boarding was 'easy' drove and got to the pier before 12- on the ship before 1- unfortunately it was a rainy cool day and the ship was booked to capacity- Cosmopolitan wasn't open for lunch and since cabins weren't available yet- most just spent time hanging out at the Oceanview, not thinking about the rest of us- we finally ended up getting a hot dog and sitting on a lounge eating it by the pool

I was glad we made dinner reservations online for the first night ( we had Select) - there was just the 2 of us- I recommend that if you have a family and get stuck with Select- make reservations online for every night before the cruise- we booked just the first night- once on board you can only book one night in advance- could be a big pain in the ***

  7. The day we spent with Heidi was probably the "best" day of touring, with any guide, in 40 some years of travelling. She totally customizes the tours. If you don't eat fish, she'll get you something else. "Oh - this place looks nice!" and that's where you'll stop. During our tour, she invited a friend to join us for a picnic in Somers Garden (friend works at a popular historic site) and he met us, bringing various local food & treats to try. He mentioned spotting sea turtles near the fort so off we went to find the turtles. Later we ran into her friend and his elderly mum while getting ice cream. Yes, we saw all the various sights, but we also stopped on the side of a small, rural road to feed bread to wild chickens. We met some lovely locals. We got locked inside the Botanical Gardens (but that's another story!!). We laughed so much. We took great photos all over the island. We shopped for souvenirs at the lighthouse (best prices). It was a perfect day. You're going to have a great time.

So many people book the least expensive tours today, I have learned to look past that ($ 20, 30, 40 pp savings) One has to look past the savings and read between the lines about the experience- We have found that on other cruises with other local excursions- all my research said the same about Heidi- so glad you had a great day- Soooo looking forward to our day next week- will report back here on our return

  8. Like a previous poster- my wife and I dress for each other- really don't care about everyone else. I must say that I have always enjoyed people watching and what they bring to the night. On a cruise not too long ago on NCL- who brags about being casual- we were blown away with the amount of pax who went over the top with outfits for 'elegant' nights ( and I left my tux at home)- granted it was around the holidays- I should have known.

Anyway, we like to get dressed up for dinner- every night, but that's just us ( like another said- "it's dinner, not Applebees") I won't wear a jacket ant tie every night, will wear a tux/ dinner jacket for the 2 nights and we will 'dress up' every other night- and enjoy the view

  9. Our last cruise on the Silhouette we would enjoy late nights at the Sky Bar aft enjoying a guitar player under the stars and the wake of the ship.

The Summit has a similar bar- the Ocean View- but looking at the recent dailies- it doesn't seem be have any live entertainment there at night- maybe it's because all of the recent sailings have been in cool weather- or is this the norm. One would think once we get into warmer weather- things move outside- tell me I won't have to spend my evenings inside next week in Bermuda

  10. We have done 17 cruises on Celebrity and I can't remember a Connections meet & greet that the Captain has not attended. Also the Guest Relations Mgr, Hotel Director, Food & Beverage Mgr, Staff Captain, Chief Engineer & Head of Housekeeping and often others. The Cruise Director introduces them and the Captain speaks briefly. Many stay for a short time and mingle. No need to invite them.

Glad to hear that some stay and mingle- I have never been part of a roll call with so little chatter- one might think the cruise is next year, not next week

  11. We have had some great connections parties on our last few cruises and had huge turn outs from the staff including the Captain, the hotel director, cruise director and many more. The last two we have around 100 people registered and so much of the staff showed up the captain had to assure us that he did leave a few more on the bridge to drive the ship.

    Thanks , Nice to hear

  12. We're on the June 4, 2017 Summit Cruise and it been awhile since our last =X= cruise. I know the get together is hosted by X , but what are your experiences with who/ what/ how many of the senior officers attend- can we expect the captain there ( we'll be at sea)- would it help to send invitations to those we would like to attend? It helped on other cruise lines

  13. I have pictures of the Summit Dailies for Bermuda Sailing May 7-May 14th but I can't figure out how to upload the pictures. It keeps telling me I have an error and my Upload Failed. I'll keep working on it.

Thanks for your help-if you could look at the dailies for sea days and let me know what live entertainment was available before dinner ( and times) that would be a big help

  14. We're on the 6/4 Summit Bermuda cruise with Select Dining- our ship is full for this cruise- we don't like to have to wait to get seated and we also enjoy listening to the live entertainment in the evening- we usually don't go to the shows- I have asked for copies of the dailies but haven't seen any so far- I'm just trying to plan my evenings. I know I can still make dinner reservations with 'Select' . On other ships/ cruise lines the evening live musical entertainment started at 5:30- 6:30 and again after 8:30 or 9:30 is this the same on the Summit- we are 'early to bed' people but still like our 'live' music

    Any help is appreciated

  15. Happens. Don't worry. You can get luggage tags at the dock. Just bring your passport and relax.

I know we can get tags at the pier- but I'm driving, dropping off the DW along with our bags and really don't want another thing to deal with

Personally if I were in your situation I would be calling Celebrity rather then asking on this forum.:)

This is the place to get help without spending a lot of time on hold with the cruise line. This seems to be an ongoing problem- some say it's with windows 10- I tried to resolve it both with my X account and with cruisingpower- with no results- many problems can be figured out and resolved with help from CC- and yes sometimes you do have to call- those who book direct will usually call- but many who book with an online agency or a regular TA are hesitant for a number of reasons- that's one of the reasons many of us are here- just to help out- in the end I had to call

  16. My daughters and I are booked on the Summit for a cruise leaving June 4. I have an online account, but I can't find cruise documents or baggage tags. What am I doing wrong?

I also had problems with my docs. After doing my check in I would see on the top of the page a tab to check for luggage tags and never saw anything about my e-docs. whenever I clicked on the link for tags a new page would come up saying they weren't ready yet. I finally called X and aksed the rep to email me the docs ( the tags are included)

Come on over and say hi on the Roll Call

  17. Thanks.

I was thinking about Rickey's Tours which cost $65 PP for a 6 hour tour but van holds 14 people. I would prefer smaller vehicle/less people.

His is 5 hrs- check out Bermuda Byway/ Heidi- 10 pax- 6 hrs and includes lunch
