  1. Further update, after contacting SS today to try and find out where my reimbursement was, since their form letter to my submisstion to guest relations indicated that they would contact me by Monday and of course no word yet, I was finally told that my TA would need to submit the reimbursement to the exact same email address that the Future Sales Director, who knew I worked with a TA, told me to send the request to. Of course, no word for why I wasn't contacted about this, or the fact that my TA was both copied on the email and referenced in the letter.
  2. Looks like the Moon is finally back on track again. Has anybody from the Jan 6 sailing had any communication from Silversea regarding the reimbursement on incurred travel expenses or the FCC that is supposed to be given as a result of the trip's disruptions?
  3. Ugh. My Covid experience in 2022 was pretty horrendous, from the handling on the ship to the customer service after. If it had been June 2020, then i would have understood what I had to go through but it was September 2022, almost 2.5 years after the pandemic. They eventually made good on the situation but it took months.
  4. have you submitted your expenses yet?
  5. has anybody heard any communication from Silversea regarding reimbursement of travel expenses associated with the itinerary change or the Future Cruise Credit?
  6. Have you already fully paid for all of those cruises? Maybe you can apply the FCC to the ones you already have?
  7. Just exited the Suez Canal. Definitely an interesting trip and a small consolation for skipping the other ports.
  8. Just exited the Suez Canal. Definitely an interesting trip, and a small consolation for missing the other ports (in some cases twice!)
  9. Yes, now going directly to Athens to disembark on the 16th. Waiting for clearance to go through the Suez right now.
  10. Letters at the door this morning that the ship is now headed to Athens. I guess once you’ve decided that the ship can’t go through the Gulf of Aden, no need to “waste” time in the Red Sea.
  11. The original version of the Jan 6 segment was a 10 day Aqaba to Aqaba with multiple stops in Egypt instead of Salalah and Muscat. People who had booked this trip have already been compensated when the trip was changed to end in Muscat, so yes, those people are now getting something close to what they originally booked. Still uncertainty though about the change in travel plans for returning home after the trip ends.
  12. Both island excursions in SA cancelled due to “ lack of interest”.
  13. The website I suggested - you tell them what country you need a visa for and they make it the appropriate size.
  14. I ended up using https://visafoto.com/ to get the photo to upload correctly . It was very fast , but costs $7 per person.
  15. Does the dress code apply while on board the ship or just off-ship?
  16. Are you able to post the communications on the dress code?
  17. You just asked to change and it was granted with no penalty?
  18. "no word" from SS means that there have been no changes, which is what they will tell you when they call. It would have been great to get a notice addressing the security concerns, but then that would rile up anybody who for whatever reason wasn't already concerned , specifically because SS hasn't reached out to them.
  19. Yes, at this point, SS says that the cruise is going ahead, departing from Aqaba on Jan 6. KauiJim says that he was told that the segment between Muscat and Dubai was changing but the details would not be revealed until right after the New Year (there are 3-4 different threads that involve this particular segment). What we do not know is why SS thinks it is safe to transit the Gulf of Aden while there are drone attacks on ships in the area, such that oil companies are now deciding to go around Africa instead.
  20. E-tickets for the Jan 6 embarkation from Aqaba were sent today, but presumably if SS is going to do anything drastic with the ships currently planned routing (such as rerouting around Africa) the Dec 22 Athens departure would be it.
  21. E-tickets for the Jan 6 embarkation at Aqaba were sent this morning. Otherwise, no other word from SS. It appears that a "US led operation" will help to protect ships in the area. https://www.cnn.com/2023/12/18/politics/commercial-ships-red-sea-gulf-of-aden-houthi-attacks/index.html
  22. Do you know if there are other ships currently scheduled to go through the Aden at the same time as the Moon?
  23. I know at least two people with changes being reported were continuing onto the next segment for their trip. There is the 10 day trip to Muscat and a longer trip that continues in to Mumbai.
  24. Hi Martina, there is no change supposedly to the segment that ends in Muscat so if you are getting off the ship there than this probably explains why you are not being offered any options.
