  1. We're currently booked at the Cambria Hotel for a pre-cruise overnight in mid-May. Neither of us has ever been to NOLA before, but the hotel seems to have solid reviews online.
  2. Another recent instance of a shockingly quick turnaround. My wife recently applied for her first passport. The application was made Friday, 16 February, from central Mississippi. The Department of State received the application materials the following Wednesday, 21 February. Her passport arrived this past Friday, 1 March. No rush processing or anything, only two weeks from application to delivery.
  3. It's not a defect with the food so much as it's people having preferences and Carnival having options. Some prefer crispy bacon, some prefer floppy, others prefer one of the options in between the two extremes. While someone with your taste may refer to floppy bacon as undercooked, others would refer to crispy bacon as overcooked.
  4. Those saying it takes 8+ drinks to break even either aren't doing the math correctly, aren't accounting for the wide variety of non-alcoholic drinks covered, or perhaps a bit of both, At $12/drink (which is a rounded average across various sorts of alcoholic drinks: the average cost for beer alone would be lower, wine and frozen drinks are in that ballpark, and cocktails higher) you'd need to average 6 drinks/day/person though that only takes into account alcohol. Cheers also allows unlimited soda, bottled water, specialty (meaning anything but the most basic, available at the buffet/MDR) coffee, milkshakes, energy drinks, and a couple of others, which must be factored in as well, bringing down the number of alcoholic drinks to hit the break-even point. You can use a calculator, such as this one, to help you determine if the package would work for your cabin.
