  1. Thank you. We love the aft cabins especially when it comes to areas of the world with stunning vistas and views. I know the ride may not be quite as smooth as the middle, but its worth the views. Fortunately, we have sailed on smaller ships (Oceania), so we are used to it. I didn't bother to look at the deck plans because this is the first time I've encountered the theater being at the rear of the ship and on upper levels. Lesson learned! Thank you for the wise advice of checking the deck plans BEFORE choosing a cabin. Cheers!
  2. Just heard from our TA and she was successful in moving us to Deck 9!
  3. Thank you for the advice. I’ve reached out to our TA, but we may be out of luck now. Looks like all Aft Cabins in our category are sold out. Whatever happens, we will make the best of it and have. Wonderful time. 😀
  4. Thanks for the reminder. Having our TA check about moving, but looks like we may be stuck now. We will make the most of it whatever happens. 😀
  5. I have another question for those who have sailed on the Norwegian Sun. We are currently booked in an aft cabin on Deck 8 that appears to be directly above the Theatre. Has anyone traveled in one of these cabins previously and can you share your experience with noise level? My research showed there may be shows in the theater at 7:30 and again at 9:30. Thanks in advance for any advice, experience or input you can provide.
  6. We are on Deck 8 in an aft facing balcony. It looks like the theatre is just below us. Has anyone had any experience with this? Will it be noisy? I looked and there appears to be the same room type available on Deck 9. Just wondering if we need to put some space between us and the theatre.
  7. Thank you. We are only traveling with 3 other people, so total of 5. Appreciate the help.
  8. Great! Thank you for the information. We are looking forward to our first time on NCL. Appreciate your response and help.
  9. Thanks, I was referring to the main dining area, not specialty. I was aware we need to book in advance for those. I had just seen some chatter on another page about another NCL ship that took an hour to get seated for the Main Dining Room and several people mentioned making reservations in advance. I appreciate your input and advice! Thanks again!
  10. Sailing on Norwegian Sun in January 2025 and wondering if we should reserve main dining in advance or just plan to show up when we are ready to have dinner. Appreciate any advice or suggestions. First time on Norwegian. Thanks!
  11. Greetings. We will be taking our first Norwegian Cruise in January 2025 aboard the Norwegian Sun. I have seen a few stories about the long waiting periods in the main dining rooms on some ships if you fail to reserve in advance. Has anyone been on the Sun recently who can chime in with thoughts? Just trying to decide if we need to reserve in advance for the MDR. Thanks for any help or advice you can give! Cheers!
  12. We are booked on the May 18 Western Caribbean Cruise and received an email saying they were offering this experience complimentary to suite guest (we are in a Penthouse Suite) and we could call and reserve or they would call us shortly. We did book before 12/23, however, I didn't see that mentioned in the email we received. The first time I called, the person who answered said we would have to reserve on ship at the Concierge Lounge. I called again yesterday and was able to get reservations booked. I think it may be too early for a 2025 sailing, but I would suggest you call Princess to confirm. Best of Luck to you. We have heard great things and are looking forward to the experience!
  13. Thank you! This is encouraging to know.
  14. Thank you for sharing this. Just ordered for our upcoming cruise to Iceland and Norway.
  15. We are on this cruise, first time on Princess. We were advised by another traveler who lives in the UK that the National Express was a good choice. It was quite inexpensive and we paid an extra $5 each to be able to take a later coach should our plane be delayed. We are arriving a couple of days in advance, so the Princess transfer was not an option, but it seems the National Express is cheaper than their transfer. If you book a train, be sure to check the schedule and transfers. We will be taking the train from Southampton to Paris after the cruise and our TA has advised we will need to make 2-3 transfers between Southampton and London and then a straight shot from London to Paris.
  16. Thank you for the information. We are in a Penthouse Suite. First time on Princess. Will we be able to go immediately to our cabin and make the call?
  17. Apologies if this question has been asked and answered, but couldn't seem to find a thread. We will be on a 14 day cruise aboard the Sky princess in May and are contemplating trying to gain reservations for the Chef's Table (celebrating milestone birthdays and wedding anniversary). From the research I have been able to do, it seems we can't book until we board the ship and then we need to call DINE or go directly to where they are doing various dining reservations and "request" to be put on a list for reservations. If anyone has any knowledge about this, would greatly appreciate knowing: 1) Is it worth the effort; 2) Do they offer it every night; 3) Is my research correct regarding not being able to request until on board ship? Thank you in advance for any help.
