  1. SUN P arrives in FTL on 10/9 ...

SUN P departs FTL on 10/14 for a 5 day "inaugural"?

what happens between 10/9 and departure on 10/14?

has a VIP / TAgents / already being offered to TA's?   or are my dates not right?  I may have remembered that a cruise for TA's is in the works, but not open to regular cruisers at this time?

I do remember on SKY P a 3 day pre-inaugural was suddenly opened prior to our cruise when it came over

Just looking at some 2026 cruises and noticed deposits are now refundable up until final payment date.

This is new for us in UK.

About time we got treated the same as our friends on the other side of the Pond😀

OK, just be sure to let the forum know when PLUS or Premier packages are discounted , so we can jump on that ... on this side of the "pond"

Seems Princess might be trying the Holland America method.  New cruisers usually don’t mind but, like you, I don’t like it much either.  I guess all that we can do is voice our opinions until they are heard.

work with a TA or CVP to see available cabins?

I will make sure to have this escalated for your loyalty status to be corrected on the app. As for your dining, you can be able to book your main dining anytime once your loyalty status has been corrected but for the specialty dining, regardless of the guest loyalty, the booking should really be fully paid first to take advantage of the items included in the Princess Premier.  per CHAT

I really apologize for this, XXX. I have refreshed your booking already so hopefully, this will update the app's data. But I will make sure to have this escalated to our higher support. The processing timeframe for the escalation ticket is up to 3 to 5 business days.

I will say, it's annoying when they get it wrong. Can you book specialty dining? I cannot. I'm sure you can clear up the loyalty level easier than I can clear up specialty dining. Not sure which is worse, they both would bother me. Good luck getting that resolved. I hope its a quick and easy fix.

    started a

'chat' - longer than normal  wait times.  and I can't book specialty and 'pay for' with dining credits - thought this might be the reason - but on SUN in October - with the changes coming, it may be too soon?

14 ahead of me in the 'que for CHAT - 🦄

Yes, and below my name it says elite in white lettering with a black background box. I've heard people have had issues with their loyalty level not showing up correctly. I think it can be cleared up with a message to Princess.

yep - profile pic, blue medallion - my name -

no white lettering or black background box

If you click on your profile you will see your loyalty level.

You don't really "see" your the specialty dinners. If you try to book and it works, your balance will be zero. At least, it does that for me, but I cannot book the reservation. It errors before the booking is completed.

thanks ... is the loyalty level the color of the medallion next to the profile pic?  If so, Princess has got some 'splainin to do since my medallion is BLUE - woo-hoo

  9. on the 'new' app - where does it show your captains circle level?  and if Plat or Elite with Premier - when can we book the 2 specialty dinners? - SUN P - October 2024? now or after June 17th?

Don't want to miss out on booking prior. Don't want to pay and get OBC once onboard. Don't want to hear about we've never had a problem booking onboard - well, we have. Not on a casino or suite.

I would say yes. Cruise lines know how much each port charges and the basis for the charge, ie per passenger, per passengers + crew, per vessel tonnage or some combination of multiple basis factors.

IRS is not involved. Income taxes are based on the total U.S. based income for the corporation. It's not on a port by port, cruise by cruise or cruise line by cruise line thing.

Taxes, Fees & Port Expenses, as used by us, may include any and all fees, charges, tolls and taxes imposed on us by governmental or quasi-governmental authorities, as well third party fees and charges arising from a vessel's presence in a harbor or port. Taxes, Fees & Port Expenses may include U.S. Customs fees, head taxes, Panama Canal tolls, dockage fees, wharfage fees, inspection fees, pilotage, air taxes, hotel or VAT taxes incurred as part of a land tour, immigration and naturalization fees, and Internal Revenue Service fees, as well as fees for navigation, berthing, stevedoring, baggage handling/storage and security services. Taxes, Fees, & Port Expenses may be assessed per guest, per berth, per ton or per vessel. Assessments calculated on a per ton or per vessel basis will be spread over the number of guests on the Ship. Taxes, Fees & Port Expenses are subject to change and Princess reserves the right to collect any increases in effect at the time of sailing even if the fare has already been paid in full.

so, you are stating - that NO IRS taxes are included in the Port Fees and Taxes amount? - or that?

  12. 33 minutes ago, skynight said:

Yes that is correct. The way I read the CA law fares, port fees & taxes can be listed separately, have to be of equal prominence and there has to be a total amount shown. The fees and taxes do not have to be hidden within a fare. I would imagine that if a port is missed that these charges would be refunded as they are now.

say on a  7 day cruise - Caribbean East - 4 ports - Is there a pre-cruise way that shows the breakdown as to how much are "PORT FEEs" per port, of the $ 150 or so that is port fees

AND TAXES...  including IRS taxes ...

And this is crazy-- just today, I also got the same form letter, same $50 OBC offer -- for a complaint early last year about being charged $13 for a drink I didn't order on the last day. I think $50 is pretty awesome for that complaint, LOL, but not so much yours.

some of my best posts are ... ones I delete before posting, huh?

  14. Hasn't this been tried before? New California law?

Cruise lines love to hype their value. But the low prices most dangle don’t tell the full story — for now. Soon, some of the country’s largest lines will better reflect reality.

Starting July 1, operators including Royal Caribbean International, Carnival Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises and Princess Cruises will include the cost of port expenses, taxes and other fees in the price that potential passengers see. The additional charges can tack on more than $100 to the fare, or even double the cheapest base price on some short itineraries.
