  1. We sailed on the QE2 in 1999. At that time my husband needed a tuxedo. I have some questions about 2024 on Cunard ships. Does he still need a tuxedo? Is there a dance band every night for rock ‘n’ roll? Are there several different types of music on board or is it mostly classical? Do they have games during the day like the Princess and celebrity ships?

We are on now.  Weather can be unpredictable. Today in Belfast, when we left the ship we were all wearing sweatshirts or sweaters and light coats.  It got warmer but started to out and even hail.  Then it was sunny and 60.

I brought medium weight seaters, a lightweight coat (heavier than a raincoat) and a rain parka. Didn’t need raincoat until today.

The ship is warm (indoors). You can wear lightweight clothes and be fine.  You can wear sweaters and be fine. It has been too cold and/or windy to sit on deck before today.

I have worn a dressy very lightweight blouse at the “lightest” and a cashmere sweater at the other extreme.

Porch and Lawn Club were COLD, even with heaters. You need outdoor clothing - heavy sweater or coat.

Thank you. The temps say it's been cloudy this week for you.  It's really so much nicer to travel when the sun is out.   The Lawn Grill is our favorite place to have dinner, but it is in the open air.  I  check the temps everyday and daytime it's 55-60, but nighttime on a ship will be colder. Do they have any way of enclosing the Lawn Grill at night?  Thank you for the info.

my daughter Emily wanted to do a cooking class, After doing a lot of research I found a tour on Get Your Guide, called Learn to make Dutch pancakes in a beautiful Amsterdam canal home.

I'm trying to find this excursion.  Could you possibly help me out?  I only see one that costs about $26 per person, but I don't think it's in someone's home.  It's 45 minutes long.

  4. I'll be posting this here and in the Silhouette page.  I'm selecting clothes right now and would like to know how warm or chilly the venues are on the Silhouette.  I realize each venue is different, but I just want to get an idea. Are the main areas on Deck 4 and 5 very cold, needing a sweater or are they on the warmish side?  (It might help to know I'm from South Florida.)  Now, I always have sweaters with me and I know it's cold outside, but I just wanted an idea of the temps on the ship.  Sometimes the dining room and especially the stage area are freezing.  I hope you can help me out.

    Silhouette in July for Norwa

We're probably on the one right before you, going around Great Britain.  Norway is quite pretty, BTW.  We were on the Silhouette twice many years ago.  Really want a dance venue.  On the Explorer in April, the dance venue was overtaken by Park West Art people who were invited on board for that cruise.  I was not happy about that.  GOTTA DANCE!

  7. We will be sailing on the the Silhouette June 24. Right now the app does not show any entertainment in the Theater venue.  Anyone on board now or recently who will share the production shows and other types of entertainment that are presented?

I know the entertainment changes, but, importantly, is there a rock and roll band where we can dance every night?  Which venue has the band?

Is there an adult Silent Disco? I saw there is one on the first night in the kids venue.

Thank you! We are excited about our upcoming cruise.

    Captain Tasos Kafetzis joined him,

We did a two day Ascent (in connection with United Way) when the Ascent arrived in Fort Lauderale.  We didn't realize the captain was Kafetzis. He and his brother raced lifeboats with my husband and others during our cruise to nowhere.

  9. Please tell me the name of the captain of the Silhouette now. we were on the Silhouette years ago and the captain had a great sense of humor. We’re wondering if it is the same person.

I've traveled for the past 20 years with sleeping pills and never once was stopped or asked for such a certificate.    Personally I will continue to travel without going to the bother of the certificate.

Me too!  My 15mg temazapam is not what they are looking for!  You have given me courage!

What makes you think you need one?

My sleeping pill is on the list. I contacted them by filling in a form on the site and they responded that I wasn't a Netherland citizen and should contact the Dutch embassy here.  I believe this is going too far for a cruise.  I don't think they are coming for me.  And, as another person wrote above, many people travel and they aren't stopped.

Not mine.  Do you think what I described is good enough? Once you are in Australia, are you going to re-distribute your meds into a daily case?  I really have too many, taken at different times.  Nothing too extraordinary, just allergy, asthma, Gerd stuff and vitamins.  And what will you do with the vitamins.  We are getting to know each other pretty well!

    their original packaging

I sorted my meds into a 20 day container.  But I have a list of meds from my pharmacy. There are too many containers to bring in my carry-on.  Will the list suffice?

a paper Rx for each prescription from my Dr. to carry on with us?

Hi! What I did is fill out a form at my drug store (which is a Publix supermarket) and they printed a form of all my medications within a time framework and it can be any date you select.  Mine is actually too long because I started it from last year and many meds are just repeated.  In any case, I just put the list in an outside pocket of my carryone.

  15. I just got off the Explorer of the Seas from a Caribbean cruise.  I dressed up but very few women were dressy. Many wore nice pants and tops.  Some were very UNdressy.  I'm wondering if guests on European cruises are dressier than Caribbean? I'm thinking of only wearing nice pants and tops instead of glitzy dresses.  It's a matter of having to fly with smaller suitcases also and packing less.

We are sailing on the Silhouette in June around Great Britain.  Andd, eventually, I'll have the same questions about the Edge in Australia/New Zealand.

What say you?  I do know what the cruise line indicates, but that has nothing to do with reality!

    Read your Travel Summary.

Everything that you have included on your booking will be shown there.

It says Sanctuary on my cruise summary.  So, does that absolutely include the Premier package even though I booked before April 23,2024? From reading all of these responses, it sounds like my booking summary should read Sanctuary plus Premier. Otherwise, I don't get the Premier which is NOT the response I received from the Princess representative.

  17. I'm confused.  I booked my cruise before April 23, 2024. On the website it says if you book after April 23, the Premier Package is included in your booking.  However, I received an email saying we have been upgraded to the Sanctuary status (We booked an Owner's Suite) which is supposed to include the Premier package.  Yesterday, I did a chat and was told we do not have the Premier Package.  Today, I called and was told the Sanctuary status includes the Premier package and it says on our summary that we have Sanctuary status.

Do we have the Premier package? The Princess rep on the phone said yes.  Can anyone here tell me if this is true? I hope my writing isn't as confused as I am!

  18. We will be on the silhouette in June around Great Britain. Our European crew is less dressy than the Caribbean cruises? We are on a Royal Caribbean explorer of the Caribbean Cruise right now and people are not dressed at all. I’m wondering if that is the standard in Europe now?
