  1. I know it is not the normal milk they have on a cruise ship, but has anyone who has that condition been able to get it?

We are on a B2B of 26 days and it is a long time to have to take the pills to overcome the symptoms

  2. The reason the EU is considering making Canadians and Americans require a visa to go into the EU is because Canada and the U.S. will not allow persons from Romania and I believe Bulgaria to enter their countries with out a visa.

The EU has said that ALL members of the EU have to be allowed in without visas.

If Canada and the U.S. DO NOT allow them in without a visa then we have to have one for the EU.

The cost talked about is $100 for the Visa.

It has nothing to do with Americans coming into Canada

Strange, the Government of Canada doesn't seem to know about this: "As of March 15, 2016, visa-exempt foreign nationals are expected to have an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to fly to or transit through Canada. Exceptions include U.S. citizens..."

  3. We are doing a B2B with the change in Istanbul. Just got news from our TA that the second cruise(Nov 14-28 on Constellation), which is a repositioning cruise, has dropped in price.

The first cruise had dropped in price a number of times since we originally booked, but to have a repositioning cruise drop in price is not the norm.

Guess more people are being scared off because of the problems in Istanbul

  4. For a great report

    Hello fellow cruisers!

I've just started writing a trip report of my recent cruise around United Arab Emirates and Oman. I sailed on MSC Musica and visited Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Khor al Fakkan (Fujairah), Muscat and Khasab.

It might give you some ideas on what you can do/see in these ports.

    Regards,

    TeDaKi

  5. We heard the same BUT when you go on the Cruise Port site in Abu Dhabi, it says they are both open 24 hours in the new cruise terminal opening this year.

The bulk of the flights all go out between about Midnight to 4 a.m., so there has to be a way.

I wrote the Tourist people in Abu Dhabi and heard nothing back at all.

We are lucky in that we are in Abu Dhabi for 2-1/2 days, so if we have to get off early, we will.

If you hear anymore, please let me know and I will do the same

I'm going to have a similar flight situation as you. I was told (by Celebrity Cruises) that I would not be able to disembark the ship until Immigration opened and that was typically around 7 or 8 am. I would opt for flying out that night/next morning.

I would imagine like any port, you would go through Immigration at the port and then at the airport leaving.

  6. Thank you so much.

When you left the ship, when you left the ship, did you have to go through Immigration and Customs when you were going to the airport?

Our plane leaves at 2:30 a.m. and heard horror stories about Immigration and Customs not open to get off the ship?

Check out this link. The cruise port is shown as Zayed Port, bottom of the map just left of centre.

  7. Hi Jenna

Thanks for the info. I am on the Roll Call but never got this info.

I will have to watch it more closely

We and others on the cruise got the email from Celebrity RE the change and it was posted in the Roll Call as well. May be worth watching the roll call to get notification of these changes if you're not directly.

    Happy sailing,

    Jenna

  8. If this question has been answered before, I apologize.

We are docking in Abu Dhabi in November and flying out of Abu Dhabi Airport.

What is the cheapest/quickest way to get to the airport from the cruise terminal

If Celebrity has a transfer it would be expensive and only go certain times I am sure.

  9. Well they changed the itinerary and took away any extra time in Istanbul.

I had spoken with Celebrity this week and was told that the itinerary had not changed and that we would be arriving in Istanbul on the 13th of November at 2 p.m. and leaving on the 14th at 11 p.m, giving us an overnight.

I checked today and the 13th is now a SEA DAY. We get into Istanbul at 7 a.m. and leave at 11 p.m.

I know Celebrity can change itinerary's, and yes they are still going to have some time in Istanbul.

Just making folks aware of the change

  11. You are so right DYKWIA

I have been on every continent on earth and been in countries that were in civil wars, train stations that had been blown up while I was there and the fear is NOT the reason we are concerned, hell I lived in the U. S. for about 10 yrs and had neighbors shot.

The real reason for me is that this year my wife and I celebrate our 50th anniversary and had planned this b2b trip for over a year and yes it is costing us a lot of money, on top of being a Canadian with the low dollar, but I just want to know what the hell X is going to do? if they are cancelling Turkey and Israel, fine, just say so. WE wanted to go back to these 2 countries again. If they are cancelling then have the balls to say so and we will find another way to celebrate our 50th, just don't jack everyone around.

QUOTE=DYKWIA;48857398]I think for some it is less about being scared that they will be in mortal danger but more a concern about booking a cruise at significant expense including certain ports only to have the cruise changed significantly at short notice / late in the day to include ports that they have no interest in going to.

We would love to do an Eastern Med Cruise but are reluctant to book a cruise featuring interesting ports in Turkey when, at the moment, we think its likely that it it will change and who knows where we will end up and how many overnights will be thrown in

A lot of cruise lines are bailing, cant see how Celebrity is standing still?

Just a note that if Istanbul is where the cruise starts or ends it really cannot be changed. Doing so would cost Celebrity MILLIONs as the complete travel plans for thousands and thousands would need to be changed. This cost and the huge effort to do it make that almost an impossibility. Totally understand your feeling. Personally I would visit Istanbul again tomorrow and spend a week.
  13. We are on the Connie for a B2B starting Nov2 out of Rome. We will be arriving in Istanbul at 2 p.m. on the 13th of Nov, which makes it too late to see anything as the sun is down about 5 p.m. AND are not leaving until 11 p.m. on the 14th, so we are there overnight but were supposed to have an extra day there which is gone. No word if Celebrity is going to have tours that day.

What concerns me more is that at the end of 2015 they cancelled all of the Israeli ports and aren't saying anything about Israel for this year.

If we lose Istanbul and Israel that is about 5 days that would be changed.

I am not interested in the Greek Islands or an extra day in Athens.

They haven't changed the itinerary on the website yet but Celebrity have announced that this year if Istanbul is a cruise port it will be changed but if it is a start or finish of a cruise there will be no overnighter. I am picking you will arrive in Istanbul at the end of your cruise a day later but have your overnighter in Athens which seems to be the way things are happening
