  1. Love the Winemaker's Dinner. We have done it 3 times and it does not disappoint. We like it as well as Chef's Table. I like the Chef's Table, but do not need another Cookbook! However, if you have never experienced it, the experience is well worth it.

We booked the Star of Honolulu for a sun set dinner cruise. They have three levels for choice of type of diner you want buffet, standard sit down, and higher end experience. It's only a few hours for us it will be 5:30 - 7:30 check in 4:45. It is near where I was told we are docking on Princess in Oct.

Now just need to find something to do we haven't done before earlier in the day.

I just checked out their website. I am anxious to see how it goes for you. We are on Princess in February and was looking for a luau or sunset dinner . Nice suggestion.

  3. My brother ran into a similar problem. American cancelled his flight to Cleveland so EZ air rescheduled his return flight to Detroit, 200 miles away. Apparently from what I remember, Princess schedules a certain number of seats on planes. There were other flights available, but it was so close to the cruise that the price difference was outrageous. He ended up canceling the cruise.

  4. We sailed in May. Some of the movies  were Belfast, Spencer, Respect, No Time to Die, Eyes of Tammy Faye, the 355, The Father, King Richard,  Dune and West Side Story. Those are the ones I remember. Plenty of movies from 2021 and 2022

Princess switched ships on my cruise, app does not show right ship now.  Cruise not till December.  Waiting to see if shows up with update.

I have the same issue. I cancelled the when the Ruby was redeployed to Galveston and booked 2 cruises out of LA. One shows up but the other overlaps the dates of my se and cruise. It shows me still on the Ruby and disembarking on a sea day😂😂  I talked to medallion support and am in the queue to get fixed.

My opinion is that things are in turmoil and everyone needs to just go with the flow. If one excursion being cancelled is going to ruin the trip it is probably too soon after Covid (still during to some extent) to expect everything to be as it was before Covid.

We ere on Royal Princess in Alaska May 2-14 and there were some cancelled and some reduced capacity excursions. Exact reasons weren’t given and there are likely several, different reasons. But lack of man power by excursion operators is bound to be one of the reasons. There was something about an excursion at Juneau that involved a boat to Sitka that was shut down due to the entire boat crew having Covid. some of these problems are going to happen last minute.

In Sitka the new cruise pier is at least 5 miles out of town and you should have seen the mess with the shuttles from pier to town when the ovation of the Seas tied up beside us. We only had 1600 passengers but rumour was they had 4000. They will sort these problems out eventually but best to remain flexible and enjoy the holiday rather than getting bent out of shape. JMHO…

We were on that cruise too. When we got back on our bus at the end of the tour in Sitka, they were calling for all available drivers to come to the port . We also heard that the Ovation had 4000 and apparently, the port was unaware(?) so they said that they were coming in at that time. People were trying to walk to Sitka. It was crazy!

  7. There is a crew shortage everywhere. It also depends on capacity. I was on the May 2nd cruise and we only had 1650 passengers which is under 50%.Staffing was at about  70%. Service for us was great.  We never waited for a table and did not feel forced into 2 dining rooms.

  8. So sorry for your disappointment.  I do know that Alaska is experiencing the same employment issues and some vendors simply can't deliver.  Why it is still listed is anyone's guess. We were in Alaska last week and could not even get near the glacier at Endicott.  There was too much ice in the water to navigate through safely.  I hope that you can still enjoy the beauty of Alaska.

  9. We took the shuttle from Seattle to the ship. Our luggage did not need to be removed. When we got to the border, we got off, went through customs and got back on the bus on the Canadian side. When we got to Canada Place, our luggage was handled from the bus. That was a nice surprise . We did not take it going back. We flew out of Vancouver.

Do you recall if those were played in the rooms as well? Wondering if we fall asleep watching a movie at MUTS, if we can finish it in the room on another day haha!

They were. In fact, we watched them all in the room. It was way to cold to watch on deck!

  11. Gift cards are a pain for both the cruiser and the TA. I do know that they have to call Princess with the card info. Anyone who has tried to call recently knows how time consuming this is. I thought I could use it to book online excursions but that is not possible either. Also, hang on to the card until you actually cruise. If for some reason your cruise is cancelled,  the amount goes back on the gift card.

I hope you are able to get this straightened out

    I can't answer your question.

I can tell you that I load up a ton of books on my discontinued Kindle (Voyage) before I leave. I use OverDrive through my library so everything I am getting is free (loaner).

This way - when on the ship, I don't need to download anything. Just make sure the books download before you leave for the ship.

I use overdrive as well. I can download 15 books.
