  1. Did a cruise tour on Princess and found it very interesting and informative. Yes there was a 9 hour train ride but you could get up snd move around. There was also a dining area with a limited but good tasting menu. If you go on a cruise tour expecting 5 star hotels and Michelin dining you are going on the wrong trip. Alaska is rustic and wild so expect that in everything.

  2. We used to do the Seattle to Vancouver bus trip and return the same way.  We often visit out DD who lives in Vancouver.  We finally decided all the extra cost, hassle and problems were not worth the savings. We now just fly straight to Vancouver and arrive faster and more relaxed.  Each to their own though.

We will not be purchasing a package at all.  We don’t drink daily and when we have a glass of wine, we each have 1 glass only.  We don’t do the casual dining, nor the exercise classes.  My last cruise I got to see the special dessert and I am not interested.  The only thing we would do is the standard tipping amount and the obc covers it.  We haven’t booked excursions because this is approx. the 5 th trip thru the canal.

i just wanted to know if during my cruise, on individual days when wanted, I could purchase Wi-Fi.

    thanks

To answer your question with no add on pushing. Yes you can.

I have to reply to the "disrespect" comment. I don't truly mean to be disrespectful. I've worked in the fine arts area for 39 years now. I used to be a performer and though it's difficult to believe nowadays, I once used to be young. I've known several dancers who have worked on cruise ships and many other venues working on Broadway with productions of Phantom of the Opera, Newsies, Will Roger's Follies, Jersey Boys.....

I simply want a story!! Both Princess and Celebrity seem to be willing to spend a great deal on sets, designs, costumes, lighting effects and the theaters themselves. I don't mind at all if Disney is "rehashing" the stories that they made popular in their animated cartoons.

Also, Disney put out some original productions for their cruises i.e.

Disney Dreams - An Enchanted Classic,

Twice Charmed: An Original Twist on the

Cinderella Story, The Golden Mickeys, Disney's Believe and Disney Seas Adventure.

Of course it takes some money to hire a writer and a composer/lyricist. However, I can think of a dozen or more associates who would jump at the chance to write an original story that could be adapted to a musical. Any young singer worth his or her salt is going to have to learn new material and learn it quickly. If they don't have those abilities, they won't get the job. I don't think it's asking an unreasonable request.

As it is, the production shows on Princess and Celebrity seem to be about as entertaining as old Lawrence Welk shows except the music on Lawrence Welk was better.

It is not only about your need but the entertainment of others. Yet you did disrespect the many young entertainers who work hard to entertain others. And every time you post you add to it. Good luck finding what you need.

  5. It's a pity with your background the disrespectful name calling of "so-called singer" and "a dozen young idiots".  These are professionally trained singers and dancers who are very good at their craft. No need to slam them.

Thank you for your excellent, detailed review and lovely photos!

I was also on your cruise, and I had a great time. I hadn't sailed with Princess since 2016, so I was quite impressed with this beautiful newer ship and its Medallion technology.

I enjoyed the food very much.  I ate most of my breakfasts in the buffet, lunches & snacks in the International Cafe or the pool deck (pizza, or burgers from the Salty Dog Cafe), and all but one dinner in the dining room. Our travel agent gave us complimentary vouchers for Sabatini's (Italian) for one dinner, which was excellent. However, with 6 full-size courses - there was way too much food to eat.

I went to most of the shows, and especially enjoyed the 3 production shows by the Singers & Dancers. The shows were different from the usual ones I had seen on other cruise lines, especially "5 Skies" - but they were so well done. I also thought the first Alfred & Seymour show in the theater was much funnier than the later show in the Vista Lounge, but we were seated way in the back of the lounge and had trouble seeing and hearing everything. The tributes to Elton John and ABBA were excellent, as was the Farewell show.

All of the ports were new to me, except St. Thomas, so I booked a tour in each port. I used to book tours with independent operators or join other people's non-ship tours. However, I've gotten lazier in my "older" age, so I used onboard credit to book ship tours. The highlight for me was the Balata Gardens in Martinique, which was gorgeous. I wish our tour of Nelson's Dockyards in Antigua had been longer, as we would've enjoyed more free time there. Our tour to Dominica visited Trafalgar Falls. I had no problem with the stairs, but I also wore my hiking shoes. A woman in our group fell on the stairs going down, and had to be carried back to the bus. When the shore excursion description and tour ticket warn about "steep and slippery" conditions and advise you to "wear sturdy shoes" - it's best to heed that advice!

I'm now looking forward to 2 upcoming Princess cruises - although both are on older ships: Sapphire in Alaska, and Emerald in the British Isles.

We saw that woman the fell. We were right behind them and it did take awhile to get her up and sat down.  Hope she was not injured too bad.

Been a while, but fairly unimpressive from my recollection.  Got the job done for a quick meal but if you want a good burger on embarkation day stop at five guys on shore before boarding the ship.

    Not at their prices.

Is O' Malley's opened for lunch as casual dinning? I know I wouldn't go there and pay for it for lunch. I thought most of those venues weren't open for lunch. But I am getting old and suffer from crs 🤣

Leaving on Enchanted on Thursday. Is Breakfast still available in the dining room most days? Just curious as we have not sailed Princess in about two years. Thanks folks.

As we are leaving the Enchanted Thursday there is breakfast in the Amalfi dining room from 7:00-9:00 am.
