My parents just back from a 10 day on the Pride.  The couple they were with did not feel good on the first day out.  They tested positive for Covid.  They spent the next 8 days in quarantine... inside cabin.. food was brought to them... they could not leave the room.  They finally let them out on the last sea day.

Was that their own inside cabin or did they get sent to a different cabin?

  2. I've never encountered the notorious party atmosphere that Carnival is said to have. I've never been on a cruise shorter than 7 days though, so I've always assumed that happens on the shorter weekend cruises. I agree that people who like to talk about this stereotype have either never been on a Carnival cruise, or have only taken short weekend party cruises. Carnival is definitely fun, but I wouldn't say I've ever seen any over the top rowdiness.

  3. Their website is screwed up.  I've been trying for weeks to buy stuff for our cruise.  I called and they made a ticket to fix it but it still doesn't work.  I'm going to have to call soon to do it cause we leave next week.  You should be able to call Fun Shops to buy your gift.

This info is giving me hope. But Monday for us is not a sea day. Is it for you? We have Cozumel Plus, then ports after Cozumel also the next two days after back-to-back.

No, our Monday is not a sea day, we'll be in Cabo until 7 pm that night. Sunday is a sea day.

I recall in past years that cruisers were told before their cruise that elegant night would be moved to another night but then it actually wasn't.  Anyone know if I am remembering this correctly?  This topic comes up every year.

  5. You seem to be correct about PV being the better place to do this at, however we have friends in PV so we will be spending the day with them there visiting their favourite places, and we have something planned for Cabo already so Mazatlan is the only option left for an AI if we decide to do that.  I will check out the suggestions you guys have given, thank you!

  6. We were on the Vista in cabin 9359 right under the walkway just inside the doors from Guy's burgers. We did hear some noise while we were awake. Mostly rumbling from rolling of carts. It was not too loud. We were never woken up while sleeping. We just booked Horizon for December and have another room booked on deck 9. This time it is closer to being under one of the deck bars.

This was exactly our experience as well being under the buffet. Rolling carts every once in a while, but only during the day time. It was not a big deal at all.

  7. My last cruise on the Vista (August 2018) I was mortified and disgusted by passenger behavior: scantily clad adults twerking, blaring music on Bluetooth speakers by pool and on balconies, adults screaming vulgarities and fighting, people taking selfies while twerking and sticking their breasts out, taking over pools and hot tubs with speakers blasting, closing of pool due to vomit, constant pot smoke wafting from balconies, people smoking and vaping on pool deck while security watched. Security was useless. Don’t get me started on the rampant morbid obesity of children and adults on full display in ill-fitting and inappropriate attire. This really turned me off from cruising Carnival, which is sad to me because this was my 23rd Carnival cruise.

If you've been on 23 Carnival Cruises surely you know that is not the norm. Unless all 23 cruises was like that, which in that case it must not bother you too much.

  8. Beachcomber - Bacardi Oakheart Spiced Rum, Midori, Bacardi MangoRum and tropical juices. It's only available at the Red Frog Rum Bar and the Red Frog Pub. They won't make it at other bars which is annoying.

Caribbean Colada - Velvety-rich blend of Bacardi 8, Bacardi Rum, banana, coconutand pineapple.

Malibu, Sprite and Lime - Refreshing!

Spiced Rum and Sprite (trust me, try it! SO GOOD)

I also like Kiss on the Lips and Miami Vice but they are soooooo sweet. I can't stand more than one, if that.

  9. We had the new cakes on the Breeze in August. We even had a carnival member come do a short survey on the cake offerings. All the ones we tried were very good. We do , however, still really like the cakes from the coffee shop. And my husband loves the melting chocolate cake, he has one every night. They make it just right for him once he explains the consistency he is looking for.

That's great to hear, thanks for the answer! I'm also picky with how I like my melting cake. I don't like it super runny. Sometimes they accommodate, sometimes not.

  10. Cakes have always "looked" good, it's the taste that left something to be desired. [emoji16]

It was ok, just went and got a piece of delicious cake at the coffee shop which is a pretty good deal.

I know, I'm talking about the new cakes on the Horizon and the Magic that everyone is raving about.

  11. When we did our cruise we were on the Glory one week jumped off and immediately jumped on the the Splendor for the next 8 days. When we asked on Glory if the washer/dryers used quarters on Splendor we were told yes so we purchased a roll from guest services because we wanted to do laundry the 1st day of our 2nd leg of our cruise on Splendor. Well we were surprised that Splendor used the S&S cards. We were also surprised that the laundry rooms were locked the first day on the Splendor.

Apparently the laundry rooms are closed while the ship is in port. Something to do with environmental issues.
