  1. How long does it take to get your people to people paperwork in hand? I'm thinking about booking the Cuba Cruise, Celestyal Crystal, for January 22, 2016. Also, has anyone done this cruise solo?

I was on the Jan. 1st cruise, not solo, but there were a few people traveling solo, would not be a problem at all for you.

  2. Thanks for the update. Did you buy extra travel insurance or just the insurance offered by the cruise line?

Just what was offered by the ship. ps, never was asked for proof of insurance or proof of the p2p charity donation ( payoff ). Saying that, I would STILL do it, don't take a chance.

  3. Just back from our 7 day Cba Cruise, rt Montego Bay, person to person.

Quick thoughts: Ship is nice & easy to get around, though some complained of having tiny inside cabins, very tight for 2. Food was just ok, meats were very tough. The buffet drink set up is crazy, you will see what I mean. Dining rooms, most of the tabels seat 10 & just felt very crowded. Drinks are watered down, staff was nice, some are cuban. DO NOT but rum or cigars at the stop in Santiago de Cuba, huge ripoff, wait till Havana. Our 2nd day in Havana, we blew off the afternoon people to people bus tour to go out on our own, no problems at all. Bargin with taxi drivers. But most important, enjoy Cuba, it is a step back in time.

  4. One US 110 with ground and one 220 at the desk/vanity. I brought my converter and plugs plus a US plug in that you could plug three things into but didn't need them.

Nancy, thanks for the response, with both of us using CPAPs it is always nice to plan ahead

  5. we visited Riga on our own after a Baltic cruise, spent 4 days there. It is tied with barcelona as my favorite city of all. Very easy to get around the city on your own, if you want to do a walking tour of the Art Deco buildings ( of which there are MANY ) you can download a self tour, (can't remember where I found it ). Would go back in a heartbeat

  6. We are booked on the Cuba Cruise by Celestal that sails rt from Kingston with an overnight in Havana(staying on the ship ). No real problems or hoops to jump, just prove of insurance & a cople of other things, nothing really, plus the travel agent helps you out with it.

Paying $1400.00 pp for the 7 day cruise & that includes airfare and shore excursions. I jumped on the price when it was first offered plus it was quoted in canadain dollars which save me even more.

I think it will be along time before you see Starbucks all over the island, the country does have the infrastructure to handle it, nor decent hotels that have constant power / food supplies ( my family has been there ).

What ever happens to Cuba, i hope it is better than how the Mob & US companies "used " the island.

  7.

Yes, it is the same company.

I think it was around $522 for both of us with the exchange rate. (~260.00/per person. When I looked at doing both tours it was around ~175-190 per person depending upon the tour operator).

thank you.We are cruising around Iceland next july, & will stay 3 / 4 days pre cruise to see more of the country
