And you need such large shoes that they wouldn't have your size if you wanted to hire them. Should have done the cruise and the land tour Circman.:D
Mic, I have my own, thank you very much ! This way, we will have 10 /14 days to enjoy the country without you.
Fellow CC'ers, Mic & I know each other, the 4 of had the great pleasure of meeting on a cruise to his homeland, LaLaland.

DragonoftheSeas, thanks for both, your answer to the water shoes and to the great pics you are sharing . We had planned on a cruise that stopped in Iceland, but have decided to do a land selftour instead, just so much to see.

I am diabetic and have no feeling at all in my feet, can I wear water shoes in the pools ?

What did you do in Montevideo, did you walk around or tour by cab ?

Barcelona ! I think the average American has no clue what Barcelona is like, but, it is in the top 5 spots for visitors in all of Europe.

We were in BA for a stop on our RCI Cruise on Splendour. Check out buenostours.com . We had a wonderful private tour with Jessica. She was friendly and personable. Doing this tour gave us a great idea of the layout of the city and saw some great highlights including the cemetery where Eva Peron is entombed. If you can get another couple to go on the tour with you it's even less expensive, but I enjoyed being able to go at our own pace and ask lots of questions.
I agree about the wine, take some onboard with you. it's inexpensive in town.
Were, may I ask, did you stay in BA ?

I have used a CPAP for 23 years & never heard of this one. I bought a small unit ( not as small as yours ) but fried the heating element right away. As it was, we always get a balcony, leave the door open a bit, fill my humidifier BUT don't heat it, just passive air. Without any water, I would end up with a bloody nose

Were there last year and did the wall, fort, monastery, etc.
Going back next month. Suggestions for what to do as we did the history tour thing last time? The ships tours a bit lacking if you've been there before.
Thank you in advance, Randy
It will be our 2nd time as well, so I booked the sega way tour with Ceasar. He gets very good reviews.

In a word: no.
I would like to expand on his 1 word reply, Hell no.
In truth there will always be some idiot who can be a jerk for any reason, but, we have never encountered that on a cruise.
For dinner we always ask for a table of 6 or 8 and each cruise we have had wonderful seat mates.
Just go, be yourselfs & have fun

Are you on a transit or is your ship just making a full day port call? If you are making Colon a port of call, usually there is a tour available that will take you to Gatun Locks where there is an observation platform and someone to provide a narration of the operation. This tour will usually include a visit to observation center that overlooks the construction of the new Canal expansion locks. At the observation center for the new locks there is some audio/video presentations as well as place to purchase refreshments and such.
There could possibly be shore excursions that would include a visit to the Miraflores Locks on the Pacific side as well.
We are doing a transit, coming from the Pacific side, with a port call in Colon from 7-5.

We are doing this cruise as well as the one starting in BA on 3/1, anyone else booked ?

How about a tour out of Colon ? I want to see the canal workings, but ut seems like some of the reviews haven't been that good. Any thoughts ?

Isn;t anyone worried that the cruise company might go " belly up " and you are out your money ?

Temple Wear
in Asia
For the vatican, we carried in my bag nylon jogging pants. Light weight & slips on over your shorts.

How are people dressed for seeing the shows ? Casual or coat & tie ?

There is an elevator. The apartment is not luxurious, but clean and functional. It gives you a sense of how Argentine's live. Rachel is wonderful and very helpful in many ways.
Thanks for the info, just what we are looking for

I enjoyed your review and have saved it for more info searching for our upcoming cruise.
Casa Jasmin sounds great. Is there a elevator in the building ?
