I'm sitting here - and I'm kinda amused that people are questioning the integrity of a cruise ship magician. I don't know from magic shows, but from what I hear they do try to interject 'comedy' into their routines. I'm also failing to see how his comment was in any way insulting to children with autism. It doesn't sound like it was funny, but life-altering for a 7 year old? Ummm, no. I'll be on the Gem next week - perhaps I'll have good ol' Chip take my kids down a peg. They're starting to get a bit too big for their britches anyway.

I don't think Chip meant to hurt you or your family.. As tasteless as the joke was... If you contact him by e-mail or what ever one of the hardest words to say "sorry" would be in order... We not only tip before during and after the cruise, I also bake home made chocolate chip cookies and hand them out as we embark on the ship. I sprinkle cookie crumbs to our cabin door so we never forget where we are. The crew like my chocolate chip cookies....gets me to the front of any line. :D

Mr Robberts, Maybe if you tip Janpo before you embark he will share he's cookies with you and you won't have to spend all that $$$$.... Plus maybe he will let you stand at the front of the line with him( MAKE IT A REAL BIG TIP) I don't think you could sit in front of me.... I have a forward facing suit... You can't win them ALL...:p

Of course it does. Whatever the amount, however miniscule someone might choose to think, it contributes trash and traces of explosive chemicals.

 

It is also contributing noise pollution. I'm sure any dolphins and whales in the vicinity enjoy it as much as humans...

Well, Back in the 80's nobody really CARED!!!!! But after a few cruise with the US NAVY times have changed....(33 years) Retired a few months ago.. Not only 12 miles from shore but in INTER waters.. The shells that the Navy shoots it MUST BE RECORD AND THE AMOUNT THAT GO IN TO THE WATER RECORDED..... So I know that even alittle is to much and my best guess would be less then 5%.. NCL has 1 of the best records for POL CONTROL......Not like other cruise lines!!!!! (Sometimes alittle to much):o

I've done 4 cruises with my DD's (Me and 2 DD'S) More then enough room .... And I think you will like it..... (Any cruise is nice) Mini suites are nice.... I always get a mini on deck 11 aft... And never had a problem.... Enjoy.....:)

I think it would be OK.... But I called my PCC and he was clueless... If you hear of anybody doing this let me know!!!!!!!!! :confused:

This is the first time I pre-paid the service charge but wanted as much paid off before the cruise so bill at end is as small as possible

 

I have never once removed a tip during a cruise. If I have had an issue with a crew member I have gone to guest services and they have dealt with it to my satisfaction.

 

I have always given extra to crew that have directly dealt with me...steward, wait staff

 

I don't tip my steward extra the first day for better service and have always received excellent service

Best way to go!!!!!! They work HARD for 12$$$$$ a day... If I feel they did the extra mile...... ALL THE CRUISES I BEEN ON THEY HAVE:)...... More $$$$$$$ coming there way... 13 Cruises and never had a bad time.. ROOM SERvice(sorry wine spell on key board) It's about the cruise.. JUST ENJOY!!!! We are soooooooo lucky!!
