  1. Hubby & I did it once - He loved it - I hated it and would never do it again. Funny thing is - I'm the one who wanted to do it and couldn't wait. He was scared to do it and now can't wait to do it again.

April we are taking our son on Gem. He & hubby will be going together when we port in Fl. Thought they might have better/more views for them to see once up and it is a double. Me - I will stay on ground and take pics of them :D

Just in case you want to check out the one they will be doing it's "Cocoa Beach Parasail"

    Enjoy & have Fun!!

P.S. Glad I did do it - just to say "I did" ;)

  2. Anyone know if I would be entitled to the promotions that NCL is offering now?

I had booked cruise on Gem for April 24, 2015 B1 catagory towards the end of July and took advantage of the "kids sail free" promotion they were running then through NCL directly. Now I see they are running another promotion, (10% OBC) can I get that one also? Have only given deposit so far.

When I called NCL they told me that only my Rep could help me. I have called my NCL Rep and left messages but he has not returned my call yet

  3. From the UK Site:

11150 = Total Sq. Ft. 285, total Cabin sq. ft 231, total balcony sq. ft. 54

11656 = Total Sq. Ft. 272, total Cabin sq. ft.218, total balcony sq. ft. 54

11150 has more cabin sq. ft then 11656.

    Harriet

Harriet - how did you find the SF for individual rooms? I am interested in 10668 on Gem and can't find it anywhere :(

I'd go with 11150 - bigger is always better ;) Plus I like the bed by the balcony

  4. Did they happen to mention if they were going to do any refurbishing before dry dock? I remember someone posting here about a month or more ago saying they were replacing carpet in certain areas and had replaced couches in Spinnaker while they were on ship at port. Just wondering

  5.

I am not sure what you are asking about me being a TA? Who should I call at NCL to ask "is it worth it"? LOL It is a subjective question, one that I prefer to ask actual travelers about, not ask NCL the financially interested party.

    )

was referring to your "other" post about the muster:

"You also posted a question about skipping the muster here when actually you should have called NCL directly, especially since it is a medical question. Just my opinion"

  6. Conandrob - Just curious as to what kind of a travel agent you are? Usually people are calling you for advise not the other way around.

You also posted a question about skipping the muster here when actually you should have called NCL directly, especially since it is a medical question. Just my opinion.

Hmmmm thought advertising a TA was against CC rules - just wondering

  7. I have gone to the original Carlos in Hoboken and there is one down the street from me -never are their cakes worth the $$. You are only paying for the name. I can't imagine on board they would be much different, if anything worse.

But if you feel like you have to get something from "Carlos", (which I understand), get a Cupcake and save your $$.

  8. Comfort Suites was cheaper. Check out Bookit.com they had the best rate for my time, (mid Nov. may be different). Be sure to ask them what the Hotel itself charges which you pay extra directly to the hotel. For 3 adults we were charged an additional $62.00 I believe kids are free.

  9. I thought someone had posted pics of new white furniture in the Spinnaker--was all done while in port one day? (maybe a month ago)?

I dont think they are putting cabins in that spot; I love the Spinnaker.

I saw the same thing that's why I commented about it

  10. Wait - do most people actually go to the specialty restaurants? How do you know this?

Looking at total dining seating capacity on the Jewel, the free (included) dining options offer 1,597 seats. The specialty restaurants offer 684 seats.

With that ratio, I wonder if it is even possible for most people to dine in specialty restaurants.

OK - Let me rephrase that for you - "most people here on Cruise Critic", at least all the threads I have read here pertaining to the restaurants I have noticed that the majority have gone or will go to a Specialty Restaurant
