I agree, but on the app, you can look ahead for the rest of the cruise.

Yeah , I know and I love it when we are out and about the ship.  But, when we are in for the night I love sitting in the bed and highlighting anything that interests me and then I can narrow it down to what I really want to do.  I like seeing everything at once so you can tell if you can go from one thing to another.

You are supposed to be able to get one the evening before. Not sure what time, yet.

Thanks!  That's a start.  We don't sail until next October, so some things might change by then, but at least it gives me a starting point!   It would be nice to be something you could ask your steward to leave when they do your turn down.

Fun times.  Must pick up at guest services.  Kept behind the desk

Do you know if you can pick one up in the evening for the next day or do you have to wait until the day of?  I love having the Fun Times on the app, but am really bummed about not having a full copy,  It is one of the things I keep from each cruise.  Plus, I love selecting everything I am thinking about then drilling down.

Also, have to say not happy about having to use my phone for everything that was previously on paper.  And, my Dad has cruised with us and only has a flip phone.  I hope this is only temporary or an option.  I like not having my phone out during dinner.

According to a conversation I had with my TA yesterday, ALL passengers will be required to be vaccinated regardless of line.  She also said the same for passports - must have in order to board.  No problem for us - we are ready!

Why would they start requiring passports?  That has nothing to do with the virus and they would lose a lot of their customers.  That totally sounds made up.  Not you, the TA.

Just print out the original Cabin Confirmation email you received when you booked. Take the copy with you just in case.

I've done that.  In fact, I saved the email as a pdf and I even took a screenshot of the Congrats popup.  LOL  I want to be armed with anything I might need to show them.  Just wish they would put that popup info in the documents.

For my cruise, the promo appears as a pop up at the top of my screen when I log in to my cruise.  When I print my documents with the booking summary, the promo does not appear on any of them.  However, the promo does appear on the email from Carnival that I received as a guest confirmation.  It is right under the OBC. Cheers is included in your offer

Same here.  I just don't get why it wouldn't show on your docs or online other than a pop-up.

  7. Am I the only one who booked using the Cheers to You promo that cannot find it listed anywhere in the cruise documents?  I got the email showing my new rate and noting that we had purchased Cheers.  Also, each time I log in, I get the popup that says Congratulations!  Cheers and Bottomless Bubbles are included in your booking.  But, I have been unable to find that anywhere in my documents.  I have even tried printing and I can see my OBC when I do that, but there is still nothing in the documents.

Does anyone know if it shows when they have booked with that promo?  If it does, where are you seeing it.

Thanks!  Little things like this drive me crazy.

The problem is at what point are vaccinated passengers concerned when their cruise is paused/changed/derailed/cancelled because of an outbreak or # of unvaccinated passengers testing positive during a cruise? At what point is a vaccinated passenger concerned with being quarantine/isolation because contact tracing on the ship indicated they were in contact with other positive passengers and may be taken off the ship at the next port with the group of people who also were in contact along with the positive tested passengers?

And beyond the “distruption” of the cruise argument, there is the protocols you mentioned. I’m great with wearing a mask, social distancing, no self service buffet (just me personally of course). I have a big issue with restriction of being able to self explore ports because I’m sailing with unvaccinated passengers.
At what point are vaccinated passengers concerned with the restrictive protocols being placed on them as the cost of sailing with unvaccinated passengers?

Very good points and I agree with just about all.  I, too, have thought about an infected passenger turning my week's vacation into a 14 day plus nightmare.  I just wonder if in the end, Carnival is going to have to cave and go with the others with 95% vaccinated.  All of this craziness is one of the main reasons that we rebooked for late next year.  By then, the hope is that things will be more normal.  I can deal with most restrictions, but I really have no desire to have to wear a mask on a cruise.  That would be a hard one for me.

Exactly.  Some vaccinated people are fine with being treated better when it fits their agenda, but never consider how discrimination might go against them if they were treated differently.  I can see letting vaccinated people sit in an area where they can remove their masks and not socially distance.  But charging more for the unvaccinated is discrimination.  There should always be accommodations for those who have health issues, which apparently many consider being unvaccinated a health issue even though many have had covid and have immunities.

Those who are vaccinated shouldn't be required to wear face masks on a cruise if they don't have to on land.  If those who are unvaccinated don't wear a mask, it is of no concern to those who are vaccinated.  My problem is making everyone wear a mask when it isn't required for a vaccinated person.  That is the other extreme.  Just don't require masks, period.  Those who aren't vaccinated will be the ones taking the risk and if that is a risk they wish to take, then let them.

We just booked under the cheers 2 u. Had an 8 day for next year and it was eligible so we rebooked for $80 more total for both of us. First time for us have the drinks package

Same for us.   Ours was $350 for the two of us for an 8 day cruise. First time with Cheers.

Do you have to have the RU2 in your offers? I only have RU9 but that won't work for us and actually makes the cruise more expensive than just paying for cheers separately.

I think you can call your PVP and ask for that rate.  I've read where it worked for others.  Worth a try!

  12. When our October 2020 cruise was cancelled, we rebooked for October 2022 (already had our 2021 vacation planned).  I have been waiting for a Cheers to You promo that would be good for that cruise, most of them were only good through the summer of 2022.  Finally got it yesterday.  Called our PVP and by using that promo (RU2) we are only having to pay $450 more total.  We already had a credit (not OBC) of $100 so we applied that and for our 8 day cruise Cheers will only cost us $350 over our cruise fare.  This breaks down to $21.88 per person per day.  A savings of $30 per day per person.  I was leary that it would be worth it for us because we aren't huge drinkers, but with that cost (basically 2 drinks) we couldn't say no.

Just had to share because only folks here would understand!  So, if you are already booked and get the offer, it's worth checking.

It is really not as a great a bargain as it sounds. The base price of the cruise is adjusted for the "free" drink package. It is a savings over booking the cruise and buying drink package separately, but Cheers is definitely not free; you are getting the drink package at a discount. (It's similar to many  "free OBC" promos;  you can often find cheaper rates where the savings is about the cost of the "free" OBC.)

I've received several offers, but none of them are for cruises as far out as ours is (Oct. 2022).  I keep waiting.  We've talked about how much extra we would be willing to pay for that.  I figure there would be some discount.  Hopefully, they will send an offer soon for cruises in late 2022.

I generally feel like the spa folks are pushy and even pushier at the end of your service to buy the products they used on (like after getting a facial) so I just tell them at the beginning I will not be purchasing any products so don't even try.

I've done the same and the have respected that.  I have also gone back and made a purchase.

They are everywhere, but I never had a problem.  I just keep walking and say no thank you.  Works on the gang plank and everywhere else.

Has anyone ever had a balcony on the Magic on the Lido deck?  Was it noisy or otherwise undesirable?

We have and loved it.  We were only about 5-6 doors from the slider doors to the Lido.  I could barely hear anything from our balcony.  We love being that close to everything.

I'm contemplating booking a cruise for October 2022. Has anyone else book cruises that far out yet? I'm hoping the world will be back to normal by then.

We are booked on the Horizon for October 2022.  I was happy to find there were cruises to choose from.  We felt like it was a good bet to book that far out.  My hubby doesn't want to cruise if he has to wear a mask all the time on the ship.

I still don't understand why so many people kept rebooking almost month after month.

  18. Thanks guys!  We have always liked Hampton Inns.  I will take a look at the Brickell one.  I'll also take a look at the others.  Appreciate the recommendations.  I know things can change in two years, but I like to have a plan and back ups ready!

I wondered if the seafood would be too expensive.  I'll take a look at some of the place you listed BlueHerons, thanks!

When our Panorama Cruise was cancelled, our email offer on May 3, 2020 stated that we must book by 12/31/2020 and sail by 12/31/2022.

We are already booked for 2021 and would like to plan for 2022, but there are almost no sailings posted.

What are your educated guesses as to when we will see 2022 itineraries.  Has there been later offers that would allow booking after 12/2020?

Before I call Carnival, I thought I would ask here.

    Thanks for any information.

    Lyn

Depends on the ship.  Our was cancelled for this October and I saw that the Horizon is up for all of 2022.  We booked it for Halloween 2022.  That is the furthest out I have ever been able to book.

Johnny Rockets is free for breakfast on bigger ships. Really good hash browns. Costs for lunch on all ships.

Rcl cheaper for me right now. I think once these $600 obc get used up prices might come down. I saw msc cancelled a cruise .. stating lack of bookings for one reason. I booked 1 ccl  5 rcl, just because rcl was cheaper right now. Should have booked further out on ccl before prices went up so much. And I get double loyalty pts on rcl as a solo. Price wise rcl wins right now out of Galveston. Rcl perks also include free drinks at night if I want them. 3 loaded to my card I can order with dinner.

Price used to be cheaper on carnival. I think it will be again. Expecting price to drop on ccl booked cruise.

I dont remember a shrimp salad mentioned above. Sounds good. Dont eat beef Wellington so np on that one. Though having fried chicken every night to me was going too far. I often eat all meals in buffet where I can read a book and dont feel rushed to eat so someone else can have my table.

I have more days on ccl than rcl, due to price used to be cheaper. I try and vary the 2 lines so I dont get bored with one.

Interesting about the pricing on RCL as I before I posted I went in and checked pricing for a balcony (not on Lido as I like) for October cruise in 2021 and it was still over $1K more than the one we have booked on CCL for October 2022.  And, we are in a balcony on the Lido deck.  I've looked several times, but it just seems that they don't have as many in the homeports we like and they're always more expensive.
