  1. WOW !! am I glad I read this post with so many contributions with unexplained noises, creaking in lots of the locations. The videos looked so promising but the actual feedback from lots of CC cruisers speak for themselves. This week I booked the Beyond for March 2024, a mid ship deck six Edge Veranda. NOW.... I'm having second thoughts and will conceivably cancel thanks to what I'm reading. The great itinerary (especially going to Barbados on a large ship was our selling point and returning to Celebrity from a change from being Loyal to Royal) We got off the Voyager OTS from San Juan doing close to the same itinerary three weeks ago and wanted to plan something similar from Ft. Lauderdale in March or April 2024. On a side note, our sliding balcony door cabin 6584 made a click click sound when the ship was moving, it was loud enough to keep you awake and wake you up. We had an excellent cabin attendant that did everything he could for four days trying to resolve the problem, eventually maintenance came up took the door off and replaced parts UNDER the threshold, then the nose stopped. I'm not looking forward to having what I've been reading about the Beyond, does this appear to be an issue with ALL of this class of ships? If this is the case then I'll have to look at a different class newer Celebrity ship that may hopefully have that itinerary. As someone from the northeast the airfare to San Juan was very steep so leaving from Ft. Lauderdale at that time of the year is our preference. Thanks in advance to those who reply.
  2. As well as any of the Headliner shows, I've read mixed reviews on both for past posts. On a seven night cruise how many nights are these different events taking place? Looking forward to your comments, thanks in advance to those who reply.
  3. Which Royal ship were you on? We were on the Voyager 3/19-3/26, as of March 26th the one cabin cleaning a day option was going into effect. Our cabin attendant told us that by the end of April all of the fleet were to be completed. Thanks for your reply the same with others who have replied as well.
  4. Did the Celebrity fleet follow the same "choose your morning or evening cabin attendant cleaning" option for those in the lower tier cabins? Sister Line Royal will have all their ships completed by the end of April. Thanks in advance to those who reply.
  5. Yes, come to think of it. I was going to message you but saw you aren't set up for it. We've been "Loyal to.." up to our D+ status a few years ago by doing 2-3 cruises a year but wanted to try something else. We're booked on the next and first LNG ship from them in 2024 but still wanted to try a newer Celebrity ship. you mentioned 4 MDR's. Are people assigned to one of them throughout the cruise or do people rotate like Royal did a few years ago. To us we didn't care for that at all. Do you ever see men and women wearing shorts with a clean tee or short sleeve shirt at Dinner or are long pants what they insist on? We have an E-2 on deck six midship, Has Celebrity gone to the one cabin cleaning per day like RC has? What else can you tell me about Eden from the shows and views. Like RC there's always lifeguards at every pool, is it the same with X? Do the lounge chairs at the pools all have cushions for added comfort or are they strap web? How would you rate the Entertainment and Shows, anything noteworthy to add? Does X use the same Cruise Terminal as Royal at Ft. Lauderdale. How's the Embarkation process there. Was the Magic Carpet used on your cruise, what's the purpose of it, reading about it is rather vague. If you or others can provide any pros and cons about the Beyond please do, we'd like to know more about it as time goes on. Thanks !
  6. Can you tell us just what it was about the Beyond that you really liked as much? I'm trying to gather as much information as I can to convince the other half to take a "ride' on the Beyond. Thanks in advance !
  7. Same glasses but not filled close to the rim as you'd normally expect to get regardless to whether you're paying for it, a drink package or a C&A benefit. I will say that for the most part if we got a weak drink the server did add a little more if he was told the drink was too weak. Waiters and Bartenders have been told to do that even if questioned. It's just one way for the Company to save a little more money. One bartender said the reason is, it's so people wont spill their drinks on themselves or on the floor. Yah right, and I've got a bridge to sell yah too.
  8. Hello "Lady" good evening to you, thank you. Yes, everything from the two day early flight to San Juan to all the islands and everyday beaches we went to, the flight home was all an excellent adventure. We'll be off again in early May on the Adventure.
  9. Disembarkation day, well that's another story. Everyone was supposed to be out of their cabins by 8:30 and go to assigned locations. As it was as soon as you were in an open area a crew member told us, if you're ready you can leave the ship. That caused a backup at the Customs checkpoint right after you got your luggage. ALTHOUGH if you're Pinnacle there's a separate line that bypasses others going through Customs. Sort of like a priority line. One of our party members was Pinnacle and we're all D+ so that worked out perfect to disembark. I guess you can do a Walk Off" by 7:30-8:00 with no problem.
  10. Sailed on 3/19-3/26. Cabin Attendant told us that the new choose a morning or evening cabin cleaning would begin for all cabins below the suites for that ship on 3/26. Told us that they've been told by their supervisors, absolutely no exceptions to the new rule which is making them nervous where some attendants will have up to 24 cabins to do. Basically, even a generous tip to clean your cabin twice would get them in trouble Other things from menu selections to reduced food portions as well as less quantity in drink glasses are all a reality and have been covered extensively from previous posters, otherwise the staffing was pretty close to normal, the ship was in good condition considering the maiden voyage back on November 18, 1999. Any questions feel free to ask.
  11. Just looking to see if they've already implemented the new cabin cleaning choices as of the first week of March 2023? I've noted that the Wonder along with some of the Quantum class ships have already started. If they haven't begun yet, maybe your cabin attendant might have the answer. Thanks in advance.
  12. Neighbors just returned yesterday from the Enchantment out of Baltimore. No changes on that ship and were told nothing definitive on a start date. Has anyone currently or just off their cruise already have that started yet? If so which ship? We're on the Voyager in March and Adventure in May.
  13. When is your cruise? I was in on a RCI broadcast this afternoon with the DSM fronting it, i asked her the question of "when will this take effect in the whole fleet" and was told nothing definitive has come down from Miami on when it will take place. It's probably going to happen but they either don't know for sure or are keeping the lid on it until they're told to talk about it openly.
  14. Thank you island lady. Well, that certainly is a bit more realistic, but in any event, lots of work for lousy pay they get.
  15. I can understand your pain as well as your drummer/husband's. Granted, the attendances are mostly small for the sets but where can you go to for a nice intimate setting to listen to music that we look forward to ? Jazz on 4 has always been in a quiet setting.
  16. If the cabin attendants are going from 17 or 18 rooms to clean to 35 rooms I can understand why they'll be overwhelmed with work. Id hate to be the first cabin and the last cabin they clean daily. So, can you imagine for Day 1 what his job is going to entail trying to get ALL their rooms ready to be inspected before the pax's arrive.Geesch !
  17. OH boy!!!! that's good information to know Island lady seeing that we'll be doing that 7 nighter from San Juan the middle of March. lots of posts to read up on here . Thanks for your reply.
  18. As a jazz drummer ( as you can see in my larger photo) I feel your pain. Jazz is jazz, Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder fall under Pop music. When I'd go to Jazz on 4 I would have expected to hear just jazz music. We like the Promenades on the bigger RCI ships, something that none of the Celebrity ships have. If they did we'd be sailing on them.
  19. Perhaps I missed something, has this taken effect on all the RCI fleet? Or specifically the Voyager and Adventure that's coming up.
  20. 1025cruise, I should add, we'll be on the Voyager OTS next month and trying to get ideas on the best beaches from the best of the best informed fellow cruisers.
  21. Are there umbrellas, lounge chairs and bathrooms at that beach as well?
  22. In mid March we're stopping in St. Croix, St. Kitts, St. Thomas. A small group of us are looking for beaches that are would be the best, and closest to the Cruise Ports for swimming, (not rocky, we're not going to snorkel) and rents lounges and umbrellas. We've been to Magen's Bay many times so that's off our list. Anyone out there with your suggestions are much appreciated, thanks in advance.
  23. Fiona, are you saying I can secure my boarding time TODAY if i use the mobile app without putting in any Check in info?
  24. Thanks everyone for your replies. So can I assume that 45 day window to do the on line check in will also be when I choose my arrival time as well? Things used to be so much simpler .....
