  1. LOTS started self-serve starting this last week on the cruise beginning April 3rd. We were at 70% and it was great to have the ability to serve ourselves - much faster.

We did appear to have 1 quarantined cabin on the 10th floor across the hall from us. We were returning to our cabin on the 5th night and saw two staff entering with hazmat suits on and cleaning supplies. I believe the family had been moved (they were in a grand suite) to the quarantine cabins wherever they are.

  3. Enhanced Drivers Licenses: What Are They?

State-issued enhanced drivers licenses (EDLs) provide proof of  identity and U.S. citizenship, are issued in a secure process, and include technology that makes travel easier. They provide travelers with a low-cost, convenient alternative for entering the United States from Canada, Mexico or the Caribbean through a land or sea port of entry, in addition to serving as a permit to drive.

The Department has been working with states to enhance their drivers licenses and identification documents to comply with travel rules under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI), effective June 1, 2009.

Enhanced drivers licenses make it easier for U.S. citizens to cross the border into the United States because they include

a vicinity Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chip that will signal a secure system to pull up your biographic and biometric data for the CBP officer as you approach the border inspection booth, and

a Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) or barcode that the CBP officer can read electronically if RFID isn't available.

The top 39 land ports of entry, which process more than 95 percent of land border crossings, are equipped with RFID technology that helps facilitate travel by individual presenting EDLs or one of the other RFID-enabled documents.

  4. 1981 my parents went out of town on a Friday night and I raced down to Target to buy a Kraco cassette player for $19.99 and put it in the glove box of my 1969 Beetle. First song I played was Another One Bites the Dust. Only had 1 speaker by the gages. I thought I was something.

Posting here, but also have now emailed TA a third time asking they look into this - the specific TA that I used is no longer with the larger company that I can tell, so I am dealing with the general customer service  for the OTA.  I generally don't go through them to book but my first cruise was a group cruise I was joining a friend on and that is who was managing the group.  I went through the cancellation / rebook for all of the cruises with this OTA as it was just easier that way.

Like most, I have had several cruises cancelled since March of 2020.  I have had FCCs reissued so many times that I have lost count and on top I didn't always get an email with the certificate number and amount.  Should I have been more dilligient of course but here we are.

Has anyone had any luck calling RCCL or emailing / dm on social and ask if they can look up your FCC and give you your certificate numbers / amounts / expiry dates?  Even if these were issued under bookings you made with a TA?  Or is there another avenue to find this out?  I wish  they would just list them under your CA# online 🙂   Wishful thinking right

    Thanks in advance

Are you good with algebra and imaginary numbers? That knowledge will help figure this out.   🙂
