  1. Well, I will buy one, if they can't use it on the ship, they can use it on land.
  2. Nothing wrong with going cheap. We have done that for years. By booking an inside cabin and only getting the promo (drinks and dining package) we are able to cruise a month out of a year. If we went hog wild and booked everything and Haven then we might go one week a year. No thanks, I prefer my month or more a year of cruising.
  3. I know there is a Starbucks on the Epic. I am buying door prizes for our M & G and was considering buying a Starbucks gift card for a prize. Would anyone who has been on the Epic know for sure if you can use the gift cards at Starbucks on the ship. I have read that some ships don't allow it.
  4. You were probably on the ship when I sailed it. NCL Dream was my first cruise ever and we sailed out of New Orleans in early 2005. Loved every second of it. Now 56 cruises later I am still loving cruising!
  5. Well that explains it. Last time on NCL was Feb. 2020 at the start of the pandemic. I knew I had never had this problem. I will do guest services since we aren't getting off the ship other than GSC. I was wondering about the muster drill thingy and you are quite right. Tried calling, they have no clue
  6. I have been on b2b2b's on NCL several times but I don't remember how I did the check in for the last cruise, I could have sworn you could check in before 21 days (last time on NCL 2020). We will be on the ship and I do not want to waste my free minutes trying to check into our last cruise and I have never used my phone for doing such things so it would take me forever. I usually just stick my phone in the safe. How do I check in for the last cruise since when we board check in is not available. Can I go to guest services and do it there?
  7. It was our first experience and have sailed her 3 times and have her booked for 6 more cruises. We love the Epic.
  8. Well, hoping they are going to Amber Cove since there are excursions that have already been booked through NCL
  9. Not gonna happen here. I pay 20% on the drink package. I am not going to tip another dollar or more per drink. I get waited on just fine. I understand you don't have the drink package so that is different to me but with the drink package 20% is enough for me.
  10. Oh I would love with veal, just not the shank😞
  11. I would absolutely get the Osso Bucco if it was lamb but now the menu says it is a veal shank and that is not a very tasty piece of meat to me.
  12. Oh no! Guess I just changed my mind. I do love a good Porterhouse or Fillet Mignon but we have them at home all the time and I don't want to risk getting a bad one. I might try the ribeye since I haven't had one of those in years. Just don't want a tough, chewy steak!
  13. MSC still has twice daily service and their Daily Service Charge is $16.00 pp per day unless you are in the Yacht Club then it is more.
  14. Thank you! That is the menu I have seen lately. I really want the Veal Chop but that is never coming back I would say.
  15. Maybe just that cruise because I have seen it a lot lately and no surcharge that I can see.
  16. I just watched a couple of very recent videos and there is no surcharge on the menu for the Porterhouse steak at Cagney's. Can anyone confirm this? NCL's website still shows a surcharge.
  17. And they also dock at Amber Cove. The Epic is at Amber Cove on January 19, 2024.
  18. I have not sailed NCL since right at the Pandemic. We have sailed MSC 6 times since the Pandemic. I really have no idea what to expect on NCL for service after reading the boards. I don't need my cabin cleaned twice a day but I do expect clean towels everyday. Yes, I do use new wash clothes and towels daily at home. We are rarely in our cabin, up and out by 6 am and then back at around 2:30 - 5 for a nap and to get ready for dinner. We are then out of the cabin until around 11pm. I sure hope that my cabin steward will "find time" to clean our cabin daily during that time. If not then I guess I will have to go and find my own towels. I am like @Asawi and do my tipping after receiving good service. I do not tip hoping to get service that I am already tipping for. I swear the more cruise lines raise the daily service charge the more some of the people on these boards say they don't care and the cabin steward works hard. I am not asking for anything special, just do the job. I do not believe it to be unreasonable if I were to ask the cabin steward to clean the cabin or at least leave towels when we are not in the cabin considering how little we are there. I am not saying that one should "demand" it be cleaned next but I see nothing wrong with telling the steward the few hours that we are in the cabin and asking for it to be done at a different time. I am sure I will get a lot of flack for stating this but I just can't believe how often people say the cabin steward works hard, it is okay if they don't get to the cabin or they are so busy. That just blows my mind. Do you honestly say that about everyone in the service departments? I can't imagine going to a restaurant and tipping a lousy waiter and saying "oh well". Is it so customary now to tip no matter what? Just asking.
