Unless you are in the photo gallery (where no one sits), the key is to get there early. Continually amazed by those who show up seconds before the scheduled drill (or late) and then cry and moan about nowhere to sit. We arrive around 15 minutes early and never have had a problem in 65+ muster drills.

Which muster station is the photo gallery?

You can always ask your room attendant to exchange it for a bottle of red or white, they usually do with no problem. Another idea is to bring it to the beach with you on Island day. My husband went to the ice machine and filled a baggie of ice, wrapped it in a towel and put it in his backpack. We enjoyed some cold champagne on the sunny beach in Greece last time. Just don't forget to bring some cups with you. Enjoy.

I didn’t know you were allowed to bring alcohol off the ship.

The move up program is great for many.  A win win- The cruise line fills empty rooms and gets additional revenue and the customer gets an opportunity to get a higher category of room for a wholesale price!  Only downside is if you do not like the location of the cabin/suite- you are locked in.

We lucked out with location too. Our OV was under a public bathroom, our CC is midship and under cabins.

    No,  as explained above.....

You can exchange  it for  a diff bottle of whatever  other  limited choices  they offer as  Concierge Welcome Aboard.....White, red, non alcoholic.

Your  alc package is a sep issue from the Welcome Aboard  sparking wine..but you might be able to get a credit..

I’d prefer a credit, or using it for mimosas, to a bottle of wine we didn’t like.

With the drinks package, we always spend the $12. to upgrade to premium if we don't already have it.

With Premium, we usually get glasses of Chandon from Napa, which is drinkable.  You can also get "better" sparkling wines by the glass for a small upcharge ( Veuve Cliquot is $3.00 plus tip for example).

    Hope that helps.

    Andrew

We got all the perks, so we have the premium package. Does that mean they will give us a better bottle to begin with or does everyone in CC get the same bottle regardless of beverage packages?

It isn't very good.  Some people mix it with orange juice for morning mimosas, which might be a very nice way to start your anniversary.

You can try to exchange it for something you would like more -- ask the sommelier at dinner. Sometimes they do a one-for-one exchange, sometimes they give you a credit toward something better.

Yes, mimosas might be nice on our balcony for breakfast on our Anniversary, or a credit for something better would be lovely for our Anniversary dinner. Would we still get a 20% discount on the difference?

So it seems this is pretty much a non issue..

You can turn it in for an exchange  for your cabin , and enjoy whatever else comes with your package!

So we could exchange it for a bottle of any wine that comes by the glass in our package?

  8. We booked an ocean view on our upcoming cruise because at the time there was a huge price difference. We put in MoveUp bids for 3 levels and our Concierge Class bid was accepted. We ended up getting it for less than and Veranda would have been when we booked. I call that a win!

  9. I’m sure it’s a cheaper bottle, but what is it?  Is it any good?  If I want to exchange it for a bottle of wine, how do I go about it?  We are dry red wine drinkers, but if it’s any good I suppose we could drink it on our Anniversary. We have a drink package, is it any better than what we could get by the glass in our package?  If it makes any difference, we will be on the Summit to Bermuda.

They didn't do anything in the butler's pantry besides slap grey paint on everything and replace the refrigerator.  The existing countertops went well with the previous decor.

Looks like it!  The bathroom looks much better. Of course I’d be more than happy to stay there!

Not sure if this will apply to Summit but we were on deck 11 on Silhouette last year with public restrooms directly above and didn’t notice them at all.

Thank you!  I didn’t know if it would be an issue or not.

If you want to go to a remote beach without amenities, please don't break local laws by bringing unsealed food off the ship simply to make things more convenient for yourself. These laws are in place to protect local agriculture and all countries have them.

I don’t want to break any laws, perhaps you should reread my OP. I asked what I would be permitted to bring off the ship, not what I could sneak off.

In the picture of the pantry, the door to the left of the counter is the door directly to the hall.

I'm not an interior designer, but does a tan counter top go with grey cabinets?🙄

It doesn't look very good in the pictures.

I recently had a situation where after the MoveUp bids came out the price of AQ went lower than what the min bid was so I could just upgrade my C3 cabin to AQ and pick my cabin and still come out lower than the min bid.  That's probably a rare occurrence as there were lots of empty cabins and they had a fire sale to move them.

Mat what point did they do this?  What are you calling a whole lot?

We bid just above the minimum bid. Our bid was excepted just yesterday. Went from an Inside to a Concierge Class. Totally worth it! We leave on Friday, on the Millie.

That’s awesome!  So how is it?

OP, I missed that this would be your first Celebrity cruise.  On the M Class ships (of which Summit is one) the Concierge Class cabins are slightly larger than regular balcony cabins.  (This is not the case on Solstice Class ships.)  That’s about the only positive I can think of for booking Concierge Class.  The priority embarkation you mentioned doesn’t really get you onboard any quicker and I’m not sure the pillow menu still exists.

I really wouldn’t bother to bid for any upgrade other than a regular balcony.

I ended up bidding on both. There is only one Veranda left for our sailing, but several CC.

As I mentioned before we had an amazingly “bad” experience in the MDR on an RCCL a couple years ago. I say it that way because I do not want to diss anyone working as hard as these young men were. The ship had been in dry dock for a refurb ( is this sounding familiar, Equinox folk?), and a hurricane came to the Bahamas, so the ship left dry dock early. We were on the 2nd or 3rd cruise, supposedly after dry dock, but it was actually more like a month after the storm. A lot of the crew was new, and were still trying to get trained - all the service in the MDR was chaotic, waiters didn’t know the menu, food runners couldn’t decipher waiters notes, etc. First world problems and an excuse to order another bottle of bubbly - except the poor, run off his feet “wine steward” didn’t know how to open it or how it tasted because he was from Indonesia and had never even tasted wine. First world probs! They all got big tips, because they were doing their best without a lot of help.

LOVE your positive attitude!  We need more people like you cruising!  The crews on all these ships work their tails off and I’ve seen some passengers be so rude to them, like they were second class citizens or something. 🤬
