  1. If you have a specific hard to find cabin -- then I would go for it. Those cabins might not go down since there are so few of them. For example I am in a 4-person 6k on the Valor for a cruise next summer -- there is one of these cabins. The prices of the balconies may go down, but not this one, since it is the only one. I know that balconies might go down -- but I do not want them -- I want to try this cabin -- so when I saw it I scooped it up.

If $949 is reasonable and the cabin is specifically what you want -- then I would grab it.

  2. Mnelson is the inside / balcony option offered on the magic? Sounds like a good deal...

    Br,

They are only on the spirit class ships -- The Miracle, the Legend, the Pride. They are all the way forward on like decks 6,7,8 maybe -- so it is the last inside cabin connected to the first balcony.

We loved it on the Miracle in Alaska. There are not that many of them so you have to get there early and ask for it. We were just down the hall from Camp Carnival which was a plus for us (but probably would not be for non-kid toting people)!

  3. I think you have to decide how much you are willing to pay and how much space you want.

All of our cruises have been with our kiddos -- and the 4 of us in a tight space is not my favorite thing -- we have done it in an large inside room on the Destiny with everyone in the same space. That was a short cruise so it went fine. On all of our 7 day cruises, we have had 2 cabins. On the Miracle -- we had the inside/balcony combination which is a great money saver -- I wish all the ships had that option. Otherwise we have had connecting oceanview cabins.

Today I booked a 6K on the valor -- the scenic oceanview room. When I called to ask for that room in particular I knew more about it then the guy I was talking to at Carnival (although he was a wonderfully awesome rep). If you read the boards, you will learn about all the different types of rooms and what works for your family. That is part of the fun of planning your vacation!

And if you have specific questions -- feel free to ask!

  4. Hello All!

I just booked my next cruise -- I sailed in July to Alaska and was missing following these boards and having a cruise planned. We have some land based vacations coming up -- November to Disneyland, January to Cancun, Summer to East Coast -- but nothing quite compares to the anticipation of a cruise.

The current sale seemed like a good one -- so I went for it.

I am looking forward to those 433 days passing quickly!

  5. Hello All!

I was diligently checking my fare viewer this AM, when I noticed that all of a sudden the Glory was showing having 6K and 6J categories, which did not exist earlier.

I read these boards so I know about the problems that one person had with these rooms on the Conquest (they were not completed during dry dock so the people who were called to upgrade to them had no trip!)

I called Carnival and the person I talked to said they know nothing other then what they read on the screens and that she is showing a 6K available. I told her I did not want that room and had concerns it was a mistake, and she said I knew more about it then her! (I also tried to get her to price match to it, but she would not)!

Anyway -- I tell you this so you anyone on the Glory can beware! (at least for a week or two -- and then Sweet -- cause I really love the look of those scenic ocean views)!
