  1. Hello All,

We are close to finalizing three new Voyages for Azamara Quest in September and October 2015. Our plan is that they will be in the system and open for sale on Tuesday 12 May 2015.

    Here a few highlights -

4 night Voyage 26 Sept - 30 Sept 2015 - Nice to Barcelona featuring St. Tropez, Mahon and Palma de Mallorca

8 night Voyage 30 Sept - 8 Oct 2015 - Barcelona round trip featuring Rome, Florence, Lucca, Calvi/Corsica, Monte Carlo and Palamos

3 night Voyage 8 Oct - Barcelona to Nice featuring Corsica and Cannes

There will be very attractive reservation programs for individual sailings and back to back opportunities. We hope you still have time in your holiday schedule in 2015 to join us for these new adventures around the French and Italian Rivieras.

Thank you as always for your continued support. Azamara Club Cruise

I have seen ads for these cruises in UK TAs and nothing mentioned on Azamara web site. Are you selling these UK only and keeping the rest of us in the dark???

Thank you, AzamaraJoel. This looks tempting. The first 4 day cruise has fantastic ports. Saint Tropez during "les Voiles de Saint Tropez" sailing week is stunning.. Have never visited Mahon or Palma with cruise ship. Absolutely interesting:)

  3. I am in the UK and click on that link. It takes me to a page with the Union Jack at the top. Certainly as far as the liquor is concerned it's the same price it's always been ie $12.95/$15.95/$18.95 per day. If I then change the country to the US it comes up with $15.95/$18.95/$21.95 per day. Odd. Perhaps they just haven't updated the UK site yet.

To be honest I don't have a horse in the race because I'm happy with the vodkas they have as standard and that is all I drink. Occasionally I'll splash out on Stoli Elit which isn't included in any of the packages and is pay extra.

    Phil

You are right, Phil. Seems like Australian and British pages are presenting the lower prices. Obviously they have increased the liquor packages with 3$ per day. We tried them on a cruise two years ago and found them not to be worth it, for our type of consumption, even at the old prices. Quite happy to go with the included package and then buy the occasional cognac or port whenever we feel like it:)

  4. As for replacement voyages, I have not seen the itineraries but I have it on good authority that there will actually be three shorter-than-usual itineraries in the Med. Tactically this makes good sense to me for two reasons: people book shorter cruises closer in, and new people book shorter cruises to try out the product.

I also understand the ports will be different to make 2-3 voyages affordably combinable using B2B savings.

Personally I can't wait to see the itineraries...I love to visit the Mediterranean countries in September and October when the kids have gone back to school.

Bonnie that is great news.(off course sad for the april 2016 sailing ) Have been looking for "something" in that period and a good deal on a 5 day cruise would be great. Looking forward to seeing the itineraries.

Now, that said: The moving of the dates for drydock must have been a blow for Azamara. I am very sorry for all of those who had hoped to sail on the refurbished ship and even more sorry for the people that had their cruise cancelled in april. I don't read the explanation in the way that this has any economic incentives, but either that the contractor was not able to perform the upgrades on scheduled time or that the upgrade has been decided to be more extensive than previously planned.

  5. I have some other friends on board as well and they are feeding some pictures and info via FB. Enjoy:D

:D:D...and they just shared some pics from last night. Looking good Phil. See you are enjoying yourself:):p

  6. Hi, Phil. Interesting to know what prices are in the bars and for wine at dinner. So many people go for the bigger ships and I can respect that. I don't think we will ever do it for a longer cruise, but the cruise you are on now would be the perfect opportunity just to give it a try.:) I have some other friends on board as well and they are feeding some pictures and info via FB. Enjoy:D

  7. Thanks Phil,

Would you mind answering a few questions.

May I ask what time and where the dinner menu is displayed each day

    And

How on earth do you decide if you are going to eat in the dinning room or at one of windows special buffet nights.

Also do you eat at in the dinning room and then go to the white night party or is a buffet served on that evening?

We would also like to try the speciality restaurants but we don't want to miss the white night if it is held. Do the staff in the speciality restaurants know when this event is held?

    Thank you

    • May I ask what time and where the dinner menu is displayed each day

You can go and see around lunch time if they have put up the menues for Discoveries in the Discoveries Lounge, and in the hallway outside Windows Cafe

    • How on earth do you decide if you are going to eat in the dinning room or at one of windows special buffet nights.

You don't have to decide , You can make a snap deciscion as late as you want. Windows have fantastic buffets and I would prefer to eat there on sunny warm evenings. ( my preference)

    • Also do you eat at in the dinning room and then go to the white night party or is a buffet served on that evening?

We usually wait until the buffet on the pool deck at the white night is set up and ready and eat there. Others might want to dine in the MDR and then go up to the white Night Party. If it is a nice warm evening, the White Night Pool Party will be packed and it will be difficult to get good places.

    • We would also like to try the speciality restaurants but we don't want to miss the white night if it is held. Do the staff in the speciality restaurants know when this event is held?

They would know when you order your speciality restaurants, even if it is just after boarding the ship on the first day.

  8. There is an interview on Chef Monica coming out in a week or two. I'll post a link to it when it is available.

Thank you, Bonnie. I was so impressed with Fabio and his crew last time on the Quest. I guess we will have a mouthwatering experience next time on the Journey with Monica as Head chef. Counting down......:D

  9. Right.

Now, maybe you should have titled the thread "Booked a GTY and have a question about my cabin" rather than giving an inflammatory title that leads people to believe Azamara doesn't treat its loyal customers well. This business of generalizing one person's possible issue (and there was no issue in this case) and making it sound like it applies to everyone grows old here on Cruise Critic.

    Like:)

  10. Just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Captain Jason for all of the fabulous cruises we have experienced with you on the Journey over the years. From your first welcoming smile, to the many wonderful chats, the stormy seas, the ever-changing ports (loved those mystery cruises), you always handled everything that was thrown at you with professionalism and good humour! You will be sadly missed by your Azamara family, but we know your Southampton family will benefit from this decision. We wish you ONLY the best of everything in your future life and again say THANK YOU for giving us so many awesome Azamara memories over the past several years. You will be missed!

    Hear hear:):):)

  11. We are docked next to Journey in Barcelona today and I saw a friend I sailed with on the spring T/A on Quest last year...she said all is well for her and all her friends on board with plumbing...sounds like she and Phil agree!! :) LuAnn

In Barcelona??? Journey left Gibraltar yesterday at 3 pm. Must have been another ship you saw. She is currently cruising towards Syracusa on Sicily.

  12. Thanks, Procter, for a descriptive review and what would be our biggest fear for our upcoming cruise in May.

    First of all:

Captain: There should not be any difference who is the driver. However there seems to be some, and the Master of the Wessel should be keeping the organization in "ship-shape" no matter what. Your troubles with the tenders is unheard of and should be reported to a safety organization. I work within Air Traffic Control and any discrepancy is reported,- even if it is your own fault. Safety is first.

    Food and beverage.

Well this would not have happened if Jonathan was on board. The F&B manager on your cruise must have had a bad watch.

If they have cancelled the draught Becks from the included package they might as well stop serving beer. The rest is undrinkable.

Other problems: Aircon, steaks, halibuts and burgers: as it seems: Everything is slipping slowly and certain this line is getting more and more like the cheap ones and cannot call themselves "club cruises" for any reason.

We are sailing with Jason in May and for Gods sake I hope Jonathan will be on as F&B manager. IMHO that might be the most important person on any ship. I don't care about the Captain, as long as it is a safe and reliable one - but it sure doesn't sound safe with any ship that doesn't have enough fuel in their lifeboats.

  13. Depending on time of the day and everything taxis is an ok option. We got a taxi last year from Taxim Square to the Blue Mosque and the traffic was not too heavy. Mind you this was the only option at that time because of the riots

  14. This summer Azamara Journey called into Bergen, Norway. I have now added photos of this visit to my hobby blog of cruise ships in the city, which can be seen here.

    http://shipsinbergen.blogspot.no/2014/07/azamara-journey.html

I hope this will be of interest to some of you. It was a beautiful sunny day and she looked really well alongside at the quay :) She has definitely made it onto my cruise bucket list!

Thank you. As I am from Bergen these pictures are always nice to see. Captain Johannes always gets to "park" at the best spot in town. Bradbenken or Festningskaien as you call it, is the closest dock to the city.

  15. BTW thank you oddjob16 for the reviews. I know our friend will be interested.

The complimentary wines may differ slightly but my reviews are from the original list. Prices vary from $9-$20. Not top shelf wines but all very drinkable. The assortment, or content, of the wine packages where you can buy more expensive wines are not available. They just state that you can choose from a range of wines at about $50- or $50+
