Sure you can order a pizza and share it.  That said, there are still some outstanding questions around what is PCL doing in terms of policy in practice on the ships.

Scenario 1:  A couple orders 1 meal under prix fixe (now a cover charge) option, plus two beers.

If they are both on Standard Fare, what happens if the other person eats part of the pizza?  The person ordering could take away half the pizza and then anyone could eat it (of course this defeats the idea of dining together).

If they are both on Plus Fare, do they charge the second person who only ordered a beer one of their allowed visits even though they ordered nothing other than a beer?

Interesting scenarios, particularly where a group of people are together with various Std / Plus / Prem packages and an assortment of pizzas on the table - who ordered what and is anyone taking a slice from a pizza they did not order? Impossible to police and crew usually avoids anthyng that might be confrontational.

My specific interest is one couple on Plus sharing a Pizza - is this one visit or two? I can see the crew just logging it as two visits by default. We have a 20-day cruise coming up. We will have Plus so four visits instead of two would be nice. Though paying for a couple of pizzas will not break the bank.

Neither of us has a phabulous wine palate. The most expensive Champagne I have ever tried was Dom Pérignon and it was too dang dry for my taste. If I feel I must have bubbly the Prosecco will likely suit me just fine. I realize this likely marks me as a Barbarian to those who do have developed palates and love a very dry Champagne but such is life.

Me too - never buy more than you can taste,

Right now the website is not working, when I go to my itinerary it lists all the ports but when I click on a port to look at the excursions that are available nothing comes up.

I am, however, able to access them through the app.

How do you get to them using the App? Does the web based App also work? I tried web app but could not find a link to Excursions.

I right click on the link and then select "open link in new tab" from the context menu. I use Firefox.

I did that in Edge and get to the list of excursions for that port but then cannot bring up individual excursions. It looks like broken links.

  5. This has happened several times recently, log in to website and Manage This Trip. Excursions lists the itinerary and shows one booked excursion but not response when we look at details or try different days.

Tried with Edge and Chrome browsers, same result.

All cruises are less formal now. I haven’t worn a tie on any cruise since the restart. Heck I don’t even own a tie anymore

Funny you should say that, recently I was in our closet and saw my ties hanging there. The only time I wore them was on a cruise, not anymore and I wondered if I would ever wear one again 🙂

    My experience...

We were on the August 2 sailing of the Sapphire in Alaska, the cruise that kicked off this whole brouhaha re Alfredo's. We, DW and I, both ate four lunches in there. The first one, price fixe, never showed up on either of our portfolios . The second showed up as individual a la carte charges for the appetizers and pizzas, but no listing at all for the desserts we had. When I noticed this that evening I went to Guest Services and explained to them that we had ordered from the price fixe menu and that we had the Plus package and that we were under the impression that this meal should count as one of the two free ones. She said she would contact Alfredo's. When I checked my portfolio the next day, the charges had been deleted.

Before I was seated by the host of Alfredo's prior to the third lunch, I asked if he could check to see how many of my two free meals were left on my and my DW's accounts. He returned and said, "Two". I decided not to dispute that. So four freebies in all.

When casually chit-chatting with any different host or server, I made it a point to throw in an aside that, "I liked this place better when it was free" under the assumption that any and all pushback can't hurt.

Over the four lunches, two on sea days and two on port days, Alfredo's was deserted. There were never more than four tables occupied, including ours.

So your two Plus visits each did translate into four visits?

I plan to take bar soap with me. I will either take a few "hotel size" bars or maybe a full sized bar of regular old Ivory. I do have issues when bars get small as my hands won't grip the dang things well at that point.

We use a small net pouch that ties to the bar in the shower soap tray. Makes handling bar soap easier. Dollar store has small bars of Dove, Yardley etc. and the pouches.
