As the cruise sector continues to evolve and adapt to an everchanging environment, we look forward to moments where we can share progressive movement. While continuing to prioritize the health and safety of our guests, crew, and the communities we visit, we are excited to begin transitioning to a point that more closely aligns with other travel and hospitality sectors. With that, we are pleased to announce the easing of test requirements for most U.S. itineraries.

Testing Update: For your clients sailing from the U.S. August 8 -  August 14th, 2022:
    • Fully vaccinated guests will only have to show a test result at boarding if the sailing is 6 nights or longer.
    • Unvaccinated children will still need to show a test result to board all sailings, regardless of length. However, they will not need to test again at the terminal.
    • Guests will now have the same test standard, regardless of vaccination status: You can show a negative test result from a supervised PCR or antigen test taken within 3 days of boarding day.
This revision does not apply to guests whose itinerary visits Canada or Bermuda. These clients will still need to follow our current testing protocols until further notice.

Please note that guests confirmed on U.S. sailings departing on or before August 7, 2022, should adhere to protocols previously communicated.

For those clients booked after August 14, 2022, please await the specific protocol details from us related to those sailings.

As we begin to transition to a point where everyone, regardless of vaccination status, will be able to sail with us once again, we continue to work closely with our destination partners. Additional information will soon follow, however, until then, current vaccine guidance remains unchanged.

So 3 days for the US.  Any info on Copenhagen?  That would make my life so much easier!

We found the foreign carriers had better mileage availability than the US carriers.   Delta wanted 325K miles per ticket to get us to Paris.   Air France wanted 90K.  You can use Delta miles on Air France, so it was a no brainer for us.

How can you book delta miles on air france?  Do you have to use your Delta skymiles number?

  4. Yes testing is a big PIA but, In all honesty, keeping testing does not cost Royal anything other than refunding those who testing positive in the first place.  They would rather refund them through pre cruise testing then, having even larger numbers of covid circulating, overloading medical with testing and treatment even in minor cases, using large sections of the ship for quarantining, providing extra manpower to clean, deliver food etc, and having to re route ships in case of extreme emergency.

Right now most ships are sailing at capacity, so the testing isn't blocking too many people from going on cruises and those people who do not want to test they are filling rooms with those that are willing to test.

When schools are back in session, then they may look at the drop of capacity and re visit the testing requirements.  Once they drop those requirements, it would be very difficult to bring them back.

Given the alarming rise in cases in the UK I'm surprsied no one else has asked about this.

We cruise next weeked - 24th July and have tests booked in Barcelona.    However, my wife has just tested positive in the UK.    There is a chance that she'll be negative before we fly so we might be OK.    If we manage to crusie does anyone know what RCL will do when we answer the health questioaire and say we have been in contact with a positive case?   Will they let us cruise (we'd all be negative), will they quarantine us on ship or make us test everyday?

Secondly, if we can't cruise I beleive we can get a full refund.    I assume we'll need proper documentation to prove an infection.     Has anyone got any expreience of cancelling 3 days before thier cruise due to COVID?   How long did the refund take?

    Thanks

    M

Sorry to say Royal requires no covid in the previous 10 days.  You will need documentation from a proctored tested versus a self administered covid test for a full refund. The health questionnaire asks if anyone tested positive within the last 10 days as well as exposure in the past 14 days.  Your timeline won't work in ordeer to board the ship.  I had 2 cruises in this scenario, one for me the day of the test and it was a surprise as I was asymptomatic, the other was my husband 3 weeks later who tested positive 1 week prior and still tested positive.

      Vaccination
All guests 12 and older must show documentation of their full vaccination given at least 14 days before sailing (not counting your sail date). For the best European experience, we recommend guests be up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccination. To be considered up-to-date: - guests must have received all doses in their vaccine series and their booster if the second vaccine dose was administered over 270 days (9 months) ago - their vaccine dose must be on the list of EMA approved vaccines Children 5-11 who present proof of full vaccination and are up-to-date may follow the protocols for up-to-date guests. Royal Caribbean accepts vaccines that are fully approved or authorized for emergency use by the U.S. FDA or the World Health Organization, with the exception of CanSino.

      Entry requirements
It's critical you review travel guidance issued by each country you'll be visiting on your sailing prior to travel, including your sailing's departure port. Failure to meet the requirements for each country will result in denial of boarding.

      Port stops
Fully vaccinated guests can visit most ports freely. Depending on their itinerary, guests who are not up-to-date with their vaccines/boosters may require multiple tests to disembark in ports of call. Local health and safety guidance must be followed at each port of call.

      Protocols subject to change
All health and safety protocols are subject to change. We are committed to communicating any updates that may occur prior to your cruise. Future protocols may include booster requirements, lowered vaccination ages, and/or changes to testing. While not currently required, vaccine boosters are recommended.

      Source
Information about COVID-19 symptoms presented here is sourced from the CDC.

      Certificate of Recovery
A Certificate of Recovery and a positive PCR test taken between 11-90 days prior to our sail date can be provided in place of a negative pre-cruise test to sail with us. Please note: we will not accept a Certificate of Recovery in the place of a vaccination record. Some ports of call do not accept Certificates of Recovery for the purposes of debarking and enjoying the destination.

This still talks about Certificate of Recovery in lieu of negative test.  Hope they just forgot to take that part out.

  7. We were on in June and at the time Hailey Park, Bao, Jade (when Bao goes home), & Yen were the genies.

We had Hailey, but was notified the day of sailing she was unfit for duty, (Covid?) and was transferred to Bao, then Bao came down with Covid and we ended up with Hailey.

They both were very good genies, but make sure you ask for what you want, food, activities, etc.

good news on the horizon....Europe is no longer requiring negative tests to board any cruise ship leaving any port in Europe(except for one damned port in Greece). That will allow early travel to Europe. The word is that this might put pressure on the CDC to lift requirements to lift negativ test results for cruises boarding in the US.

Currently, only the US, Canada, and that strange port in Greece are the only places in the world requiring the tests.

Hopefully the whole thing goes away by Sept 1st.

Is this a new change today?  Is this for all cruise lines or just Holland america an NCL?

... and keep watching https://www.clubroyaleoffers.com/ for additional offers (which have to be better than your Prime offer).

Thanks, but nothing ever shows up in there other than a 100 off a cruise.  What kind of offers do you see as a Prime? I finally called them to get more info.   I can't do an inside room due to claustrophobia issues and they were saying I would have to pay market rates for a balcony or suite with a 5% discount and only get the 500.00 value if I do a short or longer sailing or a holiday.

Question about the COR doctors note and it’s timeline. If you test positive 11 days out when can the note from your doctor be dated? I’m asking because my son tested positive and the pediatrician is convinced it’s from his positive in April and not a new infection. It’s seem shady if he tested positive on June 30 and the letter is dated July 5th.

When is your cruise?  If it is within 90 days of his April pcr test and that test is document she can write it using the April test date and date the letterr July 5th.
