Thank you so much for taking the time to put the labels on the pictures! I actually may go out of my comfort zone and try some new things since I can see what they are so easily.

So I just booked a cruise for next October 2015 with a TA for the Oasis. We got an interior room with a window overlooking Central Park. Our total came to $1700, this doesn't include gratuities. We also got $100 OBC. Since this is our first cruise I have nothing to compare it too. This was with the BOGOHO sale. Is this a good deal?

It is a good deal based on historical pricing. Please keep in mind you can watch the website for a reduction that may allow you to upgrade to a balcony.

Another question.
Thank you for taking the time to answer.
Is there a separate area for breakfast and lunch for suite guests? I know it varies from ship to ship.

In my former life, I was responsible for testing and quality of our in house software that we sent out to the sales force to price our products. I can't tell you the number of errors we catch being an end user. It looks like Royal doesn't have any testers or Quality assurance personnel. Maybe I should apply!

Thank you. Have a great cruise. I will be looking forward to your honest review of the cruise. I am bringing my 4 sisters, 3 nieces and 2 daughters; most have not cruised before and I would like to make it a pleasant experience for them.

Can you tell me if there is a separate entrance at the pier for Suite guests ? I cannot remember from my Liberty cruise. We are sailing in July.
Thanks.

We are going on the Vision of the Seas.
Does anyone know if this Pier has a separate entrance for suites like the Allure/Oasis pier or is it one long line through security and then you separate?

Also, keep in mind that the number of bookings have gone way up in the 2015 2016 years. That is good for the bottom line. Think about it. This is an estimate.
They have 438 cruises listed for that time period.
Avg capacity of 2,000. of which 50% are now booked becasue of the sale
Avg down payment 125.00
438x(2000 x .50) x125
For a grand total of $54,750,000 interest free loan.
Even if there were cancellations, ships sale full and they will get higher prices for the cabins as time goes by which will even out the sales prices given.

I found a great deal on a cruise and will be travelling with my 2 teens. We normally book 2 rooms. I normally book a suite and an inside room. The cost of the inside rooms are high right now (cheaper to put them in the suite with us) so I was going book them in the suite.
I realize that inside rooms tend to go down after final payment. Has anyone ever been able to switch the 3/4 passenger off of an existing reservations after final payment to a room by themselves?
I know I can get price reductions if the rooms go down until final payment, but my TA charges 25.00 for price reductions.

Either way should be fine. I had my husband and my daughter in the room and myself and son in the other room. My husband and I went to the CL sans kids without any problems.
So either way should work. However, keep in mind your muster stations may be different and it would be better to have an adult in each room in case of emergency.

You can also call ahead and have it delivered at a specified time.
That way it is ready when you are. If you call during peak times it may take quite a while.

I don't know if the concierge on Oasis will provide that service...that does sound very helpful.
We just ordered ahead of time because our room steward told us to do it that way during our first meeting with him...otherwise we would have had no idea and would have probably had the same wait times you had.
This may have only come up because we mentioned that we planned to dine in our room a lot, or it may be normal for them to mention...I don't know.
Alfonso gave us the menus for the next day's breakfast, lunch and dinner during turn down service, so we had plenty of time to decide if we wanted to order in or go to the buffet.
Too bad they did not upgrade anyone to the Royal.
You are right, when we were on the Oasis they would probably not order anything for you. I think the Jewel experience was just an exceptional Concierge with less suite rooms to take care of.
Did you get offered a bridge and galley tour?

I noticed all of the pillows on the bed. I have seen where one of the suite perks was a pillow menu, but have yet been presented with one. Were all of the pillows different "fluffiness"?

We ordered ahead of time...as late as around 4pm once, and just asked for delivery at a specific time. They will deliver room service from the dining room menu only during hours that the dining room is open, so we usually picked between 6:15 and 6:30.
We also ordered snacks from the standard room service menu twice. We were told a wait of up to 45 minutes, but it never took longer than 20 minutes.
The food was perfectly hot and meats were cooked to order and arrived at the correct temperature.
Just to let you know my experience. I was in a GS on Oasis and did not order ahead of time. It took 1 and 1/2 hours for the food to arrive for the 4 of us.
When I was on the Jewel, the concierge ordered ahead of time for us. That was a nice perk!

I was looking at the Royal Site about the 48 hour gty of prices after final payment. It says if you book with them then they will give you 110 percent back on OBC. If I book with a TA does the 48 gty still apply?

We run into this because when I book Suites. I have three children 17, 16 and 16. WE book an adult in each room. The kids stay in the room by themselves and my husband I use the CL and have never been questioned about it. I do not bring them into the lounge, nor do I use pool or theater seating.

Can the Concierge make new keys/ extra keys at their desk or do you have to go to Guest Services.
-
I think that happens all the time. We got upgraded from an OV to a balcony and there had been no balconies showing for weeks so I assume that is what happened in our case.
I hope this is the case. I have a GS on Vision and there are only 2 GS booked right now with 3 OS open. That would be nice, but I am not counting my chickens..:)

Go for the JS and treat yourself!

One more question. Was the luggage valet available?

IRISHGAL432;
The first evening when the Viking Crown was used as an overflow for CL and DL was not handled well. Anyone could use the Viking, as no one was checking cards at the 2 elevators. As a result, that was full by 5:15..
I think they were totally unprepared for all the Diamond and up guests. Way over 100. Things calmed down the rest of the cruise. But, that first evening was a zoo.
Once again, thank you. I can imagine that they were unprepared for all of the Diamond, and Diamond plus especially after sailing out of the US. I am not going until July 3rd so hopefully, they will get all of the kinks worked out .
Did they have breakfast and lunch options in the specialty resturants for Suite Guests?

IRISHGAL432:
I did not see a seperate line for suite guests @ guest relations
Also, about debarkation. On the Liberty, suite guests are escorted off the ship by Concierge, which is a great perk.
On Vision , Suites were told to meet in Chops @ 7:45. Betsy (CL Concierge) was there with a walkie talkie. When our time came to disembark, we all just walked out to the Centrum, where we came across a long line and "lotsa" people. So, no special line for suite guests
That is a bummer about disembarkment. I have been in a suite on Enchantment, Jewel, Oasis and Brilliance and had the option to meet go be walked down, through a separate exit. I have seen separate lines at Guest services on several ships. I wish they would all be consistent.
Also was the whole Viking Crown closed off for overflow?
