We will be doing Princess Quebec City to NYC for our 30th. Every 5 years since our honeymoon we have found an old time photo place of some sort on vacation. (Where you dress in costume for a different era.) Have you noticed any of these places in QBC, Segueny, Charlotte Town, Halifax, Bar Harbor, or Sydney? We would like to keep up the tradition.

There is a location on Prince Edward Island, although I haven't personally been to the studio. If you look at the map it is in the area of Anne of Green Gables Heritage Place and Cavendish Beach, two popular tourist attractions on tours to the North Shore area of PEI.

  2. We rented cars in Saint John, New Brunswick and Halifax, Nova Scotia for our party of 4 during our Canada/ New England cruise about 7 years ago. There are car rental locations close to the cruise terminals. Not sure how expensive or how available rental cars are currently. Depending on how long you are in port,  it may be worth checking into for DIY flexible touring.

In Saint John we drove out to St. Martins, drove part of the Fundy Trail Parkway, which was very scenic, stopped at the Sea Caves, and ate at a seafood restaurant near the caves.

In Halifax, we drove out to Peggy's Cove, and made several other stops including the Citadel in Halifax. We could have stopped at the cemetery, but decided not to.

Ha! Easy with the ingredient list

    start with

    2 oz ciroc pineapple

    1.5 oz coconut water

    0.5 oz lime juice

    0.5 oz simple syrup

Add above to a shaker tin, shake, and double strain into a collins glass with ice. Add a splash of club soda and mix gently with a bar spoon.

adjust the amount of vodka and coconut water to your taste, just keep the equal amount of citrus and simple syrup to keep the flavor balanced. This should taste list a very refreshing pina colada without the coconut oil and less sweet.

This sounds like the recipe that I found on the Ciroc website. It's called Ciroc Vodka Colada. Slight difference in amounts:

    1.5 oz Ciroc pineapple

    1 oz coconut water

    0.5 oz lime juice

    0.5 oz simple syrup

    splash of club soda

Also other interesting cocktail recipes on their website.

  4. Here is an old thread about Sweet 16 cabins before they cost extra. The first 3 cabins on each side have steel columns and are totally covered by a roof above. I have stayed in a Sweet 16 cabin and liked the larger balcony with partial sun and partial shade, but personally would not want one of the first 3 cabins.

Were you outside final payment?  Was it a non refundable deposit.   If so you should have said cancel and rebook.   I bet their tune would have changed.   I suspect it was a lazy rep.   While new bookings only is almost always in the T&C they almost always will honor the new promo on existing bookings.

If you have the time I'd call again.

It was before final payment  and nonrefundable deposit. There is a $100 pp fee for canceling a cruise with nonrefundable deposit or changing date or ship, so I don't want to change my original reservation by canceling and rebooking. The rep was good and answered all my questions. I will continue to watch for price drops before final payment.

  6. Booked cruise on Sunday, 7/31/22 with $200 pp onboard credit. Called this morning to see about getting additional $50 pp onboard credit with new weekend sale. I was told that the offer of $250 onboard credit only applied to new bookings made from 8/5-8/7/22, so my request was denied. Please report back if you call and get a different response.

Quick question on the entrance to the thrill water park area on Perfect Day. Do we have to pay for children who are too young to ride anything?

We have three children. Two who are both above 48 inches and will want to ride most of the slides, and one child who is not even 40 inches and will likely just want to walk around and maybe swim. My husband and I will likely take turns with our older two regarding riding slides. However, for our youngest, since he cannot do much, will we still need to pay entrance for him?

How old is the child? Admission to the water park is based on age, not height. Ages 0-3 are free. If older, there's a fee.

I use rcldining@rccl.com email address each time we have a cruise because we have 4 rooms of 2 with 8 people.  They have always prior to sailing gone ahead and reserved a table for us.  We are leaving on the FOS in 12 days and have already secured an 8 top with Issac Dining Room with an actual table number.

We have My Time Dining designation.

Royal Caribbean must be inconsistent about using this email address for My Time Dining table reservations. I sent an e-mail to rcldining@rccl.com for my cruise in June, requesting that my party of 16 be placed at two tables beside or near each other in MTD. Our reservations were all linked and I provided all of our names and numbers. I received an e-mail response, which stated that rcldining@rccl.com is only used to make arrangements/requests for Traditional Dining Reservations, and that I would have to go directly to the Maitre'D as soon as I got on the ship to take care of my request. Fortunately, we were able to have our request honored on the ship and it worked out fine.
