  1. Just read an interview he gave the other day during the name reveal. He said it is geared for all adults. Not just younger crowd. He said as long as you like to have fun, doesnt matter if you’re 70, you’re welcome on board. It is kind of funny that Branson has never cruised before......

I know he said it is for adults, but honestly, some of the things he has on there just baffle me. Like at the back of the ship there are all of these mats it looks like but they are facing inward not outward towards the sea and I would think they would be very hot and sticky and yucky in the hot Caribbean Sun and there doesn't seem to be any place for a band or any height to them so I'm assuming you just sit on the floor which is weird to me. I don't know, I have serious reservations about this ship.

  2. IMO I haven't seen much yet that just blows me away. I hope they come up with more stuff that is different and mind blowing. That's what I expect from Virgin. The recent new builds from MSC and Celebrity have stepped up their game. I would expect Virgin to beat that or be on the same level.

I absolutely have to agree! What are they thinking? I want a resort style pool, ESPECIALLY if I am going on a Caribbean itinerary!!! And is this line only for the beautiful looking, really buff or model like people? That's the vibe I am getting, like if you are not able to be seen in a Miami club on a Saturday night and really fit, this is not the ship for you. Am I missing something? I expected to be blown away and am certainly NOT!!! From what I see, there's no way in hell I'll be on this ship, even though the outside looks cool and I love the idea of adults only. Oh, plus if you don't drink, it seems like you won't fit in as well.

  3. There are stairs to get in and out of mud baths. My mother in law has had both knees replaced and she was able to get in and out ok. Hope this helps!:)

Thank you so much! That's exactly what I wanted to know.

  4. So a really stupid question but how does one get out of the mud baths? I just had knee replacement a year ago and I certainly can't climb out without some type of stairs. Help!

  5. My sister got one of these offers, and it is a mystery as to how she got it. Does anyone know? We both gamble at high levels, but she gone one and I didn't. Just curious to know how in the world this works? She was lucky and got on the Horizon sailing for July 31 of this year in a balcony cabin. So jealous, lol!

  6. It is because of the weight the water adds high on the ship. For stability reason the top of the ship must be as light as possible compared to the lower decks. The structure of modern ships with a lot of high decks makes this challenging and they already build lower decks from steel and upper decks from aluminum.

OH thanks! That's what I thought but I didn't know that they made the top decs from aluminum. Makes perfect sense.

  7. cruiserke;53611119']According to this article and interview with Michael Bayley there are a few other changes to Symphony still to be announced.

Edited: The link doesn't seem to work here... Here is the relevant part of the article:

Thanks! I could never understand why in the world they took that Solarium pool away on Harmony. And I really couldn't say it was a pool it was more like a larger hot tub that really wasn't hot! It was always packed and I always think they need a larger pool in every area. Why in the world can't someone design a ship with a pool like they have on land? I assume it's because of the engineering and the real estate it takes up on the ship. I certainly wish they would set up pools wouldn't be so crowded.

  8. Did I miss it somewhere or does anyone know anything about any of the new features we will find aboard Symphony? I saw that one of the ships that is based in the UK, they asked people what they wanted and they are getting a trampoline park added. Anyone know of anything like that for Symphony? Just curious. Thanks!

  9. Does anyone know what time you arrive in Port Everglades on Friday or is it Saturday? I am sailing on Saturday and CANNOT wait! I want to be there for her arrival in the wee hours of the morning if possible.

Also, does anyone know who her Godmother is yet? I didn't look too much but I never heard who it was from the contest. I was so upset that it was only for those in southern Florida!!!

One other thing...is there anything that is not ready as of yet? Are all the shows and water slides/slide working? I sure hope so!! I heard bad things about her and am hoping that is not true!!! We are in a Crown Loft Suite and I have 3 cousins who have NEVER sailed, let alone on this class of ship and in this type of suite. I hope it is good!!!

  10. They did this when I was on the Dream in April. I don't know if it was every 10 minutes because I wasn't timing it but, it was frequent and difinitely much much sooner than a hour. Just as we would start to relax we would have to get out.

Very interesting! I love all of your views! I really have no idea of the real reason, and perhaps it wasn't every ten minutes, but I bet it was a lot more than I would ever think.

Also, I concur with the person who said the pools are WAAAAAY too small for the amount of people onboard. That seems to be the case with any cruise line. I still have yet to see one with enough pool space for everyone on a sea day (and that includes Oasis and Allure). Thanks! Keep the ideas coming!

  11. One of my clients came back yesterday from the Dream and said that they were in the main pool for about 10 minutes, then they would ask everyone to leave for 10 minutes and this went on for the entire afternoon. Anyone know why or anything about that? I was at a loss, as the last time I was onboard, there were no lifeguards so I don't know. Help! Thanks!
