After doing some research, it looks like a better option would be for us to rent a car at Playa Del Carmen and drive there ourselves.

Anyone here ever tried going to Chitzen Itza from Cozumel? We been wanting to visit for years but never tried because its really far from Cozumel and theres always the danger of not getting back to ship in time even during long stops at Cozumel. However, we just booked RCL Voyager of the Seas Nov 13th 2023 sailing which has a very unique itinerary of an overnight stop at Cozumel. 8am to 4pm (next day). This unique itinerary made me want to give it a try to go to Chitzen Itza from Cozumel. Was wondering if there are any tours from Cozumel or maybe ferry ourselves to Playa Del Carmen and catch a tour from there

This place seems fun for us and the kids but its on the mainland between Playa Del Carmen and Tulum. I don't see cruiseline offering a tour. Wondering if anyone know of any tour companies in Cozumel that offer it (park tickets + transportation). Our ship is docked at Cozumel from 7am to 6pm so it seems like its plenty of time.

Is this a joke/sarcasm, or are you serious? We are talking about a virus that used to be deadly but at this point is about as bad as the regular flu.
I think folks here are misunderstanding me, I didn't say I want the CDC to tighten restrictions. However knowing the CDC, I'm afraid any notable outbreaks could give them the excuse to tell cruiselines to tighten restrictions again, and the cruiselines would prob listen too. For example: if we get a few more Ruby Princess type incidents in the next few weeks. I'm 100% certain they'll ask to bring back mask mandates on cruises again.

Before you start another round of hallelujahs, do note that the Ruby Princess has had a bad outbreak. From yesterday...

Today, the thread's OP reported that he was positive and moved to quarantine. In addition, Sky Princess has also instituted N95 mask requirement. Lots of regrets. Hope that the government doesn't require a mandatory disembarkation test. ☹️
Just read the entire thread on the Princess forum, seems like the perfect excuse for the CDC to tighten their grip on the cruise industry again 🤦♂️

Lol just read this entire thread, folks here are brutal 🤣🤣🤣. Yea OP probably should've just taken the refund, I took it just cause there were so many uncertainties of us being in the middle of a Pandemic at the time, I could see possible disaster scenarios with taking FCC from a mile away. With that said, I think cruiselines should make it an exception and refund if someone can prove medically a legit reason they can't get the vaccine.

So regarding kids having to wear masks in Adventure Ocean, my kids actually don't mind having to wear a mask. But was extremely disappointed on our last cruise that they only let them spent 8 hours in AO for the entire cruise. I'm hoping they took away that limitation or is that still in place? Does anyone know?

Anyone know whats the mdr menu for that 8th extra day for this sailing?

Guess what dinner was😇
Decided to visit Pinnacle Lounge before the show.
It pretty much emptied out around 6:30. The orchestra was doing mike checks for their 7pm show. Really loud
So we went to casino so Laura could use her earned credits. She ended up winning $200 on Dancing Drums and she didn't give it back👍
Ahhh glad to see she won on my favorite slot game.

We have the exact same itinerary on the Odyssey March 12th, do you know if we're allowed to get off and explore on our own in Aruba and Curacao on our own, if we have kids under 12? They are fully vaccinated. Back in November our kids couldn't get off the ship unless we book an excursion with the cruiseline. But I think thats cause there were no kids vaccine yet.

So we have a Thanksgiving Mexican Riviera cruise booked on the Navigator. I heard with current Covid protocals. You can only take kids off the ship if you're doing an excursion with Royal and not book on your own. However today when I went to look up excursions to book on the Royal website. Literally all of them says minimum age is 12, while some have minimum age of 15. I know for a fact that the type of excursions I looked at allowed kids under 12 before. So is Royal pretty much saying kids under 12 can't get off the ships at all without directly saying it? Anyone brought kids under 12 onboard recently have any experience? Is Adventure Ocean open all day during port stops and can we leave them in Adventure Ocean duringthe entirety of our excursion?

For some reason I thought that cruising out of NY and NJ was halted until at least January.
Did I dream that?

I think that was just a rumor someone started.

Booked my tier offer earlier tonight, the offer itself never showed up on the clubroyal website, but someone on the Facebook forum have us the heads up that it's apparently in Royal Caribbean's system and available for booking. Called 20 minutes before they closed and booked my offer (combined with wifes offer for a JS) with kids sail free applied which expired tonight. Thank goodness I saw the Facebook post.

If we let Covid-19 run rampant like the Flu, you're probably talking about deaths in the Millions.

We were on Oasis too. Still symptom free.
Hope everyone washy washy-ed enough!
I know both ships were together in Costa Maya, so what are the chances only 1 person per ship? ...with letters going out at same time for both!
i am not trying to read much into it, but seems strange both letters were sent at same time.
That's the thing you never know, it could even be that only one person brought it onto one of the ships, and the other person caught it while in Costa Maya. Heck it could even be someone from the TUI Mein Schiff that gave it to people on both Oasis and Harmony.

Hi JZX 1103 coolcruiser , I was wondering what day did you see this on facebook. because I wondered how slow they sending out info to those of us on the cruise. They told us on the 13th about cruises being cancelled and in same annoucement by the captain that no one was sick on ship
She posted on Facebook and informed everyone last Thursday 3/19

wife just received an email from royal informing us that someone on our cruise has come down with the virus. just putting it out there. we feel fine and hope allare safe and health
Many folks knew already, there was a couple thousand people on the Facebook group for that sailing, the lady that tested positive informed everyone last week as soon as she found out the results and also informed Royal. Thus why we got the email. Good thing is, so far no other confirmation of positive cases among the large Facebook group.
-
Btw Harmony and Oasis were docked together at Costa Maya on March 12th. And passengers of both ships were stacked pretty close together in that crowded port.
-
Starting to get serious! If this keeps up, Royal will be banning Californians by the end of next week.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if within a few weeks, the entire European cruise industry shuts down like it did Asia. I'm not sure how the cruise industry survives. Especially if some experts predictions come true that the Coronavirus is here to stay for the long haul.

We were not concerned at all until today. Family member who was healthcare officer is very concerned because of the amount of cases that popped this week in Iran, Italy, and Korea. Royal is not stopping anyone from any other country from coming onboard at this point (my understanding) and neither the are airlines. The concern is for the young children in our group as well as the little known about the pneumonia that develops with corona (that’s the real issue) Tough choices to make but there will be other cruises, that’s is how I see it. We have a few more days to decide.
Royal did update their travel guidelines and added Japan, S Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and Iran to list of countries that needs extra screening . Also, study so far have shown children seems to be the least affected by the Coronavirus, with older folks most affected.
