  1. I believe it varies very much from ship to ship (Hotel Director !!!). We were on the Dawn in January and coming back to the ship in Cozumel the music was so loud, as you approached the ship (at the pier), it was almost painful to the ears. Our cabin was on the pier side and the balcony door was vibrating from the "noise". Called the reception desk and the music was turned down to a nice level within a few minutes. This was a case of the DJ left to his own devices with little supervision.

  2. Che, doesn't it hurt to bang your head against a stone wall so frequently? It seems as though every smoking thread that has a legitimate topic always degenerates into these pi$$ing contests. I always thought that thread hyjacking was against the rules around here, even to the point of having a sticky up above. They don't seem to be very even handed in enforcing rules with time outs or bannings. I guess, just like society today, rules don't apply to everyone equally. Sad!

As I have heard before, there are lies, damn lies and statistics. Any point of view can be back up with "research".

  3. Guys and Gals

I knew this was going to happen. I make a point about one item and some start to play a game by chiming in with something else. Some of you guys need to check out the buffet on the ships. I sail in suites and regular cabins. You can get the fresh strawberries and kiwi and other fresh fruit. I have seen smoked salmon too. The buffet has a HUGE selection of breads, muffins and croissants, etc.

Do you realize when they load the ships with all this food it is equally distributed between all restaurants.

The suite experience for breakfast is a highlight every day. But I hope some of you realize besides the fruit and bread.... the water, soda, flavored tea are the same in the MDR too ;)

Of course not everything is the same. That is NOT what I said at all. This thread started with the OP wanting to invite a guest for breakfast. I just was saying while a nice experience, you can get some of the exact food at the other restaurants. Some paint a picture somehow that a breakfast at Cagneys is imported from Paris or something. You may be surprised. Most of it is the same!

Where exactly is the buffet of breads, cheeses, fruits and cereals in the MDR?

The MDR is a good option and the buffet is also a good option. But, the food is fresher and better prepared (and items NOT available in the MDR or buffet) and in one tight little circle for amazing convenience. Plus the pressed coffee is so much better than you get in the buffet or MDR.

The same foods are NOT available all over the ship. Compare the pizza in La Cuciina vs. the buffet. Compare the meats in Le Bistro, Cagneys and Moderno to what is available in the MDR. So, some of your statements are just a we bit naive.

I know you can get these things in the buffet (maybe not all!). But some is here and some is over there and some is back over there, while your hot food is getting cold. Then, is there going to be a table available?

P.S. have you ever had the Eggs Benedict on the buffet? Ick!!

  4. I have never found Tahitian Vanilla Challah French Toast with Cinnamon scented macerated berries with Mascopone in any of the MDR's or buffet. When did you find this french toast in those venues?? Never had steak and eggs in the MDR or buffet either.

...or Fruits de Mer in Brioche, or Smoked Salmon Frittati, or Crab Cakes Benedict (mentioned earlier), or the buffet set-up with selections of breads, fruits, cheeses, cereals and meats.

  5. Honestly if you have a Haven suite you should be permitted to invite guests up to your cabin. If the arrangement you have includes certain privileges extended to your guests so be it. If NCL has a charge for special services for your guests that sounds reasonable, as a good host you should expect to pay for costs of entertaining your guests.

There is nothing to keep you from inviting guest to your Haven cabin. You just have to meet them at a lower floor and escort them to your cabin. The rub is using other perks and spaces granted to suite passengers, such as dinging rooms and the Haven space itself.

  6. Friends of ours rented a cabana and when I saw it I was actually glad I didn't. They are very close together and right in front of each other so there is no view (unless you are lucky enough to get the first row) and it was hot and stuffy while sitting in it. This is my own opinion and I am sure there are people who loved it.

There must be a pic out there that can show you what I mean......

Are you talking about the "clam shells" or the cabana's?

  7. Please elaborate if you don't mind.

    Thanks.

There is a private company called Rush-it Courier Service. They have a kiosk in the area just before you exit the building to catch a taxi or bus. They deliver your bags to a holding area at the airport so you can go off an enjoy NOLA before your flight. You retrieve your bags after arriving at the airport and procede to your airline for check-in. It is a great option if you have a later flight and want to have a nice lunch in the Quarter.

For more specific information you can call (504) 471-0080.

  8. The correct answer is yes if your OBC is refundable. If your OBC is non-refundable, then it cannot be used to pay your Discretionary Service Charges.

Why do you feel the need to propagate false information. They are not Discretionary Service Charges, they are Service Charges. NCL dropped the Daily term a long time ago and never called called them Discretionary. Yes, they used the term discretionary in the description for a while but not now.

    Get over it all ready.
