  1. Oh, that's new information to me. Do you know anything about the other levels?

All I know us that I have seen 4 separate VIP lists attached to the suite passenger list. The one we have been on, in the past, is called "VIP Royal Treatment". I have been told the " lowest" list is for friends of lower level crew members. I have no knowkedge of the middle two levels.

  2. I don't mean to be the party-pooper but I don't think that a TA could put anybody in as a VIP - otherwise TAs would do that all the time. From what I've read here, it's in discretion of HD onboard (and in some cases, HQ) but always within the cruise line, not their reseller.

But yes, being a VIP would mean pretty much all suite perks (concierge access, priority boarding/tendering/etc and suite breakfast and lunch) minus butler.

There are three or four different levels of VIP status. They all do NOT include suite perks. One of the levels I know only includes priority embarkation and afternoon snacks.

  3. The same thing happened when we finally got to the pier after waiting in the theater. We could have very easily got off the ship an hour before, walked around, gone into some stores and then met at the meeting place. After 4 cruises this was the first time we have ever done that. Not a big deal just frustrating when you have that amount of people headed all at one time thru two scanners, one seemed to be down off and on

It seems as though Tony had a similar embarkation experience on Celebrity some 4 years ago. The only difference is that he sounds like he has taken a creative writing course since then.

  4. Actually, so far that has been my experience in a nut shell. We do not like to waste time in a dining venue. Our staff have always read us very well and didn't waste time between courses. And yet tables around us that appeared to be enjoying their relaxed dining experience had more time between their courses. Same wait staff.

There was only one time that our staff did not read us well, and we requested less time between courses, they seem more than happy to oblige.

I can't speak for all servers on all sailings, only the ones we've experienced.

I have been in and out of any one of the dining rooms on NCL within an hour to make it to something scheduled and have also enjoyed a 2-3 hour dining experience. It just takes a request, or not, to the servers as to your wishes.

But, I guess personal experiences do not matter to a certain negatively opinionated individual, without justification once again.

  5. No need to wonder. Take a cruise or two and you will find out it usually IS really that slow.

You really are the master of out of context pot shots. You know very well that the speed of service is always tailored to the passengers request/needs.

Is it really necessary to misinform people and attempt to tear down NCL? What did NCL do to you to set you upon this nasty crusade?

  6. Because its so much more pleasurable for me to allow you to start your day of on the wrong foot. Enjoy the rest of your day & a huge THANK YOU! for your response. :) :D :p

Wow, someone got up on the wrong side of the bed.

  7. I would rather see advertisements on CC than FB... at least it is a "product" that I want - and I resent that I would have to join facebook to get a special promotion, offer, or discount. So CC, please keep protecting your product!

Have you not joined CC?

  8. I don't know. I think the term "or whatever" in the OP left things wide open to interpretation...

and that is what many people do around here....Interpret rather than simply answer the question at hand.

Wouldn't want any one to get anything they did not pay for and they will tell you what you deserve in no uncertain terms. Just an FYI, there really are people who get suite perks without "paying" for them. They are called VIP's and the did "pay" for those perk if you know what I mean.

  9. Suites and Money are always the issue. If you actually read what the OP posted, you will see that they are paying more money by having 2 cabins, so yes, they are paying for it. They would have saved money being able to book the family of 4 in a suite. So those that claim you are "paying extra" for the suite, just look. This family is paying more since they have to have the inside cabin. Just more food for thought.

Plus, the OP was only asking about embarkation, NOT all of the other issues that people feel they needed to bring up again and again ad nauseam.

  10. CAS is just not the same since they changed their tier system.....Perhaps if you were higher than lucky you would get treated a little better. Im not sure...This was the first cruise there was no little treat delivered to the room...believe me....I never needed it, just looked forward to it I guess. It made me feel a bit special.

Also I did not expect the host to cash my points in two days before the cruise ended...what is up with that? I did go up and voice my displeasure, the host reluctantly put them back, but he was upset doing it..

Someone tell me how the points are calculated over the year is it February to March?

The bartenders also got a little upset if you ordered something that was not house liquor....I understand and I was willing to pay for the drinks, I just didn't like the feeling that you wanted something for nothing....Maybe it was just me on the cruise but I don't think so.....All in all the Jewel took every dime of my gambling money and sent me home with nothing..here's hoping the Getaway treats me better......

Roe, hopefully it is limited to the Jewel. We were on the Jewel a few weeks back and did not get ANY warm fuzzy's from the casino personnel.

But, you are right, the new point system really sucks.
