  1. I recently changed my cabin # to 9304 bc we had a forward porthole balcony but after getting off another ship , we could really feel too much motion up there.

9304 seems to have straight walls, I am concerned we will have even less wiggle room than usual.

I have other follow up questions SPECIFIC TO 9304, which i will be happy to list if anyone  has 1st hand knowledge of this cabin.

    THANK YOU

  2. My opinion, depending on how closely related you are

either skip wedding because THEY changed date.

OR use your travel insurance to cancel 'for any reason' and rebook cruise under less stressful conditions.

  3. I believe they have changed the "included in", refreshment package since the last time I sailed before covid.

It seems no JR milkshakes are included .... but I don't see

Anything about CAN of soda or smoothie from spa cafe.

Can anyone tell me if cans are including but MORE importantly if smoothies are???

And it would be a huge bonus if.... you could tell me where to find that EXACT info, so i could screen shot it before i go

    THANK YOU

    Random thoughts:

    - Your check in will open at midnight in the time zone from which you'll sail.  If you're a time zone "ahead", then -- yes -- 11:00 is your time.

    - We've always been able to get 10:30 (on a big ship) or 11:00 (on a small ship).  Those have been the earliest times.

    - I thought the time slots were 30-minutes?  Like 10:30 - 11:00?  Someone else said an hour?

    - Yes, the check-in process is very easy to understand /quite apparent.  The time slot question will be the very last item.  First it'll ask for your passport number (or other documentation), your credit card number for your online charges, and it'll give you a chance to upload a photograph -- don't bother; they just re-take it at the port anyway.  Finally at the end you'll choose your time slot.

    - You must complete check-in for every member of your party.

Yes, most people want the earliest time slot.

In my experience, the ports ARE enforcing check in times.

Do note that if you get the earliest time, you'll still be behind certain special groups -- suites, Key people, I don't know who else.  My husband gets a bit salty about this:  We're in the 10:30 group!  Why are they going ahead of us?  Because they're special, Dear.

Thanks for the info, and yes DH is exactly the same lol

  5. My check in starts on the 14th ( yes I could just wait to find out, BUT that wouldn't be me LOL ) I am already planning on doing it at 11pm (my time) on the 13th, as per other threads has mentioned.

my questions , what are the usual times available??( like 10-4 or less... like 11-2)

I've downloaded  app so I can grab a time and finish check on the 14th, but app is pretty  bad, I have reserved all my shows thru website and it shows on website but a week later app still shows nothing on my calendar,

so my final question is.... when I go on app at 11pm on the 13th, will the check in/ choose a time,  be apparent and easy for me to understand

    Thanks in advance

I won’t mention the ship, but on one of my recent sailings, when we told our stateroom attendant to stock double towels/etc, they did, but also mentioned that they would do just a towel service in the evening (just grab dirty towels and put fresh towels if we used).  We were very happy with this and tipped extra accordingly.

    Excellent ty

Like others have stated, just ask your cabin steward for more towels. Keep in mind you may not be able to request morning service. On two of my last three cruises in the last two months the only option I had was afternoon/evening service because other cabins had already filled up the morning slots. If morning service is important to you, I would recommend hanging out in your cabin on embarkation day so you are one of the first passengers to meet your cabin steward.

Very interesting,  ty. This never dawned on me 🙂 more to over think and worry LOL 😆

  8. This will be our 1st Post Covid cruise in Dec. I will probably choose morning for the room to be cleaned. We often clean up for dinner(use towels) and we do full showers for bedtime(use towels). I won't re use towels on cruise ship (bathroom too small everyone touching my towel.

How do you or WHERE do i go to swap towels?

I will ask for EXTRA on the 1st day BUT they aren't usually replaced at the higher #, just the standard  count.

Some will say 'just call' or 'catch them in the hall'.... BUT in my experience this is NEVER the case, no one answers and not in hall when i'm around.

Any thoughts?, this will be the only aspect of once a day cleaning that will make my vacation more effort.

I've never reduced or removed tips BUT I GOTTA SAY if i spend time everyday hunting down towels ...... I MAY BECOME ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE.

  9. Has anyone ever been in an ADJOINING signature suite on the Nieuw Amsterdam.

I can't find a picture and I am curious about where the adjoining door is?? do you lose some closet or the vanity.

Trying to get a clear understanding, we would be booking with family, but NOT the same household. If I could see an image of the adjoining door OR hear from a 1st hand account....  I could decide weather to do adjoining or go for JUST nextdoor..

    Thank you

  10. I believe it could be possible that since their called "taxes and FEES" and aren't itemized, the cruise lines may have found a new revenue stream.

I say this BECAUSE when comparing different cruises on different lines with IDENTICAL ports, they have different taxes and fees (example ncl even when the prices are close and comparing only base rates)

So like a ncl vs celebrity, same $, cabin only no packages....until now ncl taxes and FEES have been  significantly higher.

And just like "resort fee(hotels) and checked bags fee(airlines)" All cruise line may be jumping on to the "FEE" creative accounting.
