I just got back from a 4 night cruise on the Carnival Dream yesterday and had a blast!

The formal night is on the second night of the cruise. The ship's main shows are 80s Pop to the Max, America Rocks, and Flick. All three shows are extremely good and I enjoyed them. Since this was a four night cruise, they replaced the Welcome Aboard Show dancing with 80s Pop to the Max. I thought this was a good switch.

Also, I am currently writing a review & posting pictures from my cruise to my personal cruise blog. I have been doing a review on another Cruise Critic thread too. If you would like to view my pictures that I have posted so far here is a link:

http://www.embarkandaway.com/carnival-dream-cruise-review-2020.html -  The pictures & review start with the link that is for Day 1 Part 1. I also have Fun-Times from the cruise posted here. This is my personal cruise blog and does not run ads (just a hobby).

Please let me know if you have any other questions about the ship!

Thank you! What time do the offer the shows each night and are there any theme nights, like tropical, etc. that affect your dress?

  2. Hi, If you've been on the 4 night Dream out of Galveston recently, can you please help me out.

Please give me an idea of if/when there is a dress up night? Are there any special themes or parties? What/when are the main shows?

Anything else must see or do?

    Thanks!

We leave the 15th of January for 5 days on Enchantment; have been on Liberty four times and love everything about Liberty; will give you our thoughts on Enchantment when we return but here are our anticipations:

    1. More pool time and relaxation time

    2. A bit less entertainment choices in the evening

    3. All of our dinners in MDR since we did not purchase a package as Chops and Chef's Table are only alternative venues

    4. Don't know if we will like enclosed solarium

    5. Less lines

    6. More quiet time

We will see if this proves true or false but we are looking forward to sailing Enchantment soon and again in September for 7 days to Bahamas and Coco Cay.

Please let me know what you think after next week. Also, fill me in on must do and eat. Thank you

  4. Taking Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas in two days and stopping in Jamaica and need to take a taxi To Montego Bay. How do you make sure it's an authorized taxi? Does anyone know if you can pay taxis in US dollars? Has anyone paid a taxi to Montego Bay? I know it’s not recommended, but I need to get to Sandals. What was the cost, of you went to Montego Bay, please? Thank you!

  6. When will stop in Jamaica next week on Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas. We are doing a beach day at a Sandals resort in Montego Bay. Has anyone used Taxis/transportation on their own in Jamaica and can make suggestions? Thank you!

Great location. Free wine and snacks at 5pm, very good breakfast.

If you are there when they offer their free guided walks they are very good. After many visits, we still learnt some new info.

The guide told us about free entry to the city hall on Sunday morning too, which was worth visiting.

Is that free wine and snacks for every guest? I don't see that mentioned anywhere. Thank you.

  8. Cruised many times but not on Royal Caribbean. Need some clarity on a few things.

Is it true you cannot bring water bottles on board with you?

Where can I see the events /recommended dress per night on my cruise? We sail December 29.

Also, is there a schedule of shows shown before you board?

Also, can you get luggage tags mailed to you or do you only get the online type you have to print and staple.

    Thank you!

    Great review.

We did Liberty for the first time this past May and are on her again in December.  We really like her.  You mention wanting to try the Vista we were on her in September and did not like that ship as much as the Liberty or even the smaller Carnival ships like Valor/Freedom.  Nothing really wrong with Vista we just did not like it as much.  Liberty is the only Royal ship we have done thus far but will not be the last for sure.

As for the specialty dining our favorite on Liberty is Sabor, Giavani's and then Chops.  We did not think Chops was anything special but I am a steak snob and don't really like any steak restaurant.  We have the key again for December so we will have lunch on embarkation day maybe they have gotten better.

We'll be on our first Royal Caribbean cruise in December. Where do you like to eat when you board the ship? And, what were your favorite MDR or Buffet foods? Thank you!

  10. Hi all, We have cruised often but this will be our first time on Royal Caribbean. We will be on a 7-night Liberty of the Seas cruise over New Year's out of Galveston, Texas.

    Have a couple of questions:

We got an e-mail yesterday asking us to make dinner reservations. We have any time dining, thought the purpose of this was to not need a set time or reservation. Since it is a New Year's Cruise and my husband's birthday, I did reserve a few dinners, but am I suppose to reserve all 7?

Also, on this 7-night cruise how many formal nights are there? Does Royal do a semi-formal?

And, what's the dress and what's usually done on New Year's Eve?

Would also appreciate any hints on boarding day, disembarking on last day, food not to miss, shows not to miss, favorite activities on board, etc.

    Thank you!

  11. We are spending two nights in Barcelona after a Cruise. The Hotel Barcelona Cathedral was recommended to us.
    Hotel Barcelona Catedral
    Carrer dels Capellans, 4
    08002 Barcelona
Is this is a good location? Is it within walking distance of sites and restaurants?  Thank you!
