  1. This is horrible! I really hope this person is local to Fl (or at least drove to the port) and is retired. Otherwise, they have to get a hotel or get a last minute flight. then there is the wasted vacation time at work. For NCL is just think a full refund is enough is ridiculous. Not like they had a choice in the matter. Maybe a 2 BDRM haven suite with first class round trip flights and transportation to/from the port could at least showed they cared. Not saying that would have made up for this, but at least it would look like they cared
  2. Hopefully someone with actual experience responds, but I do believe it's gone. I would also decline the fas drinks, but I recently booked my next cruise using a land based comp, and the rep NCL rep working the certificate pickup confirmed it was taken away. When I actually booked, the cas rep also confirmed the same. I went ahead and took the fas drinks. After taking all 9 of my previous cruises on NCL, I'm now giving MSC (next month) and carnival (in November) a shot. In addition to neither charging an admin fee, MSC also don't charge you for port fees and taxes. If I'm impressed with either, it could be the end of NCL with me. The one I booked isn't until January so I have plenty of time to cancel
  3. Not much of a beer selection, but it's more than what I'd have at work 🤣
  4. Thanks. I'll be paying cash, well using OBC
  5. Hello. Anyone have any recent pictures of the ocean cay drink menu, or know how much the beers cost? A bucket of Modelos would be great, if offered. Going to be there 3 days on my cruise, so I'm thinking this would be a nice spot to burn thru some OBC
  6. OP never said they were looking for a refund or FCC. In fact, they said they knew nothing was owed to them. OP simply was asking for others experience in this situation
  7. About to go on my first MSC cruise, and I'm looking into dining at butchers cut and teppanyaki. From menus I've found online, the dining experience menu at butchers cut is $39 and $44 at teppanyaki. That's $83 total. The price of the 2 meal dining package is $95. I'm obviously missing something..... Why would I purchase the package? Thanks
  8. well, I don't know if you consider Navy federal small, but PNC definitely isn't and they both ask for travel notifications. No need to call, it's done online
  9. I booked a Bella OV and received a balcony this morning. Sailing June 20th on seashore
  10. yes, MSC tech is horrible. and trying to contact support is even worse. I'm doing my first MSC cruise next month. I'm still hoping for an amazing cruise, but the pre-cruise experience is enough to maybe never cruise MSC again. Being that I work in customer server, it's hard for me to accept such poor customer service from places
  11. if you happen to go to casino, how many craps tables are there?
  12. you've had problems even after doing a travel alert, or you never did one?
  13. I went ahead and setup my travel alert yesterday. I added France and Switzerland to the list of countries for the trip just to be sure
  14. but now that I think about it, this was before chip credit cards. I probably don't need to do travel alerts anymore with chip cards. I probably just do it now out of habit
  15. wow. I find the cap 1 is the most likely of my credit cards that will throw up a fraud alert.
  16. same here. It's why I always call the bank beforehand.
  17. yes, but was it process by an US bank/processor? It seems like from other responses that it will be Paris or Switzerland. That is what I was questioning (the country). I just didn't want any charges to get denied because the bank would think it's fraud, especially since the day before the cruise I'd be in FL (checking into the hotel with my CC), then the next day a charge from Paris comes in. could very well look like fraud to bank. So I always make it a point to do a travel notice with the bank letting them know I'm going on a cruise and they list out all the countries on itinerary on the travel alert. I've only cruised NCL before, and their charges come from Miami
  18. Thanks. The first response said the same thing. this answer makes the most sense to me, especially if it's true that there are about 80 OV and over 1300 balconies. Like I said, it just looked odd to me, especially with so many people who swear by cruising in balconies. I'm not one of those people. I stay in whatever cabin the casino is giving out 🙂
  19. thanks, but I wasn't asking about what currency the charges would be in. I'm cruising roundtrip from the US
  20. now I'm getting the 502 error. and now I can log in with the booking number either, it claims either my booking number or name is incorrect. I'm not going to waste my time emailing the voyager club because I've been email them for over two months for other problems and they never respond. I wanted to wire some money to the ship for gambling, but I'm so afraid of MSC technology, that I'm just going to figure out the proper way to carry large amounts of $$$ out of the country. The non-response would be the mostly likely cause of my cruise being the only one with MSC. Poor customer service is a pet peeve of mind
  21. for those who have cruised MSC before, do their credit card charges originate from the US or another country? I want to make sure to add that country to my travel alert on my card if it will originate from another country.
  22. no I didn't count the cabins. It just looked strange to me, but that makes sense that it's just a numbers thing. I'm sailing on the seashore, which I understand is the sister ship to the seaside. so, I'd suspect the cabin numbers are similar, if not exactly the same. I usually sail in insides, so I'm totally fine with either the OV that I booked, or something higher.
