1. You sir are fun!! Thank you. I even have some of my dad's good dessert apples left from the tree this summer..

I will have to research the bird's instant custard. I enjoyed the Guardian post on cheese..but I am a big weakling on cheese..I need it mild and not too goaty..in fact only a very very mild feta. Like Tillamook Cheddar..a good one in Oregon that stocks many a west coast US good regular cheddar above a store brand level's kitchen.... but this is not what we are talking about..but I knew I was missing this one taste and digest delicacy..maybe would love port and fancy mild ones..

But this idea is brilliant..I will have to share with dad..we lost our wife/mom and this will be another fun cope thing..thanks, he now makes one mean apple pie with those apples..perfection and the even slicing is a big part of it...Sarah

until I married the current and much younger Mrs Haul the fun aspect of my persona was a double edged sword.Serbian feta tends to be made out of cows milk and is quite mild, the Greeks also produce feta from the cow but many regard this as heresy.Over here in Cheshire we like cheese that is strong enough to make your teeth itch.

The Birds custard was a poor pun.I wish you both good health. My Ma is 98 this year.

2. That is cool...I love the warmer serving with the carmalized sugar on top...

WCMC is just a bit too rich..I am not against it but wow...

I never got to try bitter and blanc..boo hoo...what was it like?

I have looked and i don't know if it is my age but old traditional type menus with choices and tablecloths..are so much better than the new no tablecloth more family restaurant style...

And I adored the cold soups..and warm soups..and fruit and fruit soups for dessert..sigh..to me that was the classey continental flair and choice level i loved...Sarah

I dont know why people get so excited over WCMC, from memory it was a rather crudely executed chocolate fondant.

My wife and I when eating outside the home prefer that the table is dressed for the occasion.

Try this, roll some all butter puff pastry out very thinly, cut in a circle and place on a baking sheet, prick all over with a fork the cover with shaving of good quality marzipan.Peel and core a firm dessert apple the slice using a mandolin, lay the slices on the marzipan to cover, brush with a little honey and bake near the top of a red hot oven till the edges of the apples start to caramelize.Serve with birds instant custard;)

3.
You can do it. I did. I had a heart attack at 53 and quit cold turkey after 38 years of smoking. It has been 7 months and I feel great. It is the best thing I have done for me and my family. It won't be long before just about everything is smoke free. Good luck!
well done, I had my heart attack Christmas day 2012 and gave up after 45yr.Over here we get encouraged to go to special cardiac rehab gym classes, these are free thanks to our fantastic NHS. I am fitter now than I was in my 50s.

To all you smokers please give up, you dont want to put yourself or your nearest and dearest through what happened to daniels and I.
4. The smoke from the whale-tail would have been darker, and more dense, if the ship was stopped. While underway, the wind carries the smoke away more quickly. It would take real billows of thick, black smoke for me to be convinced there was a serious fire below decks.

We've heard the Alpha team call -- it is definitely the fire-response team, who are working in different parts of the ship otherwise, probably in maintenance or engineering.

We've also heard Bravo team and Delta team; but crew would not admit which means missing child, missing adult, fight in the nightclub, medical emergency, theft/casino issue, etc. Each would have a different, specially trained team respond.

Code Adam is a missing child alert -- named for Adam Walsh, the child who was kidnapped and murdered in the 80's. His dad did America's Most Wanted. Code Adam is a national program, like Amber Alerts, that outlines specific steps most retail stores follow when a child is reported missing.

My wife was a (alpha)fire team member, she passed the Miami Coastguard test and still has the certificate.
5. Yes. And with the rapid increase in numbers of sick passengers and crew, seems like it's probable that the onset occurred from more than one source. You're right - we'll never know. (But wouldn't it be interesting if they really could trace it back to case one? :o ) If it was on TV I bet they could...

Judy

they might if they took stool samples for analysis from crew in the food supply chain who did not show symptoms. It the only way to find A-symptomatic noro carriers.
6. Why does someone always have to be at fault ? Isn't that why we call something's accidents ? Could the OP be at fault ? It's a shame everyone wants to blame someone else for their own carelessness. Just like the woman who got drunk and supposedly fell overboard, suing carnival because they didn't rescue her " fast enough ".
if someone runs a red light and smashes into your car killing everyone bar you...........yes your right that's called an accident. When they swab out the toilets they place a yellow sign on the wet floor........why?
7. Our worst cruise was on the Destiny. Sounds like it's back.
My third CC was on the Dysentry, we were ok because we were cat 11 or 12 and never eat in the buffet. When you combine an outbreak of Dehli Belly and malfunctioning toilets the smell in certain parts of the ship ruined my partners highlights:)
8. If a passenger is concerned about their safety, they shouldn't drink past what they can safely handle. It is obvious she was way past that point.
if her intoxication was as obvious as you say, why was she allowed to get to that stage?

Question, do the waitstaff receive a bonus for sales?

9. Not sure if you understanding, you don't "dump" your old "boats" onto the Chinese!

Have you been to Shanghai or Beijing, not to mentioned Hong Kong? Tons of rich folks there, in case you haven't heard.

I started importing to the UK from various regions in China in the 90s.The Beijing region is one of my favorites because of the cooking style.

The Chinese tourist is like most other tourist, the largest % like to travel to places where they speak the same language and eat the same food.

I know Miami was the 5th poorest cities in the US but to use your rather infantile analogy have you checked out the real estate prices in it more exclusive area's.

I think with some minor alterations to the fleet it will be a marriage made in heaven, after all the Chinese have been sailing in junk for centuries.
