  1. I'd like to point out again that the steakhouses will now have tableclothes. That really throws off a lot of the arguements on this thread.

Apparently Carnival recognizes that the table clothes go hand in hand with a nice meal.

disgraceful discrimination against vegans , I will send a missive to the Hague post haste.
  2. So true LOL

Seems ridiculous to go on a cruise with the idea of using the "guarantee"

Have not even seen much about it in recent years.

do you carry any form of insurance?

Ps we tried to invoke the then "guarantee" on our 4th Carnival Cruise about 5 yrs ago, although we booked and paid in the US we were denied as the said guarantee only applied to US and Canadian citizens.

  3. Yes last week we had some very cold weather and just a small amount of snow which did not last very long. Someone always builds a snowman up at the view point, perhaps to enjoy the view? It appears we will be having a long, cold hard winter and I expect to see snow again very soon - perhaps a white Christmas.
plenty of good fish in the markets then, loads of Lignja about.:)
  4. (And to the OP: using a thread title where you claim to know what is interesting or important or essential to every single CC member who reads it is pretty arrogant IMHO)

Ouch! Never my intention to be considered arrogant. Never heard of this site before and just wanted to share it. Perhaps a better title would have been ' of interest to cruisers ', missing out the word all

Don't worry Babs the Americans do seem to be rather tender about web sites at present,at least this one works:)
  5. Do tell us more.....do you know what takes place that can be classed as inter-crew extortion? Is the captain or head waiter really some sort of Don Corleone figure? Are the Triads running the laundry?
This is an extreme example, a few yrs ago a British chartered ship had a disproportionate number of male/female single pax, the hotel staff were recruited through one agency in Asia. The Hotel manager was sacked and the new hotel staff were recruited from eastern Europe, the number of single pax went back to industry norm. Why do you think that happened.
  6. I didn't say wether I thought it was good or bad. I could really care less either way. I was just stating what I saw on my last cruise. If this is the way on all ships I don't care. If it isn't like this then cool. It would not effect my cruise either way. Like I said I never saw this on previous cruises.

Ps I do not need to confer with anybody. God bless. Hope you have a great night.

So you dont really care about the peace and security of your fellow Carnival pax:rolleyes:
  7. Oh no, they were separate times. Not happening at the same time. Sorry for the misunderstanding. They weren't adults in the same hot tub drinking with kids in it.
I believe you, after all that's why he is there to stop that sort of activity. In the thread you mentioned the security guard on permanent daytime duty on the Lido deck, the reason you also gave for him being there, was I presume to reassure people that on the ship in question Carnival were protecting people from the nasty threats of violence experienced by the OP and her family at the hands of drunken "chair hogs".Do you think it is necessary to have this degree of security in the daytime on the Lido deck of every Carnival ship?

Ps you may confer with SS if you like.

  8. I said he was getting kids out of the adults only hot tub and I saw him tell people they couldn't have drinks while in the hot tub, as those are the stated rules on the sign next to them. It didn't have anything to do with drunks though. As dod were being served all around. I never saw anyone drunk or obnoxious. The only time I've seen really drunk and rude people was on ncl pearl. In all my carnival cruises I've never seen a drunk, for that matter I didn't see one on my rci cruise either.
So without the security guard on permanent duty kids would be in the hot tub with adults who are drinking. I presume this had got out of hand before on this ship, hence the reason for the guard to be on duty in the daytime?Which ship was it?
  9. So what you are saying is that the servers like passengers who are polite and respectful to the crew. Not those (from any nation) who are rude and tip big to excuse themselves of their master servant superiority.

    I've noticed this too!

In a nutshell yes,it was rife on the Royal Iris when they ran out of Sayers pasties on the 08.00.:)

PS you left out perceived superiority, my wife speaks several languages and has never said "gimme" once.
