  1. You have to get there early for a 4J. Lont time cruisers know about them and go for them quickly It is easily the best interior room. It is almost as good as a balcony. Take ten steps and you are out on a deck in the front of the boat. The interior window looks out onto the deck. You can see out and in daylight noone can see in, that changes at dark so when your steward closes the curtains keep them closed at night. There are handicapped 4J which I had a problem with in that there was no rail on the shower to stop water and I kept getting the rug wet. I had my own personal floor fan to dry it out. These rooms are well worth getting if you can. Two of my nest three cruises are here, only had to get them 18 months in advance.

We normally cruise out of Florida and decided to sail on the Sunrise out of New York. Does anyone have any recommendations on any options for hotels with park and cruise options?  We normally park at the pier but it’s around $400 to park so looking for other options.  Thanks!!

Hilton Garden Inn In Ridgefield Park NJ. and Hampton Inn in Ridgefield NJ. I am at Hilton Garden in Sept and usually go out of Fla as well. Both of these have park and cruise

We actually like , and use, most of our Platinum gifts.  Tervis cups, toiletry bags, baseball hats, the blanket, Bluetooth speaker, binoculars, and coffee mug to name a few.

There are a few that we just did not use.  The Croc visors were probably #1 on that list...hahaha!  Funniest looking thing I have ever seen!

I had forgotten all about that visor. You are right

My son and I both have 72 days of cruising Carnival. We are going on the 8 night sailing on the Sunrise in a few weeks.

I printed out our edocs & luggage tags and mine says Priority Platinum but his say Priority Gold! WHAT the?

I called my PVP and she pulled up both our accounts and confirmed both of us have identical cruise days.

She advised me to wait till I get on the ship it must be a glitch in the system.

We are both in the same cabin and any Platinum Perks should be the same, RIGHT?

Should I just wait an Board the way she suggested or call a different department? HELP!

Sounds like you PVP does not want to do a little work. Maybe you need a new one. this sounds like a one phone call or email fix by her and she does not want to do the work.

  5. Depending on the number of quest almost anyone can go. Funniest part of a recent cruise I skipped the party as usual and in the elevator was a guy drunk as ever and announcing that they had a party going on in the theater. His blue card was hanging on his neck. They normally do not care

Hi everyone! Dumb question- is there a master list of PVPs? I’ve emailed a few times and had no reply in the last several weeks and no luck calling. I’m starting to wonder now if she’s no longer with carnival and wanted to find out. What’s the best way? Thank you

If you call their extension and it goes back to the switchboard they probably are no longer there. That is how I found out. If they are still there you will get a voicemail.

There was a really nice bar waiter from Bosnia that I thought delivered above and beyond service.  On the last night of the cruise, I tipped him $30 on my last drink bill.  Usually I tip people I really like in cash, but I didn't have any on me.  His eyes got really big, and he thanked me for the generous tip.  So does he really get that $30, or does it go into the tip bank to be split 6 ways to Sunday?

If you tipped him on the bill he split it with everyone else. If you want to tip a particular waiter do it in gas. In the dining room if you tip a server they do pool that and split it with the team according to the servers I have talked to. Of course some will keep the cash

How about more on board credit, how about a free shore excursion,  free gratuities,  more drinks, more specialty dining credits, casino play,  specialty coffees,  anything of real dollar value. Not a 99 cent lanyard, and priority for this or that which has no dollar value.

How about an ink pen for my room

  9. Have been to LaRomana three times and have never had a problem. Twice walked downtown, however did run into a tour guide in thee town who told us where not to go, just like any town in USA there will be places not to go. other r occasion was a tour to a hotel and beach which was fine.

Keep in mind everything is washed in hot water, so be careful with what clothes you send out for washing. The last poster described the process well. The only thing I would add is some ships still use paper bags while other ships use plastic bags.

I like that they took pens out of rooms because they were plasic, but changed to plastic from paper on clothes bags. Consistent. By the way plastic is better than paper bags because the paper dissolved when putting wet things in it

  11. You fill out the form usually found in drawer in room. Make sure to see really small spot for plat. card number. Fill the plastic bag with your clothes. Roll them tight to get as many in as possible, Put the bag on bed for your steward and it is usually returned the next day. The plate is usually left in your room on the second or third day. sometimes later

I thought you could bring more than 2 but had to pay a corkage fee.  Did they change that rule?

Have not changed the rule since i started in 2007. Always been one per adult no matter the length. I have only done 3 for 14 days .

I know at one time Carnival had what they called a milestone cruise, that when you had twenty-five cruises you received a reduced price on your cruise and special OBC.  Do they still have this or has it been done away with like all the other perks that have gone to the wayside in recent years?

Best to use it on a journey or longer cruise to get more out of it

True the more expensive the cruise the more credit you get

  14. Most of the 25 cruises I have been on have had a hyptomist. For those who know someone who intentionally tried to get picked to screw up the show so what. They will tell you everyone cannot be put under. You will notice he usually cuts the number down because he sees that they probably will not or that they are not serious. I had a friend that actually was put under and was hilarious. It is just a show so if you do not want to try and be serious about it why try

You can use the credit on your 25th cruise. I used it on mine in Feb and had 525 dollars on board credit. You can call you PVP and have him or her set it up or call the milestone desk and they will set it up. I did both to make sure .

    The OBC is non-refundable.

We used my wife’s OBC from her 25th cruise on Horizon in March. We are using my OBC from my 25th cruise on Breeze at the end of this month. One phone call to Carnival was all it took to have the OBC added to our cruises.

I believe it is supposed to be non refunable. Foe some reason on mine in Feb they split it into partial refunable and partially non refunable. I asked guest services and he did nto know why. I did receive a check for the refunable portion at the end. I did not send it back. LOL
