  1. Hi to all

Have booked 1 balcony & 1 interior on Divina both gty at the time but I've received our cabin numbers now. Were on different decks. (I understand gty is just that and doesn't keep families near)

I was hoping to ask MSC if any chance to request cabins closer together.

Does anyone know how I do this?  Not an option online or App.

I booked with an online 3rd party who referred me to MSC. I am in Ireland.  I phoned but got MSC Europe who cannot help and cannot provide any information.

Is there an email or chat avail?  last resort is to phone the US but this will be priiiicey 🙂

Not sure of exactly what you are looking for with such a broad question, but an inside is an interior cabin with no view of the outside of the ship. An oceanview cabin has some sort of view of the outside via a non-opening window or porthole. As for family vs non-family, the family descriptor is generally used for cabins located near family-friendly amenities such as kids clubs.

ah ok thank you @SeaShark that actually answers my (poorly worded) question about what was 'family' about the family rooms if they all hold a similar occupancy 🙂

  3. Hi all,

First time posting in NCL forum!

Booking for a family of 4 (2+2) and room options in my budget are a family inside or an obs. oceanview.  I cannot find a family obs. oceanview but as my booking is for 4, I am assuming I will have sleeping for 4.

But what is the difference between a family inside and a non-family obs. oceanview which sleeps 4?

I have traweled all sites to try find out but no information.

  4. @VMax1700 do you book from IE?  If so any good recommendations for Travel agents?  I've been 'cruising' online and finding it very hard to get prices for IE residents.  Most sites are US or UK only.

Tried Trailfinders but they only book RCL and mad money.

I'm looking at a Msc or carnival for a family balcony caribbean in Feb.  But hitting brick walls all over the place.

    Any tips?

    PS thanks @crystalspin

  5. Hi cruisers!

I'm irish and looking to book a Caribbean cruise from miami.  When I look online, irish websites don't allow me to book. .Co.uk and .com websites tell me I need a UK or postcode.  When I phone the crossings I get quoted MUCH higher than is showing online.

Do you kmow if I can book on a .Co.uk website with a friend's address but travel on irish passport?  Or does your address on booking need to match your residency/passport?

  6. Hi all, have previously sailed on Nav OTS with just our daughter back in Oct 13. Now we have our 11 month old son and I'm looking into our next cruise for Mar 2016. Most likely MSC divinia mainly because it's not too pricey. Apart from disney, it seems impossible to find something suitable for a 20 mth old. So my thinking is to just got middle of the road until both our kids are old enough to avail of the better kids facilities - does that make sense?

But i am alreasy thinking about when my son turns 3 and where we should go! It's 2 years away :) but would LOVE to sail on one of the newer RCL ships..and I'm guessing I should book as far out as possible? But won't that make the price really expensive? I'm a bargain hunter so spend AGES looking for best price/package.

  7. Hi everyone! I have asked our "cruise concierge" these same questions but in my experience sometimes peeps on cruise critic know more than they do. :)

Background: I have been on 3 cruises. 2 HAL and one Celebrity a long time ago. Our last cruise was HAL a few years ago on the Eurodam. We enjoyed it but were won over to RCCL by the family oceanview staterooms that accommodate 5. That and I thought it would be nice to try something different. It will be nice to all be together and not need to put one of our kids in my parents' cabin.

We are sailing January 18, 2014 on the Serenade out of NOLA. 7 nights. Family oceanview stateroom. We booked this very late - like within the last week.

My husband and I are in a cabin with our kids aged 10, 8 & 5. My parents are also coming. Our kids LOVED club HAL and begged to go there every waking moment. On the Eurodam we ended up feeding them dinner at the Lido deck and then having dinner with my parents in the dining room each night while they went to Club HAL. We made reservations for 7:15 each night (15 minutes after club HAL opened).

That method worked ok but it was a lot of work to take them all to the buffet and then have to try and get ready for dinner myself for the MDR for the other meal with my parents. I am incredibly intrigued by the "My Family Time Dining" that RCCL offers. HOWEVER they tell me that the early seating is not available and my understanding is that you can only do "My Family Time Dining" if you are at the early seating. Right now we have the open seating and have prepaid our gratuities.

My questions: Is there an alternative to "My Family Time Dining" that would be easier than doing the Windjammer with my kids for dinner? That is if the early seating doesn't open up. Does anyone know what time the kids club opens in the evening? That will help us to figure out when to make dinner reservations if we keep "my time dining." If it doesn't open until 7 I will make reservations for 7:15 but I would prefer a slightly earlier time if the kids club opens earlier.

My other question was about the beverages package and I cannot seem to find a definitive answer to this question. I understand both adults over 21 in a cabin have to have a package. My question is whether we can get different packages. My husband is a beer and wine drinker but does not touch the hard stuff. I like cocktails the most. It does not make sense for him to have the premium package but that is what I want. Any way we can get two different packages? Would the answer change if we waited to buy it until we get on the ship?

Sorry for so many questions - I am just new to this but I am a big planner and like to know what to expect well ahead of time. My father is also 90 years old so I am trying to get everything arranged before we go to make things easier for him. Thanks in advance.

Could you just book your MTD for 6pm and let the AO staff know to pick your kids up at 6.40 as per the MY family time dining? From our experience adventure ocean staff disks know what seating options we were on. We just booked dd in each day at 9am for that eve.
