We did the Viking Star transatlantic last year. Water was smooth , no rain, weather was VERY pleasant.

Just got them 2 weeks ago..so you can call Viking and ask.btw I love the packing cubes too..
-
Check out the NH hotels..
-
The lines I sailed with before offered a beach type bag ..since Viking doesn't go to a beach for a day..this doesn't apply..
-
in the Restaurant and specialty dining , they will seat you. But if you enjoy those near you in line or have made arrangements to dine with others, just tell them that and they will accommodate you.

My biggest problem on the Viking Star last year was the soap used by the machines were not fragrance free and I couldn't figure out how to not add it and use my own fragrance free soap.

I am just going to echo others..yes to trip insurance..and cancel for any reason..cruise lines IMHO are not the best deal ..ask your TA for recommendations ..check insuremytrip or squaremouth..we have roam right
-
Maybe things have changed but last year on the Viking Star there was included champagne at lunch in the world cafe.. on the river cruises there is champagne for breakfast too.

Hi we are on the homeland cruise in mid May from Stockholm to Bergan, we got out air 2 weeks ago.. ask your TA to call and see if they have a clue...
We are on Iceland Air..not perfect but it will do..because we leave from one port and fly back from another we figured it would be pricey..

I can't sleep on planes either especially now that I sit cramped in a small seat with little padding ... but I do close my eyes and try to rest. Deep breathing, no tv or blue light after midnight. I do tour the next day for as long as I can, eat lite then sleep early...it helps me..
BARCELONA ..love it..If it was me, I would drop off luggage in the hotel, ride the hop on hop off bus..visit la sagrada familia, parc guell
And take the free walking tour...then menu of the day for dinner..

We are on Viking Homelands on May 29 so our excursions and prices have been up for a bit. In St. P there are quite a few, ranging from $69 for one site, to $509pp for the 2-day full tour. By way of comparison, we booked a two day tour with TJ and the price was $225pp. We put together our own group through our roll call and got a discount.
We are on Viking Homelands May 12th, and experienced the same thing.. We booked the 2 day tour with TJ.

Does Viking provide name tags for the Meet & Mingle or do we need our own?
Tom
We provide our own name tags on the Viking Star transatlantic. The meet was held in the upstairs portion of the explorer lounge. There were passed drinks and appetizers. The crew including the captain was there.. wonderful event. The invitation was in our cabin on the first day and the event was held the second night.. if you get a chance please go..

My husband puts his very thinned down wallet in his front pocket and then safety pins the pocket closed

I took the TA last year from San Juan to Barcelona..I never had time to get bored. I long for the days to sit on deck 1 in the comfy blue leather chair and ottoman , reading a book, sipping perfect coffee..playing Trivia, dominoes, cards, chatting with others, viewing the viking art, watching for whales in the explorer lounge, listening to the marvelous piano player..there are things i never such as enjoying the pool or visit the spa or snow room.. I never had Tea in the winter garden either..i must go back to do these things..
If I could I would jump on the TA in a heartbeat..but..

Viking Homelands/Berlin Confusion
in Viking Ocean
Posted
I was confused too.. one said it arrived and left from different stations. Others said there was an orientation bus trip after the train and then you were on your own, others said no bus trip..I called Viking and was told that this year there is only a train ride.
So I just opted for the easy way and booked the tour with Viking for Berlin..
