back in 2003 I went on the Paradise and it was NON smoking!! Its was beyond awesome!!!!!!!!! Lounges didn't smell musty etc, I would kill for a smoke free ship!!
and it failed.

I have noted that there is only two places to smoke on the magic.
Deck 5 outside /Casino and Deck 11 AFT. This is a larger ship and has a lot of people but it seems smoking is limited to two smaller areas.
My Question is can you access deck 5 forward and aft from another deck without passing through the casino. I also see that Lido is smoke free which i am good with. The remainder of the ship is a smoke free area, so there is lots of places for a non smoker to hang out. Also I think that smoking has been in casinos for as long as I can remember so most people will expect that. Sailing on the Magic in 18 days. Thanks for the info
There are more than 2 and
They have changed the smoking area's on deck 11 back to midship and aft.
Carnival Magic

woke up one morning and slip my curtains open and say this on the ship across the pier:

Saw this on another board and thought this would be a great topic. so lets hear it!

Did you find that there were plenty of deck waiters on the Lido deck from the bars to order drinks from or did you have to go get your own?

On most ships they can seat up to 12. Just call you pvp and make sure he links your bookings so that you will all be seated together.
We have cruised twice with a group of 11 and just made sure our bookings were linked prior and we all got to sit together at one big table.

Our 16 year old twin boys will have their cell phones to use as a camera only, but even then they mostly leave them in the room. We have had some of our best conversations while waiting to board the ship and onboard.

Lobster on the first elegant night...
We got nothing, but the guy at the table next to us had ordered 6 of them....so they apologized and we took our fancy dressed selves up to the lido and we haven not had dinner in the dining room since. Its really not worth the hassle of getting dressed and spending 2 hours at dinner, when the lido is so convenient.

4 extra pillows...one for each of us
Ice
please leave my towel animals
always tip $20 on day one and $20-$40 on the last day.

It tends to depend on the port as to when you are allowed to choose your check in time.
We cruise in Sept from Port Canaveral and can not choose a check in time yet. We were told that at 100 days prior it would become available...but i still check everyday.
-
You mean you were refunded???????
No. We booked early saver rate. So if the price drops for our room category we can call our pvp and he will adjust our fare to match the new lower price. We received $70 off of our room and a $50 on board credit.

I tried to edit it and it just posted a whole new thread...

I do have to add a side note here.. just so you know you get 15 drinks on cheers max per day. We met a wedding party group on our July cruise and the husband was very disappointed at midnight when he was cut off. He drank 15 beers during their long day and at midnight could not order another. You can NOT even purchase an additional beverage after the 15 drinks. You are cut off. He pouted all the way back to his cabin.. lol

you have to start purchasing drinks "for a friend" prior to drink 15
-
The price spreadsheet needs to be updated..most of the drink prices have gone up since this was made.
frozen drinks are $8.25+15%= $9.49
martinis-appletinis $8.95+15%=$10.30 ect..

I was told by Carnival Esupport that times will become available 100 days prior. I cruise in Sept and can not choose a time yet.

We are booked on the magic in September and the magic just started the staggered check in. We don't have the option yet to choose a check in time. Does anyone know when this will become available? I am not paid in full yet fyi.

They do have a dress to impress night the same night as elegant night.

Caribbean Colada!!! sooo soo yummy!

Dom is not served by the glass therefore not covered under cheers.

this is cracking me up! All the people complaining about kids in the steak house now sound like smokers complaining about outdoor smoking areas are being taken away.
They like all the things that annoy you to be inside now...kids in the steak house and smokers in the casinos.
-
Here is what we were told
The steak house only has so many staff, they can only serve so many tables.
while the steak house used to be fully staffed, may people did not choose to pay an up charge to dine there, so the cruise line reduced the staff. so most of those tables just sit there never used and they can only accommodate so many people and are thus technically fully booked.
Just for fun, what is the single worst thing you have seen a carnival cruiser doing?
