  1. We were a group of 9 and had anytime dining. After the second night they set a specific table and time for us. (6:30 pm) We were told it was easier for the staff to know when we would arrive and where we were sitting than for the large group to show up 'anytime'. We did not request this, it was just provided. This was on the Royal 2 years ago.

  2. I have redeemed multiple gift cards online. If you still have a balance on your account and you select Payments & Credits. When you choose make a payment it will give you an option to select Gift Card. Just complete the form with the gift card information.

If you have made final payment, I have just taken them to PSD and had them added to my folio.

  3. We sailed on the Royal Princess in July this summer Barcelona to Athens. Although we booked as a 14 day cruise it was sold in 7 day increments. This is our 4th time to Europe and we are assuming because it was sold as 7 days vs a 10, 11 or 12 day cruise which we have always had in the past there were many more children on this cruise.

Also Europeans take vacation in July and August so there were definitely more families which in turn means more children.

For example we had a group of 58 South American teenagers from 15 – 17 years old. There were many European families with 2 – 4 children from infants through teens. This was the first time we had such a diverse group of passengers from all over the world.

The turn over after each 7 day segment was large. In Rome we embarked 3400 new passenger according CD Ron Goodman.

The children that we encountered, including the teenagers from South America were well behaved and respectful so it was not an issue, just very different than our Princess cruises in the past.

  4. Completed a Mediterranean Cruise in July 2016 in a full suite. We booked as 1 14 day cruise (1 Booking Number) but the cruise was sold in 7 day segments. We are Elite.

We received 2 mini bars set (1 for the Suite and 1 for Elite status) every 7 days.

We received two complimentary specialty dinners on the first day of each 7 day leg.

Internet minutes were 150 per person each 7 day leg.

Our CCL stock OBC was 250.00 for the 14 days.

  5. My husband and I were on that cruise but had boarded in Barcelona. We had received a notice from Princess in our stateroom for those who were disembarking in Rome that there was a strike from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm at the port and the airport. (This did delay disembarkation for those passengers but I don’t know for how long as we were in transit.) There is a website that will tell you when strikes will occur in Europe and who is on strike. A very common practice in Europe. You can Google European strikes.

The last time we were in Rome and embarking on a cruise from there the taxi drivers were on strike and we had to haul our luggage to the subway to get to the train station. Thank goodness we pack fairly light!

  6. More importantly, is the breakfast mimosa limited to one per person?

I am looking forward to enjoying a Royal Penthouse suite as well. Upgraded with an up sell offer that went out.

Just finished a 14 day cruise in Europe in a suite on the Royal. You may have as many mimosas as you'd like in Sabatini's for breakfast.

  7. Safe travels Tracie to you and 'Bradley'.

I am following along as we are on the same intinerary/ship starting July 16th.

Also, like you we were in a minisuite and had an upsell to an OS for a reasonable price adjustment which was also our hope since we are onboard for 14 days.

Anxious to hear what you think of the suite and balcony as we have never been aft before so we are excited!

  8. We just completed Global Entry interviews today at the Minneapolis airport.

Applied in March and interview was today. He approved us today and said we will get our cards in about two weeks.

  9. My husband and I are on the Royal Princess this summer boarding in Barcelona, Spain. If we board the ship before noon, can we get back off the ship and see some additional sights? (we don't want to haul around our carry on luggage)

    Thanks for any insight.

  10. We (4 of us) were on the week before you and had a fabulous cruise.

The crew was outstanding and Brian, our steward was the best we have ever had.

We also felt the entertainment was the best we have ever experienced.

Christina Bianco , who performs diva impersonations was amazing. She not only did her own show but assisted in another show and was a judge for Voices of the Ocean.

We all agreed Martyn and Simone are best CD and ACD we have had. Really enjoyed our 7 day getaway.

  11. Norris, I have followed along from day one as I did with your Emerald review. You are a master story teller thru words and photos and I greatly appreciate your efforts. As a loyal Princess cruiser your X adventure may just lead me to one of these ships in the near future.

Thanks for the great time and fabulous story.

  12. Norris, thanks so much for your in depth review and wonderful pictures. My husband I have previously been to Rome but are returning on a Med cruise on the Royal next July.

We were trying to decide what to do in Rome for the day and after seeing your photos from Altare della Patria, we may well need to check this out.

Like you and Carol, we never tire of Rome or Italy or Greece for that matter.

Looking forward to your review of other ports as well as we have not been to Genoa, or Barcelona.

    Thanks for sharing.

  13.

These are adorable. I just ordered a few for some girlfriends as Christmas gifts and one for myself of course.

  14. My DH and I have used the AI Beverage package on our last 2 cruises. We pre-paid for the first cruise and the stickers were already on our cruise card when we checked in for the cruise. We bought the second drink package once on board for the 2nd cruise. Only took a few minutes.

We had no problem getting multiple bottles of water and or beer to take back to our cabin at night. We usually did this at Crooner's.
