As long as the booking is paid in full prior to cancellation the travel agents commission is protected. Any TA that charges an additional fee over and above is being very unethical IMO.
Not if the guest cancels the reservation for a full refund. If RCCL cancels and it was paid in full, yes.

Congrats to everyone who got good news and fingers crossed for everyone still waiting. I have never tried royal up. I am currently in standard balcony I picked on deck 11 mid/aft. I was considering bidding on spacious ocean view balcony but it said either bigger room or balcony. I originally assumed it would be what people refer to as hump rooms. I would only want if it was bigger balcony. Does anyone have thoughts on how many would be larger balcony vs larger room? Thank you!
From what I read it is luck of the draw and no way to know what you will end up with. If you are not happy with that option I would not bid. When my bids came up I didn't bid on that option because if I couldn't get a JS or a GS I would stay with the balcony cabin I had which I was happy with location.

Congrats!! Sweet deal on a suite! 🤗 Wow...11 days to go and you already have a cabin!
Me for this cruise...they are ignoring...again.
Hope you get what you are looking for. Have you considered upping the bid? I wanted to bid a little over half way but my husband said if we really want the GS we should bid closer to the max. So we did.

Good morning, our GS bid was accepted for our Odyssey 1/29/22. 😊
This was a comp cruise and we bid close to the max as we thought it was still a good deal to us. The charge is pending on our cc and app shows our new number.
When I go to my reservation on the Royal website it says pay remaining balance, assuming this will clear once the charge on my credit card goes from pending to charge?- 1

There is no sky class on the other ships. Only Oasis and Quantum class.
Yes I know but when you look at the suite perks on Royal's website it doesn't specify which ships. Unless I missed it so people do not know unless they are familiar with how it works and assume all suites have it.

Depends on the ship. If on Quantum or Oasis class it is included. If in a sky class suite on other ships Wifi is not included unless something has changed I am not aware of. We were on the Navigator in a 1 bedroom GS and it was not included but in the same category on the Anthem it was.

When you first board the ship head to the MDR for MTD and ask. This close to your sail date possibly what you see in your CP is the earliest due to all the earlier times are already reserved. There's always the option for no reservations for MTD. Two different lines at the entrance.
Thanks, it hasn't given me any earlier times, have been checking since October.

I have seen on the app for upcoming cruises (sailing Jan 29) My time Dine is 6:45pm which puts a lot of the events we may want to go to smack in the middle of dinner. Can we get an earlier time onboard or because of Covid they are only doing 6:45pm or later? For example a lot of the trivia or some music bands have sets at 7, 7:15 or 7:30pm.
Thanks

My TA called Royal and got me a full refund too for my January 22 cruise. (Sadly, I used one of those Travel Agents with their own $100 cancellation fee..won't do that again!)
It is annoying but remember they do not get paid commission if you cancel so any work they did was for free. Some agencies are charging this due to the overwhelming amount of cancellations both by people traveling and by the cruise lines.

Not sure about Celebrity but with most cruise lines if you are traveling with a child who is not vaccinated you have to take a ship excursion.

Just an update...checked yesterday and all were expired save for the JS which was pending. Got the email confirmation for the JS this morning. Over 2 weeks before sailing. Not sure if that means they are done selling rooms since I'm reading that usually the emails are sent much closer to sailing.
We are on the Jan 29 Odyssey, two days ago our bids went to expired except for one GS, still no email, charge on credit card or change in room number that I can see. Doesn't seem that it is consistent. I have heard one other person who bid on a JS on my sailing did get their confirmation.

Addtionally, case thresholds were set at 0.1% under the current CSO but will rise to 0.3% in the new voluntary program.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I've tried all of them and still no change anywhere from my original cabin even though my credit card was charged two weeks ago. I just tried emailing Royalup again and if I still get no help, I'll rely on the porters to find my new cabin number at the pier.
Just a suggestion, no idea if it will work. Clear your history and cache on your broswers. sign out of your computer and sign back in. Or use a browser you normally do not use. If you are trying on your phone, tablet, app. try on a computer.

We are still holding out hope but the closer we get the hope lessons. We were not offered an Up bid for the second cruise sailing on the 24th. Counting the days until test time...
Have you tried going to the Royal Up website directly and checking. I didn't get an email and I was able to bid.

Thank you for the live reporting. We are on January 29th and interested to see how your next cruise goes as well as I think it mirrors our itinerary.

I don't see a spacious ocean view balcony option on the deck plans at all with that description so not sure.

I am on Odyssey on 1/29 and I bid on 5 options from Spacious Balcony to GS, this morning they were all pending, I just checked and all but Jr. Suite show Expired. Jr. Suite still showing Pending...should i be cautiously optimistic?
Just checked mine.
On same sailing all show expired except the GS and it cannot be modified. Cautiously hoping.
I bid on the JS, GS and GS with large balcony as those were my options. It also allowed me to bid on a 2b GS but we are only two people so didn't go for that one.- 1

Apparently they weren't working too hard on it, because our 12/4 Harmony cruise that should have been moved to Wonder was unceremoniously (and without any communication from RCL) moved to Fort Lauderdale, kept on Harmony, and shortened to a six day cruise. Apparently they ran out of suites before they got to ours. Just spent ~90 minutes on line with RCL, and we are now doing an 8-night Eastern on Jewel out of PC 12/9 -12/17 in the same suite category for less $$ than the 7-night that was moved.
Ugh what a mess. What suite category are you in? The older ship suite perks are very different than on the Harmony and other Oasis / Quantum class ships.

Interesting, thank you. I know Disney is not, I guess Royal is different.
