  1. Wishing those 22 days of non weight bearing passes quickly. I was non weight bearing for 6 weeks when I had surgery for a broken ankle 2 years ago. Hoping your PT is successful and that you'll be on both feet without any aid. Please don't feel guilty about George taking care of you. As Jack did for me, it was done out of love.
  2. Another Dallas area resident here with a weather update, especially for @firefly333, Jane, who got out just in time. Torrential horizontal rain, wind, flooding yesterday, sirens to alert folks of either tornadoes/extreme t-storms. Scary. Never lost power. Jack and I tried to stay calm until the siren ended which was probably less than 10 minutes. So glad our Dallas area friends in here were spared any major damage. @GeorgeC Good luck with Shelagh's hand surgery tomorrow.
  3. I still havent sold my house I thought your sister and brother in law are living in your house? Try and rest up a bit and enjoy the next chapter in your life with best wishes on your move.
  4. I just checked my Celebrity status and listing is weird. 2 are correct but I don't understand the 3rd listing for 1970 which never took place. I also remember cruising to Bermuda 2 years in a row, not 4 years apart. With the 2013 point conversion I have 90 club points. I'm Select status whatever that means. 7 Night Bermuda Cruise Horizon Jun 30 — Jul 7, 2001 Points earned: 1 7 Night Bermuda Cruise Zenith Jul 5, 1997 Points earned: 1 Celebrity Cruise Nov 5, 1970 Points earned: 1
  5. Baldacci and Grisham are two of my favorite authors. Both of their newest books are on hold at my library.
  6. Happy Birthday to Jack and Ryan! I remember the day my daughter received her driver's license. Jack and I knew there would be some sleepless nights in our future! May your Jack and all your other grands who drive, have safe journeys. I was glad to read that you came through your laser procedure with flying colors. You must be relieved it's over. @DaniDanielle Marietta, congratulations on your grandkids graduations. Your family deserves much happiness.
  7. Your Tiki patio looks awesome! I remember going to Hawaii Kai restaurant in NYC in the 60s-70s. It had that Tiki vibe. You would have loved it.
  8. Glad you didn't get much damage. When we were home owners, it was always a fear. Since we're now in an apt. building and haven't gone out, not sure about surrounding damage. There is some water damage near our elevator extending down some feet in the hallway. Very powerful rain and wind. Plants brought in from our balcony and the American flags affixed on the railing are flapping like crazy. Lull in the rain now with more to come later in the day. BTW, I am getting double pages on this thread again. Same posts on 4904 and 4905.
  9. I just typed a lovely post about our afternoon at the pool. It went poof into cyberspace...sigh. Anyway, we had a great time. My friend brought 2 bottles of Moscato. She knows me so well. Others brought beer and more. Someone brought chocolate covered rum balls and trust me, the rum was added with a heavy hand. Lots of dips, munchies. This was planned totally last minute. About 14 were there. Music was piped in. Not just listening music but OUR music, songs of the 60s/70s, so we danced and sang to our hearts content. Motown, Grease, Beatles, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, etc., etc. Wonderful trip down memory lane.
  10. Oh no! Somehow hitting the "like" button just didn't seem appropriate. Hope it all works out and that you'll be on your way soon. Isn't it past 8pm in NY now?
  11. Oh how awful! I hope you can still enjoy the rest of your trip and that her finger is not giving her much pain.
  12. Bethany, may all your birthday wishes come true! Are you enjoying our 95 degree weather today? Humidity below 40%. We were just invited to come down to our complex pool to party hardy. Rumor has it wine will be served with lots of munchies. Luckily, I just bought my favorite dill dip yesterday so that and a bag of chips will be our contribution.
  13. Your surgery sounds more intense than mine although mine was not laparoscopic. Glad you're feeling better!
  14. @dani negreanu Dani, as you know, my heart and prayers are with all of Israel for an end to this living nightmare you're all going through.
  15. I had umbilical hernia surgery almost 3 months ago and truthfully I don't recall being on a post hernia diet. I had enough pain the first 3-4 days post surgery that my appetite was next to nothing. Everyone recovers differently and I hope yours is less painful than mine.
  16. My town in North Texas dodged a tornado bullet with one touching down approx. 40 miles from where we live, killing 5, injuring dozens. I understand it passed right over us. Shudder. Temps will be high 90s today. And so summer begins.......sigh.
  17. @jagsfanMimi, let me add my best wishes for a successful recovery so you can regain your independence. Rehab will work wonders to get you back on both feet. Hold good thoughts for a successful outcome.
  18. Every time I book a cruise, I am bombarded with daily "sale" emails for weeks. Very disappointed that nothing new has been added. Same email, same sales, on and on ad nauseum. I don't want to unsubscribe for fear of missing an email that really matters. Anyone else feel the same way? Of course, booking a cruise is happiness. I get that but sometimes my annoyance level is higher than it should be.
  19. I thought the point of an extended warranty is that repairs are covered? Oh my I am so glad the doctor said no worries. Good luck on your surgery next week! When we were in WDW my daughter was 5 and we went on the small world ride multiple times. MULTIPLE. When we got back home, we ventured into the Disney Store at the mall and that song played over and over. I wanted to SCREAM!. CC somehow removed the part of @Sunshine3601 Debbie's post where I can reply. I wanted to comment that even half of $125,000 is a nice piece of change. I read Sam lived in a hotel due to covid. I believe I read Sam changed her management team or record label. Not sure what the real story is. Not too many stories like hers.
  20. I missed a few Idol seasons and that was one of them. I read that Idol winners get $125,000 when they win and another $125,000 when they put out an album. What happened to that win money? And from me too!
